Fresh and Cleaned. (10th Chapter)
…Back at the Ship…

Valerie's POV:

“(He huffs tiredly, as he gets out of the bathroom) I managed to chop down his hair into a decent haircut. He’s all cleaned now, and he needs to be dressed.” I rush my heels towards my father’s stand, and hand him the folded clothes which were placed on my arms. “(He smiles at me with exhaustion) I’ll put these on him, then I’ll leave you to style his hair like you kids do these days.” I laugh thinly, as my father enters the bathroom again.
Thankfully, we were able to return before Gerard and his men came back, and so far it seems that time is working for our sake. I pace the wooden floor back and forth, trying not to clonk my heels loudly so that the sleeping human won’t awake. For the time being, I cannot figure out the reason why I am so attached to him so far.
Recalling the earlier events and occurrences; he leaped on me yet not roughly. He tackled me and help me underneath his body, yet there was no indication of pain. Did he not want to hurt me? How could he have this ability to differentiate between a good person and a bad one? Is there something that lead denied any hurtful action done to me? I see it now, as I saw it previously; the way his eyes sparked into mine, was able to reflect his feelings without talking.
For some strange reason; I am the only one that is able to understand what he means by a simple look and nothing more. My father was scared and thought he’d hurt me, but I was able to see his intention. This human is far away from hurt and violence; at least towards me. When my father and I carried him back to the ship, I rushed to open the door of my personal bedroom.
I had this vibe that shouted at me and told me, that he must be around me at all times. Perhaps I am infatuated by his mythical condition; that’s what I can come up with as an explanation for now. My father’s voice plugs me out of my deep thoughts, as he says:“He’s all yours. Fresh and cleaned. (He chuckles) I’ll be here once you are done, so I’ll carry him to the bed.” I didn’t have time to nod, since my heels pulled me in a hurry to the bathroom. I stared at him, softly snoring as he is seated on a wooden chair in front of the sink.
My eyes glitter at his innocence, as I see him properly dressed from head to toe. Even though my father’s clothes are a little baggy on him, he looks magnificent. I take out a little hair cream from the bottle placed near the sink, as I step between his opened thighs. I kneel down a little as I comb his hair with my fingers, ruffling the honey cream through his freshly chopped curls. His hair is still long, yet it isn’t out of the average limit.
Once I finish up the messy look, my hands surprise me. It was like my body was taking control, shutting my mind out of its dominating nervous system. I found my hands cupping both sides of his rosy cheeks, as I kissed his forehead tenderly. I never would have witnessed myself near such thought nor action, but it seems that my instinct took full control this time. You’ll be safe as long as you’re with me.
