Chapter 1

Liam's POV

"If you ever try something like that again, I will kill you!" I growl in Jason's face.

He nods his head a few times before spitting blood from his mouth. Some of the drops fall onto my arm, making the anger inside of me grow more. I push his body against the wall once more before releasing him and flipping him off.

"Get going," I mutter as I walk to the table in the basement of Zayn's house. I take a wet cloth from Niall and wipe my bloody hands with it.

"You shouldn't have let him go," Zayn shakes his head at me. I glare at him for a few seconds, until he shifts in his place, then wipe my neck with the wet cloth.

"He knows better than to do something like that again," I bark.

I fucking hate how there always has to be one guy that thinks he's a smart ass and does something completely foolish. This is the second guy I took in from the streets for my drug dealing that tries to work for me and himself at the same time. The most annoying part is that they think I won't find out.

"We have to stop doing these things in my basement," Zayn shakes his head. "Perrie's going to find out sooner or later," he sighs.

"She won't find out if you don't make anything obvious," I tell him as I remove my shirt.

"Why can't we do these kind of things in your basement?" He questions. I send him a glare and ignore his question.

"Harry!" I yell. In a few seconds, he comes rushing into the room with sweats on. "Make sure everything runs smoothly tonight," I tell him.

"You're not going to be there?" He questions with a raised eyebrow.

"You're my right hand man for a reason Harry," I walk past him. I open the closet where we keep extra clothes for days like today, and pull one of my shirts from a hanger. I pull it over my head before walking to the fridge. I get myself a beer then sink into the sofa with a heavy sigh.

"I say we get high," Zayn chuckles. I feel the sofa dip in next to me and turn my head to the direction. "Joining?" Zayn holds a join for me. I shrug and take it in my fingers. The rest of the guys from my head-gang joins us, all except for Louis who I sent away for a job. Just as Zayn holds his lighter to me, my phone vibrates in my pocket. I pull it out and sigh once Rayne's picture flashes on the screen.

"What's up?" I answer my phone.

"Liam," she sobs. Worry washes over me as I stand to my feet.

"What's wrong?" I ask her, rushed.

"I'm scared," she cries.

"Why? Where are you?" I ask as I walk to the table for my keys. I throw the joint on the table and walk to the door.

"At my house. Please come," she cries again.

"I'll be there in a minute, sit tight," I tell her before I cut the call.

"Listen guys I have to go. I'll see you all tomorrow," I wave them off then make my way up the stairs. I hear faint "goodbye's" as I reach the top of the stairs.

I'm worried about Rayne. I mean, I know she overreacts sometimes but what if something is wrong? I hate hearing her cry. I always held my sister when she cried. The thought of my beautiful sister angers me. I shouldn't have killed those guys, I should have kept them tied down. I should have tortured them. But instead, I killed them. It felt good, but if I was able to hurt them over and over again, that would have been much, much better. I run my hand through my hair as I close the door to Zayn's house. As I walk to my car, Perrie's car pulls into the driveway.

"Hi," she smiles as she steps out of her car. I take a glance at her swollen stomach and shake my head.

"Hi," I mutter before I slide into my car.

I don't know why Zayn would want a fiance or child when he's in a very dangerous. Most people doesn't know about it, just like Perrie doesn't. And now his fiance is expecting his child. It's dangerous to even have a girlfriend, and from the very beginning I made it clear to all of my members that they cannot allow something like that in their lives. But Zayn is one of my best men, and I can't lose him. So we have an arrangement; he does a few jobs a month in return for the safety of his fiance and child. I don't like Perrie though, she's too sweet and innocent for my liking. It amazes me that she still believes that Zayn is an undercover detective. But whatever floats their boat. I put my key into my car and start the ignition, listening as my car roars to life. I put the car in drive and pull out of the driveway before I rush over to Rayne's house. Once I reach it, I jump out of my car and walk up to the steps then knock on the door. No one answers or opens up at first, which only makes my worry worse, but finally Rayne opens the door with puffy red eyes. She looks so vulnerable. I sigh at her state and pull her to my chest.

"What's wrong?" I ask her as I brush her hair gently. I close the door with my foot and help her walk to the living room.

"I saw something," she mutters into my chest.

"What did you see?" I frown down at her. Her body is shaking in my arms, making sadness grow inside of me.

"I was walking home, and, and," she starts crying hard. I coo her and gently rock her body.

"And what?" I whisper as I brush her hair.

"I saw a guy, he looked so beat up, he had cuts all over his face and blood all over his clothes. I asked him if he was okay and he pushed me," she whispered in-between sobs.

Jason. That little fucking prick. I'm going to get him tomorrow.

"It's alright, I'm here now," I kiss her cheek.

"Two guys came and they were all fighting, they punched him Liam," she cries as she looks up at me with watery eyes. "I ran away," she whispers as she clings to my shirt. "What if they followed me?" She sobs again.

I sigh and pull away from her shaking body. "You're safe, I'm here. Nobody followed you," I smile small at her. She shakes her head, still very unsure, then wipes her tears.

"I'll be right back," she hiccups as she walks to the bathroom. I run a hand through my hair and shake my head.

I love her innocence. It reminds me so much of my sister. I could never be able to tell Rayne about my real life, I can't break her like that. Since my sister died, I got so protective over Rayne. She's my little sister now; the only thing I can protect with my life.

"What happened to your hands?" Rayne's voice fills the room. She tied her hair and splashed water on her face that is still dripping from her eye lashes. I look down at my hands and shrug.

"Spent a few hours in the boxing ring," I tell her. Ever since I joined the gang, that has been my excuse for having bruises, cuts and swollen knuckles.

"You shouldn't do that anymore," she sighs. "It's dangerous,"

If only she knew what dangerous really is in my world..

"I'm fine, aren't I?" I smile at her. She shrugs and reaches for the remote. "Where's your parents?" I question.

"They went to my aunt, they'll be back any time now," she shrugs.

"Should I leave before they come?" I rise my eyebrows.

Her parents always adored me, until I got piercings and tattoos. Now, they can't stand me being around their daughter.

"I think it's for the best," she nods her small head.

I study her as she sits next to me. The small freckles on her cheeks that are only visible from nearby, her piercing blue-grey eyes, her soft, long dirty blonde hair, her tiny hands, her short height, her small yet so perfect body.

"I'll get going then," I smile at her.

"Thank you, Liam," she leans in to me. I hold her small frame in my arms as I inhale the smell of her shampoo.

"We're still going to that game at your school tomorrow, yeah?" I ask once she pulls away.

"Yeah, I have to go," she nods her head.

Ever since my sister died, I don't like Rayne going to places alone. So often I go with her or make her go with a group of friends. But being that her friends are all busy tomorrow, I offered to go with her. I love the fear in some people's eyes when they see and recognize me. Though, I thank the Lord that everyone's too afraid to say a thing about it to Rayne.
