Why love? **************ON HOLD***********************
Chapter 7
I woke up on my couch with a blanket draped over me. I sat up, and my head began to throb like crazy. The pain became unbearable, so I went to the medicine cabinet, grunting each time I took a step. I reached the bathroom door, and tried to open it, but the door was locked. Who could be in there? I tried to remember what happened before I passed out, but concentrating only made the pain in my head greater. I don't know why I fretted so much, it was probably my mother. I waited patiently, and a few moments later, I heard water running, and soon after that, the door swung open. I was surprised when I found the mystery person not to be my mother.
"Who the hell are you?" I yelled, my head throbbing once more. I gripped my head, as a tear slipped down my face.
"Calm down and let me explain," he said holding his hands up in defense.
"Well you better do it quick before I call the police," I whisper, "and do it quietly 'cause I've got a raging headache."
"Well I was walking down the street, and when I walked past your house I heard yelling and then a man walked out, and left the door wide open. I didn't want any thieves walking into your house, so I decided to close it for you, but then I saw you faint and hit your head pretty hard. I couldn't just leave you there, so I came in, put you on the couch, and waited for you to wake up."
"Okay," I said slightly addled and confused, "you can leave now. Thanks for your help."
"You don't recognize me?" he questioned.
"No, sorry..." I said trailing off at the end even more befuddled.
"We go to the same school. I'm in at least half of your classes," he says.
"Sorry, I don't really talk to anyone, or look at anyone for that matter, so I don't recognize you," I say, slightly embarrassed that this guy remembers me, but I don't have a clue who he is.
"It's alright. I'm Niall, by the way," he tells me.
"Thanks for your help Niall. If you don't mind, I really need some medicine for my head."
"Oh right. I'll show myself out. Feel better Lori," he says before walking away. I hear the door shut, as I just finish swallowing two pills to help with my headache. I walk back into the living room, and I spot a piece of paper on the table. I pick it up and there is a phone number with a note scribbled under it:
If you need anything, don't hesitate to give me a call :)
-Niall
