Chapter 44: Does It Seem Like Forever?
Harry’s POV
“Damn it, Tori.’’ I mumble as I bend down to pick her up. She fell and she’s crying like crazy. There’s blood pouring from her lip. Perrie’s trying to keep Taylor calm. He started to get fussy too. People are looking. Some just to stare rudely, others because of the sight of me and Perrie and Niall’s kids. You know how people are these days..
‘’Harry! Be gentle!’’ Perrie demands as she rolls her eyes. ‘’I’m trying.’’ I say as I pick up Tori and make her stand in front of me, her hands on my shoulders. I put my hand on her cheek, trying to get her to understand I’ll fix it once I know what’s wrong. I look at her lip. Its busted for sure. Poor thing. ‘’Shh..’’ I shush her and she begins to pipe down some.
Perrie hands me some napkins. At least we weren’t fall from the bathrooms. ‘’Its okay, love. Harry’s gonna fix it.’’ I assure her as I pat her lip gently with the slightly wet paper towels. ‘’Harry..’’ She mumbles.
‘’Yeah?’’ I ask as I continue the patting, trying to stop the bleeding. ‘’Can I call.. my daddy?’’ She asks me. ‘’Yeah love, just wait a few minutes until it stops, okay?’’ I say. She nods and I nod back, knowing that she understands now.
Its hard watching them. I’m glad I got Perrie though, I couldn’t handle both of them. Tori’s easier for me to take care of. The basics are simple for her age, but for the baby.. things aren’t that simple.
A few minutes later, the bleeding had slowed down, so I let Tori call Niall. I take out my phone as I get her situated, sitting on a bench beside me. I put it on speaker as I hold it towards her. Perrie paces patiently with Taylor in her arms, he’s almost asleep.
Its rings a few times, then Niall answers. ‘’Hello?’’ He says, sighing. ‘’Daddy.’’ Tori says lightly. ‘’Hey baby, does Harry know you have his phone?’’ he asks wonderingly. ‘’Yes.’’ She sighs, annoyed it seems. ‘’Okay.. you okay baby?’’ he asks worried. ‘’No. I fell..’’ She says. ‘’Are you hurt?’’ he says. ‘’I dunno.’’ Tori shrugs a little as she stares at the ground.
‘’Let me talk to Harry, babe.’’ Niall says. Tori pushes the phone away from her face. I put it up to my ear off turning the speaker off. ‘’Hey, its me.’’ I mumble as I look down at Tori. ‘’Hey, she okay?’’ He asks me.
‘’Yeah, she just slid on the floor and fell. Her lip was bleeding, but it stopped.’’ I tell him. ‘’Okay, are you guys at the house? Or what?’’ He asks.
‘’We’re at the mall. Perrie had to get a few things, and Tori wanted to go. So I just came too.’’ I answer his question. ‘’Oh, okay. Well, are they behaving? Or being brats?’’ He laughs lightly to himself. ‘’They’re perfectly fine, a few upsetting moments, nap time and stuff.. but overall, they’re both angels, as always.’’ I smile to myself.
‘’Good.. Let me talk to Tori real quick.’’ He says. ‘’Okay.’’ I put speaker back on and put the phone towards Tori. ‘’Tori, Daddy’s gotta tell ya somethin’.’’ He says. ‘’What?’’ She asks, pouting some. She’s really upset about her fall and stuff.
‘’I love you, and me and Mommy will be home soon, promise.’’ He assures her. ‘’I want you back now.’’ She sternly says. ‘’Soon, babe. I promise. Daddy loves you, okay?’’ ‘’Okay.. I love you too, Daddy.’’ She tells him with a light smile on her face.
‘’Mommy says she loves you, too.’’ He tells her. ‘’I love Mama, too.’’ She says. ‘’Okay, we’ll be back soon baby.. be a good girl. Love you princess. Bye bye.’’ He tells her.
‘’Bye bye.’’ She mumbles before he hangs up. Her eyes look up at me and then she looks away. Almost upset looking.
I wonder if she misses them, like more than she says she does.. the way she was responding, as if she hadn’t heard his voice in ages. I wonder if it feels like forever to her?
