Chapter 40: Birthday: Part 1
~A Few Nights Later..~
Niall’s POV
‘’Baby, you look amazing, by the way.’’ I mumble as I sit down in the booth beside Jana, her hand tightly holding mine as she looks across the table at Tori. ‘’Mama, when’s Taylor getting here?’’ Tori asks her, curiously. ‘’Any minute now, Pezzie should be coming soon.’’ Jana says.
Perrie offered to keep Taylor while we were doing stuff today. We went to the mall and got some stuff, and then me and Jana had some alone time. We watched movies, nothing sexual happened this time though.
Tori nods as she sighs and stares at me, her eyes wide open. ‘’What?’’ I ask, raising my eyebrows. ‘’Nothin’..’’ She shrugs lightly and I nod, taking that as a okay I guess. Jana lets go of my hand as her phone rings, a message. She looks at it and then shows me before sitting it back on the table top.
Perrie: On the way with Tay, be there soon! :)
I nod gently to her, letting her know that I read it and not just pretended to, like I do some times, but to other people, not Jana. That would make me a bad finance, and I don’t want that.
Under the table, I feel Jana’s hand touch my thigh and she leaves her hand there, her thumb slightly moving. I can hardly feel it through my jeans. “Hey.. Jana.’’ I sigh lightly and look over at her. She raises her eyebrows as she looks over at me, too.
‘’You okay, babe? You seem.. upset. Everything alright?’’ I whisper, trying to keep little ears from listening in, if you know what I mean. Because I know Tori loves to get in some one else’s business at times.
“I just miss my little baby.’’ She pouts her lips out as she leans towards me, wanting a little kiss in which I give to her, willingly, with out any hesitation. I peck her lips gently before she leans back, her hand moving from my thigh and back to her phone, she’s checking it to make sure she’s read everything she’s received today, some times she forgets.
I slide my arm around her lower back as she gets a little closer to me, her head slightly on my shoulder as she stares at the phone screen, the background picture is me, Tori and Taylor. We took it a few nights ago, Jana loves it a lot.
“What would you think.. about me.. maybe.. doing… online.. schooling?’’ She mumbles to me. I’m sorta shocked, she’s never mentioned anything like this before, it sorta makes me a little nervous to mention it now. Damn it, what do I say?!
“Um.. well, whatever you wanna do, love.’’ I say, trying to be the good guy here and let her decide her own choices for once. ‘’I think I want to.. just to know that I have a simple degree and stuff.’’ She mumbles under her breath slightly.
‘’But you got your diploma, didn’t you? And your cosmetology license, too?’’ I say, trying to spark up a conversation so she will assure herself I really do care, because I do. “Yeah.. but I got my diploma late and stuff.. it doesn’t matter, I was just thinking about it.’’ She says, annoyance in her voice as she leans off me and moves closer to the wall, and a way from me.
I bring my arm back to my side, just to keep her calm since she’s a tad upset at me now. ‘’Baby, all I did was ask.’’ I say, my hand touching her exposed thigh as she crosses her arms and shares at the city outside the window, watching people walk by in the cool night.
‘’Whatever. It doesn’t matter.’’ She sighs out as she huffs a little. ‘’Okay.. I’m sorry for saying anything. Just do what you wanna babe, I’ll support you no matter what happens.’’ I say to her and I see her nod as I glance over at her. At least now I know she’s okay.
About twenty minutes later, we already had our drinks and our food and were eating quietly, waiting for Pez to bring us the baby. Jana said earlier, before we left the house, that he was gonna look adorable in his outfit she picked for him and kindly told Perrie to put him in.
I hope she’s right, I really need cheering up. My birthday’s not going too good right now, silence and pressure.. that’s all I got at this moment in time.
