Chapter 29: Someone's Here To See You
Niall’s POV
Me and Jana wait for the nurses to bring the baby in the room so we can see him. We just got done doing all the papers and stuff. She’s lying on the hospital room bed, they moved us to a new room on a different floor. She’s sleeping good. I don’t want to disturb her.
Tori’s in here too. I want and got her earlier after Jana was situated in the bed. The nurse said we could have one more person in here, and I let Jana choose. She chose Harry, which I’m fine with. They’re close friends, so I’m perfectly fine with that.
I hear a few knocks and I look at the door to see it opening. A nurse comes in and turns the lights on, we only had light coming from the open bathroom door. I smile at them as I see them rolling him in in a bassinet type thing, I think. I don’t care! I want to see him!
“Jana.’’ I say as I grab her hand. ‘’Jana, wake up..’’ I say in her ear. ‘’No.. leave me alone..’’ She groans. ‘’Someone’s here to see you.’’ I whisper. She opens her eyes slowly and she leans up a little and smiles as soon as she sees exactly who I was talking about.
‘’Get Tori up!’’ She says, pushing me away from her and holding her arms out to the nurses, telling them to bring the baby to her.Jana quickly puts her glasses on. The doctor said it wouldn’t be good for her to wear her contacts because of all the straining she did. And she has a massive headache.
I wake up Tori, its not that hard to. I just pick her up and she wakes up. ‘’Daddy…’’ she mumbles as she lies her head on my shoulder. ‘’You want to meet your little brother?’’ I whisper in her ear. She leans up, smiling, as she nods.
“Hi there..’’ Jana whispers as I sit Tori on the bed beside her. ‘’Look Daddy! Its our baby!’’ She squeals happily. ‘’Okay, okay, what’s all the fuss. He can’t be that cute. Look who his dad is.’’ I hear Harry say, I guess he wants to see what he’s missing.
Harry walks to the other side of the bed and leans down to look at the baby. ‘’Well I’ll be..’’ He mumbles as he looks at Jana, smiling. Then up at me, laughing at his joke. ‘’He’s pretty cute.’’ He says as he leans up and sits back on the couch.
‘’He’s adorable!’’ Tori says as she reaches to touch him. ‘’Be careful..’’ Jana whispers to her, her voice cracking. ‘’Daddy.. what’s the baby’s name?’’ Tori asks, looking up at me. ‘’Taylor.’’ I say. ‘’I like that. That’s good.’’ She nods, judging our choices. ‘’Its perfect.’’ I whisper as I stare at him, he’s so cute. I love him so much.
He starts crying a little as his pacifier falls out his mouth. I was about to pick it up off the cover, but Tori beat me to it. ‘’its okay, Taylor. Here.’’ She mumbles as she gently sticks it back in his mouth.
‘’Jana, we haven’t given him any thing to eat yet, since you said you wanted to breastfeed. We have a bottle here, if you need it.’’ A nurse says as she rolls a cart over to us. It has some actual food for Jana, which I know she won’t eat, and the bottle she was talking about.
Jana nods and the ladies leave, thank god. I thought I would never get some peaceful time with my baby. ‘’I do.. need to feed him.’’ She sighs as she leans up a little. ‘’Tori..’’ She mumbles as she looks up at me.
‘’Tori, how ‘bout you go over there and watch TV with Harry.. for a little bit.’’ I insist and she nods a little. Before she gets up though, she leans over and places a soft kiss on Taylor’s forehead.
I try my best to block Tori’s view of Jana, I know she gets curious a lot. But I know Harry isn’t perverted, he won’t watch. “Get him for a sec.’’ She whispers. I lean down and gently take Taylor from her arms. Jana pulls the neckline of her shirt down, I turn away, not sure if she wants me to watch or not.
‘’Ni.’’ She laughs a little as I look over my shoulder and raise my eyebrows up at her. ‘’You can.. watch.’’ She tells me when a light smile as she motions for me to hand the baby back to her. I kiss his forehead softly before handing him back to Jana.
She gets prepared to feed him. I sit on the edge of the bed, admiring her amazing mothering skills. She holds him so perfectly, so gently. She’s perfect at everything.
