Ms. Perfect meets Mr. Nobody

Chapter One

I walk down the halls with a smile on my face. People stop to say hello every once in a while. Boys would stare and girls would compliment. I felt like queen. I felt like everyone liked me. And to be honest, everyone does.

Hey. I'm Delilah Eastridge. I'm captain of the girls basketball team and cheer captain of the cheerleading squad. I'm kinda popular in my school. Well, really popular. I can do almost everything perfectly and everyone says it too.

I know I sound like some spoiled brat that gets everything they want but I'm not really like that. My mom died a few years ago and my dad lost costody of me. Kind of a sour subject to me so I really don't want to talk about it. My grandma isn't exactlly rich so I buy my own things. Not a brat.

I rushed up to my friend, Nevaeh, and high fived her. She was on my basketball team till this year. This year's coach is more strict and doesn't let her play because she's in a wheelchair. She's paralized from the toes to her waist. No one knows why but it happened somehow.

"Hey, D." She says with a smile. I go behind her and start racing down the hall with her. She screams and laughs. Sometimes she says I'm her friend just to get attention. But she's actually cool.

"No running in the halls, Ms. Eastridge." Mr. Connelly, our principle, said. I smile at him and wheel her down the halls to her class. We talk about whatever. Anything that happened in the last hour.

"Hi, Delilah!"

"Hey!"

"Looking good as usual, D."

"Not as good as you."

"Good morning, Delilah!"

"Oh, yes it is." People greeted me down the hall. I walk her to science class and say goodbye, going to civics. Rachel McCarthy skips up to me. She's on my cheerleading squad. Definetly the preppiest girl I've ever met.

"Hey hey, D D!" She said with a big smile. I half wave. We walk to class together, talking about cheerleading. It's all we talk about. That's why we're not exactly besties like she thinks.

"Have fun, Del." I wave and walk in. My eyes lock with Johnny Delgrosso's. He's captain of the football team and criminal for stealing girls' hearts. Well, not mine. He smiles and escapes his posse.

"Hello there, Delilah." He said with a sly smile. I smile back, just to be nice. He sits on my desk and pulls a piece of paper off of it.

"Will you look at this? A note. I wonder what it says." He says. He knows what it says and I know it. Sarcasm is my specialty. I take it out of his hand and read it.

Dear Delilah,
Hey there, lovely. I know you've noticed my stares and my flirting. I'd just like to say you are the most beautiful girl I've ever met. Give me a chance and I'll be devoted to you.
Love,
Johnny

I look at him. He rubs the back of his neck awkwardly. I roll my eyes and hand him back the note. He was so confused.

"Oh please. How many note have you wrote for girls? How many times have you told them you're devoted to them? How LONG are each of your relationships? So, no. I won't give you a chance because I know you'll get bored of me and leave me heartbroken." I say. I'm not afraid to speak my mind.

Johnny stood up and walked away, throwing the note on the ground. I smirk and take a seat. I felt eyes burning the back of my head. I turn around to see a guy with dirty blonde hair in a quiff. Obviously dyed. He looked at me for a while but not the look a stranger gives to another but a stare that could kill.

"Alrighty then, class. Take out you're textbooks and open to page 362." Civics class was as terrible as every other day. I knew most of the things she tought us. And to be honest, it got boring. Ever time I turn around, I saw that guy glaring at me.

"Niall? Why don't you answer this question?" Mrs. Hubbard said. I turn to look at who everyone else was staring at. Him. He looked around with a red face.

"Uh... 28?" Everyone laughed. Mrs. Hubbard didn't like that answer. She pushed her glasses up her nose and glared at him.

"Wake up, Mr. Horan. We aren't in math. Though, I doubt you'd know the answer to those questions right, too." Everyone laughed but I keep a straight face. He sat up straight with a determined look on his face.

"Ah, yes. Math. Almost as stupid as civics. Not to burst you're bubble or anything but literally no one cares about this class."

"Mr. Horan. Do you want another day in detention?" She was done with him crap. So was I.

"Why not? I'm just telling the truth. I'm not perfect like some people." And he looked directly at me. That death stare again! What did I ever do to him?!

"See me after class."

"With pleasure."
