“For, you! It’s been one year since your video was uploaded to YouTube. Congrats!” Spencer handed me a bouquet of donuts. No, I’m serious. It was an actual donut bouquet.



“Thanks, Spenc! All because of you!” I hugged him as I left the studio. I hopped into my car and headed towards mine and Harry’s home. I’d been without Harry for a little over two weeks. It was hard, but we’d Skyped every night and talked on the phone at least three times a day.

I pulled into the driveway and saw an unfamiliar car.

That’s odd.

I pulled the donut bouquet out of the passenger seat and walked up to the house. The car outside was empty and the front door was unlocked. I entered cautiously, praying I wasn’t about to be murdered.

I heard the tv playing in the living room and as I rounded the corner I saw my little brother propped up on the couch.

“Carson, what are you doing here?! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”

“Just watching a little tv. Don’t shit yourself big sis.” He never turned his face from the tv.

“Watch your language!” I placed the donuts on the kitchen counter. “But really, what are you doing here?”

“We missed you honey! Are you not happy to see your parents?” My mom and dad came down the stairs.

“Well, yeah I miss you and I’m happy to see you, but can you please explain?” I set the rest of my things down in the floor and slumped onto the couch next to Carson.

My parents each took a seat in the living room after hugging me.

"Harry called and asked if we were busy this week. Your father and I both had some unused vacation time and it’s Carson’s spring break. Harry mailed us a spare key to the place and told us to come keep you company for a few days. Plus, I miss my baby girl.” My mom smiled.

Thanks for the warning, Harry.

“Well, it’s nice to have you guys here.” I smiled.

I really was glad to see them, but was just a bit sour since I’d planned to lie in bed for the rest of the day. Now I actually had to wear pants for the next three days.

“It’s a beautiful place! And Harry is the sweetest boy! I’m so glad you’re happy!” My mom rambled on and on.

I needed her to quit being so giddy and snap back into normal mode so that we could resume our normal relationship, but right now she was just being annoying. My phone began to ring and I jumped off the couch to pull it from my purse.

“It’s Harry! I’m going to step outside to speak with him, but make yourselves at home.” I slipped out of the sliding door and took a seat on the deck that overlooked the beach.

“Hey baby!” Harry chimed.

“I may or may not kill you.” I joked.

“So you’re home, then.” He laughed.

“I’m home and I’m surrounded by my family when I wanted to be naked and in bed with donuts and Netflix.” I huffed.

“Your life is soooo tough.” He teased.

“No, really thanks. I’d actually been planning on seeing them soon. It’s been too long.” I smiled, loving how well he knew me.

“I just don’t want you to be moping around in LA like you do. Make friends, go out, drink too much – just don’t kiss Zayn ever again.” Harry giggled.

“Trust me, I won’t.” I laughed, too.

“So he’s a bad kisser, huh?”

“Harry!” I yelled.

“I’m doing much better this time around with the moping thing.” I reassured him.

“Okay, as long as you promise. Now go back inside and spend some time with your family. I love you.”

“Love you too, Haz.” I hung up the phone and looked out at the ocean. I really loved him and he’d been sweet enough to send my family to me. I made up my mind to show them all around LA and to enjoy myself while doing it. I hopped up from my seat and skipped inside.

“Okay guys, what part of LA do you wanna see first?” I stopped dead in my tracks.

“Harry?!”

He was sitting on the couch with my family, talking and laughing.

“What? I was just on the phone – how did you – wait – what?” I was beyond confused.

Harry stood up from the couch and wrapped his arms around me. “We have tomorrow off and I wanted to spend it with you and your family.”

“So you guys knew about this?” I turned to face my parents. They both nodded with huge smiles on their faces. I ran to the couch and hugged them both.

“I love all four of you!” I shouted. Everyone laughed.

“So, what do you want to do today?” My mom looked at me.

“Oh no, no. It’s your guys’ day! You don’t come to LA often so we’re going wherever you want!” I replied.

“How about we just drive around and you two show us all the hotspots?” My dad suggested.

“Yeah, and take us down Rodeo Drive!” Carson added.

The five of us hopped into the car and drove through LA’s most famous places. We ate a fancy dinner after touring around and then decided to head back to Harry’s house.

We had the most fun out together and I loved the way that Harry fit right in with my family. He cracked jokes with my dad and brother while flattering my mom. Everyone loved him.

When we arrived back at the house, my parents retired up to their room. Harry and I did too, leaving Carson alone to the tv. Harry and I were both so exhausted, we didn’t even speak. We just curled up in bed and drifted off into sleep.

(Harry’s POV)

“I’m not saying I’m proposing anytime soon, but I know that we don’t get to see you as often as we’d like and I wanted to be sure to have your blessing.” I explained myself to Leah’s parents.

I’d woke early, cooked a big breakfast, and laid everything out on the back deck. I’d asked her parents to come down early so that I could speak with them. Leah and her brother were still asleep so I didn’t have to worry about her overhearing our conversation.

Leah’s dad looked out over the ocean before answering.

“Harry, we can see how much the two of you love one another. I’ve prayed for a long time that whoever my little girl would marry would have all the qualities of a good man. And you Harry, you have every single quality that I’d ever want in Leah’s husband. You have our blessing.”

They both smiled at me and I stood to hug the both of them.

“You’ll be the first ones we contact after! Thank you so much!” I was grinning uncontrollably. I took the juice bowl inside to refill it. As I poured the juice I looked up to see my sleeping beauty coming down the stairs.

“Hey.” She mumbled, still half-asleep.

“Hey sunshine! Come on, breakfast is on the balcony!” I grabbed the bowl and made a goofy face. She giggled and slapped my bum.

“Thank you for being so perfect!” She grinned and led the way outside.

(Leah’s POV)

Everyone was in such a good mood today, especially my parents and Harry. I couldn’t explain it. Everyone was all smiles. We had breakfast together and then took a stroll down the beach. After that, everyone got ready to go do a little shopping on Rodeo Drive before Harry had to leave.

We pulled up to LAX and my parents let Harry and I out of the car so we could say our goodbyes.

“I’m going to miss you so much.”

I looked down to my feet. Harry immediately tilted my chin up and kissed me.

“I’ll miss you more.” A smirk played out onto his face. “But hey, now we only have to say that there’s a month and a half left until we see each other again.”

“True!” I nodded. He pulled me in for a hug and I held on tight, never wanting to let go.

“I love you Leah.” He pulled away and picked up his things. His eyes looked wet and that’s when I lost it.

“I love you Harry.”

I wiped my eyes quickly so he wouldn’t see. He turned to go, but blew me a kiss before he entered the doors of the airport. I calmed myself enough to face my family and headed for the car.

The next two days with my family were fun. They kept my mind off of Harry. They accompanied me to the studio and we let Carson record a song. We all decided that I inherited all of the vocal talent in the family.

Spencer and his family joined us for dinner one night and we all had plenty of laughs. When it came time for my parents to leave, I didn’t want them to go. I hadn’t realized how much I’d truly missed them.

“We’ll visit again soon, honey. Or you could always come home with us today.” My mom tried, but she knew I had work. I laughed and promised her I’d visit home as soon as I got a break.

“We love you, honey! Be safe!” My dad hugged me.

“Bye loser.” Carson hugged me. “I’m visiting again soon.”

I waved goodbye as they headed inside the airport.

“Leah, that’s a good cut!” Spencer cheered as I removed my headphones. “We need to talk. See you in my office?”

“Sure, be there in a second!” I grabbed my bottled water and followed him down the hallway.

We both took a seat and he clicked through some emails.

“Here it is. Look, I know it’s only been about ten months since you’ve signed with Amtrex, but they’ve called me about you signing a longer contract. The contract you signed last year was only for one year. They want to extend it and sign you for three years. You’ll be making music, playing shows, etcetera with Amtrex for the next three years. It’s a big commitment, but if I were you I’d take the amazing opportunity. They’re a wonderful company and they don’t offer full term contracts to just anyone. You should be proud of yourself! I need to know by Friday, so mull it over this week and let me know!” He stood from his chair. “Have a good Monday!”

With that, Spencer left. And I felt so conflicted. Harry and I had yet to discuss what we were doing after this two months. He’d surely have to live in London for his career. If I signed this contract, I’d have to stay in LA. As much as I loved my career, I loved Harry more. The thought of spending all my time in London with him made me shiver with excitement. Emma had just recently left to tour with the boys full time and I was insanely jealous because she was having the time of her life.

It was something I would really have to consider. Did I want to take things with Harry a step further, or did I want to strengthen and expand my career?
