All I Ever Wanted

Forever

"Emma, I didn't get to hear the full story of how he proposed!" Lou pouted as we searched through racks to find the cutest baby clothes for little Alana.

Today was our full day of shopping in New York. We'd been to several stores so far and had already spent way too much money. The boys were off and about in the city too, probably up to their usual mischevious ways.

"Well, it's a long story, but so sweet." Emma began.

"Are you ladies ready for our evening?" Niall held his hand out for Emma and helped her step into the vintage car he'd rented for the night. Emma took his hand and giggled.

"Wow, what did I do to deserve this kind of treatment?" She awed at the car as the driver made his way down the busy street.

"You made me fall in love with you." Niall kissed her hand, causing her to blush.

The car pulled up to a tall building. "Nialler, isn't this the Empire State Building?" Emma asked, suddenly quite confused. "I thought we were going to dinner?"

"Just wait and see, love!"

He helped her out of the car and into the massive building. The two made their into the elevator. Niall pressed the button for the highest floor. Emma fidgeted with the sleeve of her shirt. She was terrified of heights. Niall seemed to notice her nerves and pulled her into his side.

"I've got you, babe. Don't worry." He smiled, settling her.

That's what he always did for her - he calmed her. He made her feel completely okay and she knew in that moment that no matter how scared she was of having a child, or going to the highest floor of a massive building, or how worried she was about their future, Niall would be there and he would make it all okay.

The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Emma's breath caught in her throat as the room before her came into view. Niall had reserved the observation room. There were huge windows that spanned from the floor to the ceiling. Only one table sat in the room, with two chairs. The white tablecloth was adorned with black napkins and silver utensils. The entire room was dimly lit and candles flickered all around the room. The busy city that lay just outside of the glass windows shown brightly in the night sky. A violinist was positioned in the corner of the room, allowing soft music to fill the room. It was a sight that Emma would never forget.

Niall took her hand and led her down a path of rose petals, to the table. He pulled her chair out for her and they both took their seats. A waiter came out with a delicious looking meal.

"Niall, I don't understand. This is beautiful. But, why?" Emma could barely find her voice. No one had ever done something so wonderful for her.

"Because, Emma I love you with all of my heart. And I love our little girl. There are no two people on this earth that mean as much to me as you two do, and you both deserve only the best."

Niall stood from his seat and took Emma's hands, gently lifting her from her seat.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with my two beautiful girls."

Niall dropped down to one knee and pulled out a blue box. Emma's hand covered her mouth as she realized what was going on.

"Emma James, will you do me the honor of being my wife?"

Tears slipped down Emma's cheeks as she nodded 'yes.' Niall stood and cupped her face in his hands.

"I love you, Emma."

"I love you, Niall. I can't wait to marry you!"

Emma kissed him as passionately as she ever had. He made her world go 'round and now he wanted to keep her in his world for forever. It was an indescribable feeling and her heart soared at the thought of becoming Mrs. Niall James Horan.

"We spent the rest of the night eating, laughing, talking about our future, and enjoying the view. It was by far the best night of my life."

Emma couldn't take the smile off of her face. It was absolutely precious.

"Ahh, I knew Niall would pull it off well." Lou smirked.

"You knew about this?!" I almost shouted, causing a few women to turn our way. Emma and Lou giggled.

"He said he had to tell someone besides his mum. And he knew any of you would spoil the surprise." Lou elbowed me.

"Yeah. That was probably smart of him." I laughed.

"Look at this!" Lou held up a pink tutu.

"Oh my God, Lou! I'm buying that for her!" Emma reached for the outfit, but Lou snatched it away.

"No you're not!" Lou teased. "I'm buying it for my perfect little niece, Alana. That way, when people ask her where she got her rockin' sense of style, she can say her Auntie Lou." We all giggled.

(Harry's POV)

"Niall, no offense, but do we have to go to the jewelry store today?" Louis complained.

"I have no other time! Plus, I told her I'd get the ring fixed today. It's too big. She needs them to make it one size smaller. It won't take long at all." Niall explained as we pulled up outside of Tiffany's. The five of us climbed out of the car and headed inside.

The store was quite nice. I'd never been inside, but the jewelry was all gorgeous and laid out very elegantly. Liam and I walked around, looking at the different diamonds.

"I really need to find Dani one." Liam commented, stopping to look at a vintage engagement ring. "I just don't think now is the time with both of our careers right now. Life is hectic and she might even hate me if I added the stress of a wedding." Liam laughed.

"Yeah, I don't know either. I obviously want to marry Leah, but we haven't had a serious talk about it. She has her music career and I have mine. I don't see us splitting up or anything like that, I just don't know how a wedding would sit with her right now. I'd do it in a heartbeat, though." I continued to look in all the glass cases.

"The way she looks at you mate, that's how you know. And that girl looks at you like you're all she's ever wanted." Liam patted my shoulder and walked off to find Zayn and Louis.

I continued to walk down the row of glass display cases. I thought about what he said. Leah and I did love one another. I'd never felt for anyone what I feel for her. I knew marrying her was what I wanted and I could only hope she'd feel the same. Marriage was right for us, but later down the road. I shook the thoughts and decided to find the boys. I walked down the aisle, spotting them immediately. I made my way towards them, but a glimpse of something stopped me dead in my tracks.

It was perfect, unique, not too flashy, but elegant enough to make any other woman jealous - it was just like Leah. The single diamond in the middle that was surrounded by smaller ones was gorgeous. It shined in the light in all the right ways.

"Can I help you, sir?" A salesman interrupted my trance.

"Actually, yes. May I take a look at that ring?" I pointed. He removed the ring from the glass case and let me hold it. I admired it. Leah would absolutely love it.

"I'll take it."

As I paid the man, I noticed the boys staring. I finished up and made my way over to them.

"Ready, mates?"

They all kind of nodded, giving me crazy stares. We hopped into the car.

"Um, mate. Care to explain?" Zayn broke the silence.

"I saw it and it was her. It's perfect." I spoke.

"So you're proposing?" Louis asked.

"I have the perfect girl and the perfect ring, but I don't think now is the perfect time. You all know how much I love her. I just want to be ready. I don't know when the right time will be, but I know I've got everything else right. It'll happen and you lads will be the first to know." I smiled.

"Proud of you, mate." Liam threw his arm around my shoulder.

"Yeah, you found a good girl. And you too are good together." Louis added. The boys all commented on how happy and proud they were.

"Just don't let this slip out, okay?" I joked.

Everyone laughed and promised to keep it a secret.

"Good, now what are we doing for lunch?"

(Leah's POV)

I said my goodbyes to Emma and Lou and slid the key into the hotel door. It was around 5 in the evening and I had a hot date with Harry Styles.

Holy shit, I'm still not used to saying that.

The shopping day with the girls had gone quite well. We'd stocked little Alana up on clothes for the first twenty years of her life, and then even bought a few things for ourselves. Tonight was our last night in New York. Tomorrow I would leave for LA and the boys would hit Canada, and then head back to Europe. That meant I'd be away from Harry for two whole months. The thought sent waves of nausea throughout my body.

I walked into our hotel room to find Harry lying in the bed, watching TV.

"Hey lover!" I jumped onto the bed, shedding my shoes and climbing on top of Harry.

I laid on top of him so that we were belly to belly.

"How was your day?"

He laughed and reached up to peck my lips. "It was a really good day, baby. How was yours?"

"Good! Alana is already spoiled rotten! What did you boys get into?" I traced the swallows on his chest.

"Ahh nothing too exciting. We just toured the city, did a little shopping, and a little eating. What do you want to do tonight?"

"Stay just like this." I smiled, looking up from tracing his body art.

"I could do this forever."

"Mmm, so could I."
