My Guitar

Concert Pt. 3

I ended up playing a dozen more songs with them, then turning to walk away just to be brought back up for the last song. Great. At least it's the last song, right? My fingers were starting to hurt, I hadn't played that much in a very long time. It better be the last song. The Blondie came back over, handed my guitar off to a stage hand, and pulled me to the middle with the other boys and girls. They all struck a pose, and the girls looked at each other, shrugged, and struck similar poses to 'their boy'. It really meant that I stood back to back with Blondie. The band started up, and the boys started singing. Suddenly there was a football on the stage, and I couldn't help myself. I tackled the boy trying to dribble it across the stage, and basically owned them. Oops.
Then Blondie literally, like, tackled me to the ground. He helped me up, both giggling. When I realised what was going on, I immediately looked to the floor. Then Blondie started singing. I heard gasps, so I assumed this was out of the norm.
"Baby you light up my world like nobody else,
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed,
But when you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell,"
And then the rest of the boys came in. I wasn't really paying attention, trying to figure out the chords. You could tell the person using my guitar was using a pick... Nothing definite came out. I just shook my head, refocusing. Blondie got a hurt look on his face, but, trying to keep up a good public face, just kept singing. He was extremely civil towards me until the end of the concert, when the lights went out and he stalked off the stage. One of the other boys handed me a slip of paper, but I wasn't paying attention to that either. What was his deal? I was trying to... to refocus. He thought I wasn't paying attention at all, or that I was denying him, or something. Nothing good. I ran towards the boys leaving the stage, Blondie long gone.
"Oi!" They turned. "I... Tell Blondie that's not what I meant. And tell him my name's Piper. Please?" They just nodded. "Thank you." Then I ran off to find Tess.
