Collision

"What are you doing for Halloween?" Anna asks me as I sit down beside her in Chemistry the next day.

"Uh, nothing?" I say and get my things out for class. Halloween isn't for another three weeks, what is she talking about?

"Great, there is a Halloween party next weekend and I want you to come!" She claps from my answer and smiles.

"That sounds great." I reply. Our family never celebrates for Halloween, other than going to the occasional party. It would be nice to get out of the house and start to get to know everyone in this town.

Anna tells me the plans for the party as we're set to work on a project. Liam and Cameron help us and we're finished before any of the other groups. We spend the remainder of the time chatting before being dismissed by the bell.

"Did you and Harry work it out?" Anna asks me as we exit the classroom. I almost forgot about our conversation yesterday. I haven't seen Harry at all today, maybe he's regretting meeting up with me.

"I guess so." I shrug and open my locker. Even though we talked yesterday, I still don't know if everything is worked out. He only seemed like he wanted to do it because he needed to finish the project.

"That's great because he'll be at the party and I don't want you to get uncomfortable and not come." Anna smiles.

"Wonderful," I mutter and put my Chemistry textbook into the locker. We stay silent as we walk towards the cafeteria. We sit down in our usual seats after getting lunch and I'm surprised to see who's taken the empty seat beside me.

"Hey," Cameron smiles at me as I sit down. His blonde hair pushed up and he actually looks sort of cute. He grins when he catches me looking at him and I snap my head over to look at Anna.

Lunch passes by awkwardly and I'm thankful to sit down in Stats. My now empty chair beside me has been occupied by Harry who is waiting for me when I sit down. He's wearing his usual black outfit but that doesn't take away from how good he looks.

"Hi." I chirp and sit down. We're one of the few people in here and I'm thankful to get somewhat of privacy.

"I heard you're going to the Halloween party." He says. Wow, word must travel fast in this school.

"Anna invited me. I might as well try to meet some of the people in this town." I laugh. So far I can count the people I know on one hand and it's almost been two weeks. Even though I'm not the most social person, I should get to know the people I'll be graduating with.

"It's fine if you don't have friends." Harry teases and I swat his arm.

"I have friends." I cross my arms. I do have friends, just not a lot.

"Is that why I see you hanging out with Cameron and Anna almost every day?"

"Well I don't see you swarmed by people either." I knit my eyebrows.

"I just don't like people." He shrugs.

"How are you supposed to meet people with that attitude?" I joke.

"You and I became friends. Isn't that meeting someone?" He asks, suddenly looking uncomfortable. "Against my will of course." He adds.

He considers us friends? I just thought he would think of me as some new girl he's forced to tutor. This news makes my heart warm.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes and note the class beginning to fill up. I take out my book for this class and try to listen to the teacher drone on about direct variation. I look at Harry out of the corner and feel something I've never felt before when I was with him.

This chapter sucks but it needed to happen :( Anyways, there will be more updates this weekend, maybe even today, if my views make it into the 900's!
