My Protector

Chapter Nine

I awoke in the middle of the night as I heard rumbling downstairs.

"Louis wake up!" I whisper yell while shaking him.

"Katalyna I just did it." he mumbles

"Louis wake up!" I whisper again.

"Katalyna right there" he moaned

"Louis wake up!" I say as I slap him

"What?" He says as he jumps up.

"I heard something. Go see what it is."

Louis gets up and grabs his gun from off of the nightstand and throws on some clothes. He starts easing down the steps as the noise gets louder. I bite my lip and then release it as I fear for Louis. I hear Louis grunt and then a struggle. A lot of noise is made downstairs and I was completely scared. I put on my bra, underwear, and Louis' shirt. I ease down the steps as they creek every time I step. It was completely dark and all I could do was shake.

I walk around when I see a knife on the floor. I pick it up as I try not to make much noise. I feel someone is watching me and it scares me dearly. I walk into the kitchen and immediately greeted with a puddle but with it being so dark I don't know what it is. I feel two hands grab the hand I have my knife in and another over my mouth to muffle my screams. I turn around see it was Louis.

He pulls me into the closet with him and hugs me. I hug him back and he pushes me against the wall when he hears a noise. Louis reloads his gun and opens the closet door slowly and slides out. I hear he shout in pain and then 4 gunshots. I tremble in fear and slide down the wall. A loud thump approaches the floor and my curiosity grows as I wonder who's body met the floor. I get a grip on the knife and slowly open the door sliding out trying to make no noise. I hear footsteps running towards me and I spin around to see who it is.

I squint to see who it is and it wasn't Louis. I walk backwards as I trip over a body, but not just any body it was Louis. I scream in fear as I tremble in fear while covering my mouth. The figure approaches me and cuts me across my face. I scream as I try to fight him off not knowing when I dropped my knife. He gets on top of me and starts chocking me. I squeal as his grip gets tighter around my neck. I reach desperately for the gun that was 2 cm away from my arms' length.

I lift my hands to his face and begin to gouge his eyes. He screams out in terror and release me I scoot over to the gun and aimed it at him. But then I noticed that Louis wasn't lying on the floor anymore. I closed my eyes and shot until the chamber was empty. I open my eyes to see the figure of a large man on the ground. I stand over him and his eyes shoot open.

I scream as he trips my legs from under me. I throw my hands all over the place hitting every inch of him I can. He grunts with every throw I crawl furiously over to his face and start biting him but he throws his arms up and I run to grab the glass pitcher of of the table. He gets up and I chase after him with the pitcher above my head. I catch up to him and I bash him over the head with it.

"Who are you!" I scream

But there was no responce and I was utterly furious. I turn around to grab a knife but when I turned back he wasn't there. I looked around trying to find a trace of where he went but there was nothing.

"Katalyna oh god!" Louis shouts before tumbling to the floor.

"Louis where are you?" I say while finding his body lying on the ground. I run towards the phone and dial 9-1-1.

"9-1-1 what's your emergency?"a male with a raspy voice answers.

"D-D-D-Detective Tomlinson has been hurt." I cry

"Ok ma'am please keep calm give me your address and I will send a squad car to your location."

"Uh...5689 North Drive."

"Ok ma'am hang tight."

I hung up the phone and waited by the door as the sirens approached the house. I fling the door open and walked outside as a police officer grabbed me. I looked up to see Detective Moss (From Chapter 7)

"I'm glad you came Louis is hurt and I-I-I." I stutter.

"Come with me let's get you some clothes." he says

He walks me upstairs and waits outside the bathroom while I get dressed. I open the door and walk out and he walks me to his.
