Life, Cars and One Direction... Wait What?!

Chapter 14: You can’t wear that to an interview

Louis POV
“Hey, morning love. You need to get up, you’ve got an interview in two hours.” Codie said as she opened the door and started being spastic with the light. On, off, on, off, on ,off, on-
“Freaking hell Codie, can you please stop that?” I shouted. She continued on.
“Only if you get up love.” I gave her a death glare, but flicked my sheets off. I put my feet on the ground and sat up.
“I’m up, now please stop with the flashing, I could become epileptic with that shit.” I say as I stood up and stretched.
“Good” was all she said. She stopped trying to give me an epileptic shock and closed the door, leaving me to put my clothes on. I put on a pale blue and white striped shirt, red pants and white canvas shoes. Right, breakfast. I went to the top floor kitchen and got some cereal, with milk. I ate it within two minutes and ran downstairs. Codie was sitting on the couch in old trackies and jumper.
“You can’t wear that to an interview.” I pointed out.
“Who said I’m going to the interview?” She asked. “I take care of you and I am your girlfriend. I am not some person who you drag around to show off to people.” I looked at her.
“When have I ever done that… or anything like that?” I asked, saying it slowly.
“Never. I just always imagined going out with a celebrity and saying that. The thing is with you, the chances of you doing that are so low it’s underground. I just thought I’d put it out there.” She said.
“That doesn’t change the fact you’re going to the interview. Come on, move your butt, get something nice on and let’s get the hell out of here.” I convinced her to go, I hope.
“There’s not enough seats in the car, I won’t fit, and I am not wasting fuel.” I smirked at her.
“It’s a seven seater Codie.” I said simply.
“Well… I don’t want to go.” She said quietly.
“I don’t care. I am always there for you, it’s just one interview. Look, I’ll wake the guys up, you go get changed.” She jumped up at that offer and sprinted up the stairs. I know her, if she doesn’t have to wake the rest of the guys up, she’ll do whatever you ask her to. I went to Zayn’s door first and opened it.
“Time to get up sleeping beauty.” I shouted as I opened the curtains.
“Go away Louis.” He said as he pulled his sheets over his head.
“Interview in just under two hours, get your arse out of bed.” I said as I walked out of the room. Right, next was Liam. I opened the door to find Liam already up and getting ready. “I’ll leave you to it then.” I said as I moved onto the next room. Niall. This was going to be interesting.
I flung open the door and went straight to the bed. I grabbed his shoulder and shook it, I could only grab one shoulder with my cast and everything. That didn’t work, right, this wasn’t going to work. “LIAM! CAN I HAVE SOME HELP HERE?!” I shout as Niall doesn’t move or respond or do anything. This guy could sleep through a stampede, and he was in the middle of it. Liam ran into the room, probably thinking I had hurt myself… again.
“Help me wake this guy up would ya? Just shake both his shoulders.” I asked, and directed him.
“Why shake him? You know it’s not going to work right. Why not go for something else? I think you know what I’m getting at.” He said slyly. I knew exactly what he was talking about. We found the things we needed and the next thing we knew we were pouring a bucket of water straight onto Niall’s head.
“WHAT THE FREAKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!” He shouted as he jumped about 4 feet in the air.
“Getting… you… out of… bed!” I tried to say in between laughs. I was rolling on the ground in a laughing fit.
“Why?” he asked like a five year old.
“Interview… in… about… two hours.” Liam tried saying through his laughing fit. Then Zayn came to the door asking what was going on, when he saw Niall he understood perfectly and joined us on the ground, laughing. Then it was Codie who joined us next. When we all stopped we realised that Harry was still in bed.
“Guys, where’s Harry?” I asked as we all stood up. We all looked around the room and the bottom floor. He should be up if he heard us laughing and he is usually up by now. We all went upstairs and found his door was closed. This was going to be weird, I never have to wake Harry up, well, most of the time. I looked at the guys, and Codie pushed her way through to the front so she would be right behind me when we opened the door. I slowly opened the door and turned on the light.
“HARRY!” I screamed as I found him in bed, shirtless (maybe more, didn’t really want to know), next to a girl.
“AMELIE?!” Codie yelled, kind of a question and statement.
“Holy shit” Harry said as he pulled the sheets over his head.
“Oh my god, just shut the f*cking door already!” Amelie shouted as she pulled the sheets over her head as well. We shut the door and looked at each other.
“Were they both naked?” Zayn asked, probably not wanting to know the answer.
“I really don’t know, but I think so, yeah.” Codie said slowly. Okay gross images in head, oh Jesus.
“Right… you look beautiful Codie.” I said, changing the subject, as we walked down the stairs.
“Thank you Louis.” She said as we all sat down in the couch, all a bit dazed by what we just saw. She was wearing a strapless dress which was black and skin tight until her hips, then turned into an electric blue, puffy skirt that came to just above her knees. Her shoes were a pair of heels that matched her dress and her hair was up in a high ponytail. She only wore a Pandora bracelet with a few beads and mascara. What happened to my girlfriend?
“How did Amelie get into the house, without anyone else knowing?” Codie said, she wanted to know how she got past Codie’s defences, not that she has any… that I know of…
“Why did you wear a dress?” I asked changing the subject.
“You told me to wear something nice, so I did. Probably the only one I own, that I like… kind of. I prefer this one over the others. By the way, I’m using your jacket when we’re outside, and when I’m cold in general.” This was her way of saying, ‘you are going to regret this, mate’.
“Not like I’m going to wear it much anyway.” I said smiling. She knew I wasn’t going to, she just thought it would look cute. I can tell by her little smile that’s exactly what she thought. Finally Harry and Amelie came down and we got into the car with a complete awkward silence. I sat in the very back with Codie. Harry was next to Amelie and Zayn in the middle row while Liam was driving with Niall at shotgun.
Codie sat shivering next to me so I put my jacket over her shoulders. She looked at me as if to say thank you and I looked back at her, into those beautiful eyes, again. We must have lost track of time, singing along to songs and joking around, because we were at the place sooner than expected. Well, the first place anyway. First we had to change cars to a black van to look official, and to have a different driver.
Then we got to the place, and I tried to get Codie prepared for what was going to happen.
Codie’s POV
Be prepared for hair pulling and clothes grabbing, he said. It should be fine, he said… This sounds great! Why did I think going out with this guy was a good idea? I looked at Amelie. She gave me a toothless smile, I gave her a half-hearted one. This is the first time I have been out in public and it’s been organised. Always time for a first… right? Louis grabbed my hand as the van door slid open and pulled me out after Harry and Amelie went out.
The rest of the guys followed me so there was less chance of someone pulling out my hair. We eventually made it through the crowd, with watery eyes and hurting head, but I made it. When Louis said that this crowd wasn’t too bad, my eyes widened. In my head I was screaming at him, ‘there could be worse!’ but then I realised that it could be. I couldn’t say anything at the time because I was in shock.
Now I sat comfortably on a chair watching as my boyfriend sat on a couch next to the rest of his band. I smiled at the thought of thinking that I hated this guy once. It was kinda funny actually.
“So, Louis, have you moved on from Eleanor?” the interviewer asked. I just felt like shouting ‘nah’ to him.
“Yeah, I have.” Obvious. How many times have we been caught kissing? Twice I hear you say? Yes, when we were in the park, we got snapped and on camera when I kicked that guys arse. The article on him moving on had a few pictures, of us sitting on the bench, of us walking around holding hands, the main picture was of us kissing though. Luckily they got the back of my head so I didn’t look like an idiot.
“Who is the lucky girl?” the interviewer (BTW, it’s a girl for future referencing) asked.
“You don’t know her?” he said, cocking his head to the side. Smirk on, eyes glinting. “Because you should.” He finished.
“What’s her name?” She asked, how stupid is this girl?
“Codie, Codie Badress.” He said.
“Is she in the audience today?” Finally, a valid question.
“Yes, she is. Right there.” He said while he pointed to me. The cameras turned towards me, and I put on a smile. I raised a hand to about shoulder height, kind of waving and saying hi to Australia. Suss. By the way Louis looked at me, I think I was doing the right thing. I felt like a complete dick doing it though.
“So, Codie. You’re the new V8’s racer, right?” She asked the obvious, again.
“Yeah, I am.” I said nervous. I was speaking to all of Australia, this was creepy.
“Hey, why doesn’t she come up here with us?” Louis had to make it worse for me didn’t he? I gave him a hidden death glare that only he could see, and kept my cool with everyone else.
“Lou, there’s not enough room on the couch for me.” I said, stating the obvious.
“You can sit on my lap.” He says, I give him a look of pure death.
“Louis…” I start, not exactly knowing what to say.
“Please Codie?” he asks, not knowing if I would do it or not. I had the eyes of everyone in the room upon me. I could feel their weight and it felt like a tonne or two, at least.
“Okay Louis, I will.” Not like I had much choice anyway. I stood up and walked to Louis, then fell on his lap. I shivered under the lights, they may have been warm, but the air was freaking freezing. Louis put his jacket over my shoulders, he took it off of me in the van. I felt calmer with him next to me… under me. Let me rephrase that, I felt calmer when I was near him.
Luckily he was sitting on the end of the couch, so I could sort of sit on the arm of it. I looked in his eyes for a split second. That split second was enough to give him an ‘I’m going to kill you when we get home’. Luckily, no one else noticed.
“So, Codie, what was your first race like?” The interviewer asked. Wasn’t this the boy’s interview, not mine?
“Um, well, it was fast, smelt of petrol and wasn’t my best.” Everyone laughed at that for some reason. To be honest it was kind of creepy.
“Why wasn’t it your best? It was your first race and you came tenth out of twenty-one, how does that make sense?” I rolled my eyes, this chick was starting to annoy me.
“I could have won, but I missed crucial cut-offs and didn’t turn the corners very well.” I looked down, I was complete shit at that race.
“You were still amazing.” Louis said, kissing my cheek. I think I blushed a little, I couldn’t be sure.
“No I wasn’t, I was terrible. This was before we were going out anyway, you ninny.” I said poking his shoulder.
“How long have you been going out for?” I looked at Louis. It was Wednesday right?
“Do you count my birthday party Lou?” I asked. He nodded and I looked at him like ‘you can say something, mate’.
“Six days” Louis said happily. This is going very well. This is still, and probably forever, going to be my longest relationship.
“How did you meet?” Louis looked at me after that question. I winked at him, I had a story, it wasn’t the truth but it wasn’t a total lie either.
“We’re staying at the same place. My rooms right next to them.” I know, simple, easy and believable.
“Is there any back story? The story of how you got together?” The chick asked.
“Well, when I first saw her, I knew. I knew we were together, from the very first moment I saw her.” That was a bit repetitive.
“Actually, I hated One Direction. So when I found out I was right next to them, I kind of wanted to run downstairs to the reception and change rooms. Then I couldn’t, so I stayed, glad I did. He wouldn’t stop pestering me, asking me out. When I realised that my birthday party only happened because of him, I finally gave in and gave him a chance. If he would do that for me, I should go on one date with him, right?” I said, getting more laughs from the crowd.
“So, would you like to show us a kiss?” I looked at Louis. I hadn’t kissed on purpose in front of cameras or public in general on purpose. Louis flicked the hood on his jacket that was on me, on my head. Jeez that’s technical.
“Yeah okay.” Louis said, ignoring my scarededness apparently. He winked at me, he had a plan. This better freaking work Louis. I leant in towards him, and he reached for my neck to pull me towards him, wait, he was going for the hood.
Our lips crashed together, but we were hidden from the cameras and the audience because of the hood. When we pulled apart I looked into his eyes and shook my head. He was going to hear about this for a while.
“Moving on, when’s your next race Codie?” The interviewer asked.
“Actually, it’s this weekend, at the Gold Coast.”
