Chapter 11: Get out of my house God dammit!
Codie POV
“Morning love” I said to Louis as I sat down on the couch next to him.
“Morning babe.” He said as he put an arm around me. I looked at the T.V.
“What are you watching?” I asked, I already knew, I was just making sure.
“Young Justice!” the rest of the boys said in sync. I looked at them all through squinty eyes.
“I’m proud of you, you’re actually watching something other than Toy Story Liam!” I clapped my hands. Then stopped. “Wait, you’re watching kid’s cartoons. Wow, not sure if that’s better or not.”
“Says you! You’re watching them as well.”
“I see your point Liam. I forgive you. I’m proud of you for not watching Toy Story!”
“Oh shut up already.” he said smiling. I looked at him with a fake death glare, aka. A death glare with a massive smile. “I can see right through that Codie.” he said.
“You’re supposed to Liam.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, don’t feel so smart now do ya?”
“Shut up you guys, cliff hanger ending here, that I wanna watch” Harry said as he leaned towards the T.V. That’s the thing with kid’s shows, worst episode endings ever. I bet the writers go, ‘if we have a picture of something totally predictable with suspenseful music, it’ll leave ‘em hanging for more!’ and really we go, ‘wow, that was one shitty ending!’
“Wow, that was one shitty ending!” Niall shouted, see my point here? I watched as this comment started an all-out argument throughout the whole group. Harry screaming with Liam that it was awesome, and Niall and Zayn both shouting that it was shit.
“I see how your group works now.” I said to Louis.
“Do you, because I don’t know.”
“Well, Harry and Liam are the people who love kid’s stuff. Niall’s the annoying one who will say anything to get on their nerves. Zayn’s the one with an opinion, and always takes a side, mostly with Niall to even up the sides, no matter what the argument. You are the one who stops the arguments.” I looked at them as they started wrestling. “Or supposed to stop the arguments.” I corrected myself.
“I suppose your right. Time for me to break up the argument I suppose” Louis said as he got up and started pulling them apart. Well, tried. Instead he ended up thrown on a chair a bit delusional.
“I suppose this one’s up to me.” I said to myself, cracking my fingers and standing up. “Now you guys either stop your arguing or you’re on the streets for a few days” they all looked at me, laughed, and went back to fighting again.
If they thought I was joking, they were in for a big surprise… maybe. I went to Harry’s room and got his suitcase, then I got Niall’s, Liam’s and Zayn’s. I lugged them all out through the lounge room and threw them out the front door, now that got their attention.
“What the f*ck do you think you’re doing?” was the most colourful response I got, which was from Harry.
“I warned you, but you chose to ignore it. You should know that when I threaten you, I mean it!” I got a mix of replies at that. Finally they all calmed down, except for me. “Get out of my house God dammit!” I pointed to the open door.
“Can we stay under the veranda?” Zayn asked. I closed my eyes for a second, thinking about it.
“Okay, but be cautious, there is only one blanket.” Was the last thing I said to them before I closed, and locked the door. I turned around to have Louis standing two centimetres away from me. “You alright there mate?” I said to him as I backed up against the door, I grinned at him and shook my head.
“I think so.” He said as he put his arms on the door as well.
“What are you aiming for right now? Trying to be romantic… or freaking me out? Because right now, the second option is kind of shining through.” He pushed off the door and took two steps backwards.
“Better?”
“Better” I said in response.
“Is there any guidelines, or things I shouldn’t do? Just to get things straight and so you don’t break up with me.” he asked as I sat down on the couch.
“Right, good question. There are now many things to remember. Firstly, don’t do what you just did, it’s really creepy. Secondly, don’t hug me from behind. If you do, it may result in another broken arm, or worse, but you have to know, that I can hug you from behind. Thirdly, don’t be to clingy, I don’t like that. Fourth, remember that if you break my heart, I will break you, or pretend you don’t exist. Lastly, I make all of the decisions”
“That doesn’t sound fair.” He said sarcastically.
“It is for me, maybe not for you…” he gave me a death glare, but smiled with it. “What shall we do? We have a whole day to waste, and the rest you are outside for the day and night. What are our options anyway?”
“Movies? Umm, umm, umm, umm… movies?”
“Great ideas Louis, they are very original. But I like them, watch a few movies, have some lunch. You know what? We have the entire house to ourselves for the entire weekend, depending on how mean we want to be to the rest of the boys.”
“Why?”
“Because mum and dad always go for a weekend break, every week, mostly. They’re also probably shopping for my birthday present.”
“What?!”
“This may come as a surprise to you Louis, but I’m not at the top of my parents list. Work always comes first, then it’s their marriage, then it’s the house, then it’s me. So when they get a break from work, then I get a present.”
“Well then, this changes the days plans” he jumped up, grabbed the keys to my car, his wallet, and me. He then ran out of the house (after running into the locked door he decided to unlock it, then lock it after we were out), shoved me in the driver’s seat, he got in the passenger seat and told me to drive.
I was very happy with the fact I was driving off. But if the other four weren’t acting like ravage animals, e.g. running up to my car and climbing all over my car, running around like loony’s, scaring the complete shit out of me, I would have refused to have left the house.
Louis’ POV
“Can we leave yet?” I asked as Codie went to try on another pair of skinny jeans. By another I mean 20th in the last twenty minutes. She looked at me through intense blue eyes.
“You’re the one who offered, and to be honest with you, I’m just stringing you along, you know that right?” I gave her a death glare.
“I offered to buy you a present, not sit around for an hour or three while you try on skinny jeans.”
“Technically you didn’t even offer, you kind of… oh I don’t know, threw me into the car and forced me to drive, so, don’t blame me.”
“I see your point. But you’re still taking forever.”
“Didn’t Eleanor ever do this? Like, take forever while she was shopping?”
“She went shopping with her friends, kind of left me out of it, but she took my credit card, so I was still involved.” She took a deep breath in, held it, went to say something, but didn’t and let her breath out. “It was okay I suppose, sometimes I did though. It was fairly boring, as it is now.” I said, resulting in some pain.
“What did you slap me for?” I asked.
“I didn’t slap you, I hi-fived your face. Dur-brain”
“Sorry, just get those jeans off, the ones you own on, and let’s get back home, before I get found out or worse…”
“What could be worse?”
“The other guys go rabid”
“I see your point love”
“Thank you love” I finished, I still don’t know why we started saying that, but it worked, and why was I complaining? She finally went back into the change room to get back into her pants when a teen girl came up to me.
“Was that Codie Badress?”
“Yes it was” I answered.
“Is she your girlfriend?”
“Yes, yes she is” I answered again.
“Louis! I left my pants the other side of the door, could you get them for me?” Codie knew how to break my cover, didn’t she?
“Sure thing babe” I said while I stood up and threw the pants under the door. I tried to ignore the scream from the girl behind me, well, just the scream. I loved the fans, just not… just not the screaming all the time.
“YOUR LOUIS TOMLINSON!” the chick screamed at the top of her lungs.
“No, Louis Tedrie” I said seriously. She looked at me again.
“No, your Louis Tomlinson” she said again.
“No I’m not, I’m Louis Tedrie”
“Stop joking with me, you are Louis Tomlinson. If you are ‘Louis Tedrie’, why don’t you take your glasses off?”
“Fine, you got me” I slipped the glasses off, and she squealed again. She had a piece of paper in her hand, probably originally for Codie, but now it would have both of our signatures I guess.
“Could you please sign this for me?”
“Sure, I just need to know your name”
“Bella, Bella Beldrin”
“To Bella Beldrin. Live the moment, Louis Tomlinson.” I liked saying what I was writing on the paper, it gave them a bit more than just writing on paper. At that moment Codie walked out of the change room and got asked by the girl to sign the piece of paper.
“Thank you” she said quietly before running off back to her group of friends.
“That was weird” Codie announced as she bought her jeans, and I put my sunnies back on.
“How is it weird?” I asked.
“I’ve only done one race, and I’ve already had a few people want my signature. I just don’t get it, I don’t get how people want to meet me, when I came tenth in the only race that I’ve done in the V8’s.” she had a weird look on her face as we walked back to the car.
“Maybe they knew you from your racing beforehand. You had won like, 100 races straight.” I pointed out, it was true, I witnessed her 100th win.
“I never thought of that” she said as she got into her car. She started the car after I got in and we started on the way back home. “I suppose you have a point there” she announced.
“I know I do” I said a bit cockily. “Where are we going?” I asked, I know that I have no idea what way was home, but this was not it.
“You wanted to go to the park. I think you deserve it.”
“YYAAAYY” I screamed like a four year old, making her laugh. She had the most amazing laugh, it was beautiful. Then I started laughing, she was the kind of person that if she laughed, then everyone in the room would as well. To believe that this person, the most carefree, the person with a larger than life attitude, the one that I could get along with best, had experienced two friends die… was near unbelievable. It was lucky that she has the friends that she does, I think the same as her, she wouldn’t be here. It’s lucky for me that she’s still here, or I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.
“Is that it there?” I asked as we drove up to a massive amount of grass and trees.
“Naahh” she said sarcastically. She parked across the road in front of a café. Another café. After what happened yesterday… another café? She got out the car and waited for me on the path.
“Is this a good idea?” I asked as I got out the car.
“I thought, that because the park is right across the road, you wouldn’t crack again.” She said as she got out her wallet. Not a purse, a wallet. She is such a tomboy. “Hot chocolate again love?”
“Yes thank you love” I said as we went into the café. She went into the short queue and I went to sit at a table. After a few minutes we got our drinks and we went across the road to the park, holding hands, interlocking fingers. We found an empty bench and sat down on it. Codie started her hot chocolate, while I left mine and kept looking at her.
“Can you stop staring at me?” she said, while staring at me.
“Why?” I asked.
“Because it’s creepy, and I don’t like it.”
“Just another thing to add to the list of things I can’t do.”
“Yes, yes it is” she said to me as she looked ahead, into the trees. There was practically no one here, when Codie shivered I figured out why.
“Are you cold?” I asked.
“Yeah!” she said like it was obvious.
“Why?” I don’t know why I asked that question, but I did.
“Because it’s freaking 15 degrees Celsius!” she said through her chattering of teeth.
“Maybe this’ll warm you up” I said as I pulled her towards me and our lips crashed together. Her lips were so soft, but I wasn’t going to push for more. One, because it might freak her out, and two, I had the feeling we were being watched. We broke apart and Codie moved my glasses to look in my eyes.
“That was nice, but, it didn’t warm me up.” I narrowed my eyes, I didn’t really need my jacket, I was perfectly warm. I took it off and put it over her shoulders.
“Better?” I asked.
“Better”
“Morning love” I said to Louis as I sat down on the couch next to him.
“Morning babe.” He said as he put an arm around me. I looked at the T.V.
