Ashton's POV

"All I'm saying is that Mrs Belmont was totally unfair! She failed me!" Calum moaned and sulked about his failed English paper making me scoff and roll my eyes.

"Calum the assignment was to write about the most heartbreaking moment you have experienced. You wrote about your first skateboard breaking."

I shook my head as he glared at me. This conversation has been going on for about twenty minutes now since the start of lunch and I'm completely bored and over it.

"Well what the hell did you write about to get a C?"

I pulled my lips into a tight line as I thought about whether or not I should tell him the truth.

Might as well.

"Your break up with Kandy."

"YOU WHAT?!" He instantly shrieked at my words and harshened his glare on me.

"I lost a good friend that day and it took me nearly three months to even get the chance to talk to her, it was pretty heartbreaking knowing I couldn't be there for her because I had to stick by your side when you didn't even seem that upset."

I felt guilty just talking about Kandice with him right now.

"I guess you're right, and I never said you two couldn't still be friends. I know how close you use to be with her, which is why you continue to call her Kandy even when I tell you not too."

I simply nodded hoping to end the conversation because I didn't know how long I could keep hiding the fact that I kissed his ex girlfriend.

But the horrible part about all this is that it's Monday and we kissed on Saturday, yet I haven't stopped thinking about it once over the past two days.

All day today I found myself searching for her around school, so far I've only caught a few short glimpses of her with those girls she now hangs out with. She seemed rather happy and not the slightest bit guilty but I just couldn't wait for the moment where I could get to her alone so we could talk about what happened.

"Ash!" Luke shouted making me jump and turn to face them again.

"We asked if you wanted to go outside for a smoke?" Just as he finished his question I saw Kandice walking out of the cafeteria alone.

Now's my chance.

"Nah, I need to take a leak."

Thankfully guys don't offer to go to the bathroom together like girls do and I stood up fast. not giving any of them a chance to say anything as I practically ran out of the cafeteria and in the same direction as Kandice.

"Kandy." I whispered in her ear once I had caught up with her making her let out a shocked gasp before spinning around to face me.

"Oh my good Ash! You scared me!"

I bit my lip as I stared down at her small frame.

She hasn't called me Ash in months, I forgot how cute she sounded when she said it.

"You've been avoiding me today." I stated and her eyes widened like she knew she had been caught.

"Why would I need to avoid you?" She asked sweetly, almost as if she were playing dumb.

I huffed and looked around the hall making sure the coast was clear before I gripped her hand and pulled her into the janitors closet with me.

Just as I flicked on the small light, she rolled her eyes at her surroundings.

"This is so cliché." She grumbled and my eyes widened this time as I suddenly remember all the times Calum and Kandice would make out in here.

"Sorry but I need to talk to you about our kiss last weekend."

She smirked as she looked away from my eyes.

"You feel bad about it don't you?"

I nodded silently and she sighed dramatically.

"Well then we'll just pretend it never happened." She suggested almost like she was fine either way.

Honestly I thought she would be a little more pissed off when I kissed her, after all I was a mutual friend of both her and Calum.

"But that's the thing Kandy, I can't forget about it, That kiss is literally all I can think about."

She looked at me confused as she ran her hand through her blonde curls that I have started to love on her, like her different hair colour makes her a different Kandice than the one Calum dated.

If only it was that simple.

"So you can't forget about it... but you want too?" She asked and I shook my head.

"No." I stated bluntly.

"No what?"

I couldn't hold it in any longer and said the one thing I've wanted too since it happened.

"I don't regret it."

Silence surrounded us for a few short minutes as we stared at each other waiting for one of us to make a move.

Finally she smiled while placing her hands on my cheeks and pulling me in so our lips met for the second time.

But hopefully not the last.
