Mistakes

Nicole's P.O.V

This has been the longest day. James hadn't came out of his room so I went and listened at his door, it sounded like he was asleep. So I went to bed, but when I did wake up and 3 in the morning, I heard sniffling. Oh James, I wonder what's wrong.

"James" I whispered as I opened the door, I could see him sitting on his bed and looking out the window. I walked up and sat on his bed next to him.

"James are you ok?"

"I'm fine" he said trying to turn away from me.

"James please talk to me, I don't know what else to do." I could feel tears forming in my eyes.

"Why did she do it?" what does he mean?

"Why did who do what?"

"Why did Mom drink like that?" oh

"James, I don't know, I've been wondering that myself"

"Was it me?"

"No! Why would you think that?" What was going on in this young boys mind?

"Well, she would beat me the most, even after you left. No matter what I said or did she would always beat me, I couldn't stop it, she must have hated me" he said as more tears fell out of his eyes and by the end I was full out crying.

"James, none of it was your fault, it's probably mine, if it is anybodys. I shouldn't have left you there, i'm sorry" we were both sobbing now. He turned around and gave me hug.
We must have stayed like that for 15 mintues, until he got tired and fell asleep.
I walked in my room and tried to go to sleep, but couldn't. I just kept thinking about what James said, he's right, I never should have left him there. I'm a horrible sister, I should have found a way to get him out there sooner then I did. I'm so sorry James.
