Stay Away
He's No Good
I hated it when Jeremy drove my car. It made me feel out of control, like all the bad things would happen while he was driving. If anything did happen, I wouldn't be able to do anything to protect him.
I started talking, hoping that would relieve my nerves. "Jere, what the heck is wrong with you?" I asked. He was begining to scare me a bit.
He looked over at me with an angry gaze. "So I was talking to Ally today," he said trying to sound casual, "She said that you had been talking to that Niall guy."
I froze with shock. Why did Jeremy care that I talked to Niall? Then I remembered I wasn't supposed to know who Niall was. I turned my head toward him, trying to look confused, "Niall....." I trailed off.
Jeremy looked over at me, "Horan," he finished for me.
"Oh yeah! We have history together, I was asking about homework," I said. I was trying to sound as innocent as I could.
"Emma," he said, "that guy has a really bad reputation. He used to get into a lot of fights. Then, after that cleared up, rumors started going around that he was selling meth," he said.
I looked at him shocked. There was no way that the guy that was so pritective and caring, could sell meth. "Is that the whole story or is that just one half?" I asked. That couldn't be the whole thing.
"As far as I know that's the whole story. Which is exactly why I don't want you hanging out with him, he's not necessarily the best guy in the world," he said.
"How would you know if he was the best person in the world if you've never talked to him?" I asked. Jeremy wasn't normally this judge mental. There was something he wasn't tellin me.
"Em.... I don't know how to tell you this," he said awkwardly.
"Jere, if you don't tell me now, so help me God," I said.
"It was a month before mom and dad died. The month you went to America with Ally. I started doing meth and other drugs, and every time I would get high, he was there. He would always watch me. Emma, every time I would come close to passing out he would put me in his car and I'd be home when I woke up," he said.
Now Niall was starting to creep me out. Watching over me after being in an incident was one thing, but watching my brother before any of that happened, that was weird.
"So he helped you get home safe everytime you got high, and you don't trust him?" I asked. That was the one thing that just didn't make sense.
"That's not my point. My point is he was there," he said. That was as if he had just explained everything perfectly. "I just don't want you getting mixed up with him. Just stay away from him," he finishe. Then something wrang a bell, weren't those the exact same words Niall had told me a week ago?
