Stay Away

It was quiet. Jeremy is at his friend's house and Niall and I are sitting on the sofa in his rather large home. Well, I guess I mean our home. At first the plan had been to stay here for a while and then find a new house, but we hadn't really looked into it at all. Things had gotten interesting around the house, Jeremy wasn't around a lot so most of the time it was just Niall and I, which, to be honest, really surprised me considering that at first Jere didn't even want me talking to Niall, now all of a sudden it's like he wants me to be alone with him all the time.

Then I remembered something. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask you something," I said with little hesitation. If i didn't spit it out I wouldn't be able to get a whole sentence out.

"Yeah, sure love, anything," he replied.

Shit he called me love, now it's hard to breathe. C'mon you can get through this Emma it's just one question. "Jeremy said that...um he had seen you where he used to go and do drugs. He said that you used to take him home when he passed out. I was just wondering why..."

He looked back at the TV. "Look, I was really hoping I wasn't going to have to explain this to you, but it's starting to look like I do, cause it'll probably be really awkward for me to tell you, and you're probably going to think I'm some stalker, but you need to know that I'm not. Back at the beginning of the 9th grade you were the girl that really, nobody but Ally knew. We had a couple of classes together and I started to develop a crush on you. Then during the second semester, you started dating Matt. I knew I had no chance. You didn't even know me, I knew it wouldn't have worked. So, during that summer, I moved a couple of hours away. I started getting into the wrong crowds, I started doing drugs, then things went really wrong, and, well, you know that story. But during that time, your brother started showing up to the gang meet ups and things like that. I don't think he was truly apart of it I just think he was in it for the drugs, but none the less, he was there. I knew he was your brother and I wasn't going to let you go through anything bad, so I would make sure he got stuff that would knock him out, and once he was out I'd take him home. I didn't want you to have to hurt anymore than you already were."

Once he finished his story I couldn't help but be astounded. He protected me when he hardly even knew me. "Niall...you didn't have to do all of that..." he cut me off.

"No you're right but I do have to do one thing," Then his lips were on mine and there was no way in hell that I could have been any happier. He pulled away for a minute to see my reaction, but I wasn't done yet. I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him back. He laughed at my actions but kissed me back, it started to get rough and hungry, but as it got more heated and I started to reach for the rim of his shirt, we heard Jere walk through the door. We both jumped back quickly thankful that the door didn't open into the living room.

"Hey guys I brought home dinner!" he yelled down the hall.

Niall got up to help Jeremy set the table and I couldn't help but sit and smile to myself for a while. It all felt perfect. But I should have known it wasn't going to last.
