I drove home from August’s house and I started to think about the contest more and more. What if we did win, that would be amazing and I could never thank August enough.But what if we lost, August would be heart broken and we’d all be really upset. But I hoped with all my heart that we would win. I stopped at the gas station and bought a Diet Coke and a bag of Doritos and I sat on the sidewalk watching cars go by on the busy street.

“So watching cars again are we?” I heard a familiar voice ask

“What do you want Mike?” I spat

“Don’t talk to me like that” He growled

I started get up but Mike pulled me down again. I got my phone before Mike could notice and texted Kennedy.

“Please come pick me up I’m at the gas station”

“I’m on my way”

I quickly put away my phone after that.

“Ow! Stop! Let go, you’re hurting me!”

“Say sorry!” Mike yelled in my face

“I’m sorry!” I scream back

“Get off her!” I heard Kennedy yell

“Lets go” She grabbed my hand and we got in her car

“Can I spend the night at your’s?”

“Yeah” She says. We arrive at her house and we go streight to her room.

“You wanna talk about it” Kennedy asked

“Not really, Sparkles” I smiled

“Ok Twinkle… So what about the contest” She smiled

“What about it?” I ask

“Do you think we have a chance?”

“Um… Yes, I do. Knowing August she entered it like a million times”

“Yeah, you’re probably right, I’ve known August for a long time and-” Kennedy babbled on while I thought about the contest on my own point of view. I knew we probably wouldn’t win and I knew that but I wasn’t going to burst their bubble. We arrived at Kennedy’s house and we stayed up most of the night talking.

“Should we do our homework?” Kennedy asked

“HA! I save that for Sunday, c’mon its Friday. Who does homework on Friday?
“So true” she laughed

“Lets get to bed I’m tired” I said

“So am I” Kennedy yawned and we soon fell a sleep
