Summary
When I was a little girl, I met a boy who lived in his own little world filled with magic and wonder. He'd tell me of it's stories, how it came to be. He drew pictures of the great castle on the hill as we laughed about Sir Knightington the Great and his foolish ways. One day, I asked the boy if I could visit his world. He only smiled and told me I was already there, for his world was our imagination.
Zayn Malik was always like that. Built me up to let me wonder, but I never complained. I never wanted to move away from Bradford when I was twelve years old, either, but Zayn told me it was alright, I'd see him soon. If I closed my eyes, our world would still be there, and for a while it was. Recorded in stories and pictures, our little world never really died, much like our friendship. So when I need a favour, he'll help me, right?
I mean, even Sir Knightington the Great would.
Characters
Annabella Rose Watson
Annabella (also goes by the name 'Annie') is Zayn's long-time best friend. Zayn has special, untouched by other human name for Annabella; Bells and Belly. She lives in New Zealand.
Daniel James Howell
Dan is a Youtuber who befriends Zayn and Annie at an awards show, though he later claims to have met Annie before. His Youtube channel is 'danisnotonfire' and he works at Radio1 with his best friend Phil Lester (does not feature predominantly in this story, sorry)
Harry Edward Styles
Harry is Zayn's band-mate in One Direction. Zayn and Harry have a very deep friendship; they can confide in each other to keep secrets and take suggestions on girls, however a suggestion to Zayn on 'how to deal with a break-up' rips their friendship apart.
Jamie Edward Guy
Annie's good friend from school. He hangs out with Joey, but not by his choice. Joey doesn't know that Jamie and Annie are friends. Jamie and Kat have a love/hate friendship, but it leans more towards hate.
Joey Fletcher
Joey finds amusement in making Annie nervous. An old grudge and many a(n accidental) humiliation by Annabella Watson leads him to bully her at school, giving her bad anxiety attacks.
Katrina Rose-Sinclair Fields
Katrina - more commonly known as 'Kat' - is Annie's friend. She has a bad drinking problem brought on by grief and loneliness and is tended to by Annie. She lives in New Zealand.
Liam James Payne
Liam is a band-mate of Zayn's in One Direction and is often seen as the one to take charge in a situation. He quite often makes his own opinions of people, but after an incident at an awards show he decides to let himself be swayed by Louis' strong hatred for Annabella. He later softens after hearing the truth and they continue to have a strong friendship.
Louis William Tomlinson
Louis is Zayn's band-mate in One Direction. The two are 'partners-in-crime', but his refusal to accept Annie and be civilised with her causes their friendship to tear. He is often called 'Lou' as a nickname from the other band members.
Madeline Fitzgerald Smith
Madeline is another friend of Annie's. All of her friends call her 'Mads' due to her hatred of the name 'Madeline'. Her and Jamie have a flirtatious friendship, but nothing more.
Nathan Oliver Wright
Nathan introduced himself to Annie at a house party, but told her told her to call him 'Nate, or your friend for the night.' After he gave Annie his numer, the end up going out, but he turns out to be controlling and abusive to her.
Niall James Horan
Niall is a band-mate of Zayn's in One Direction. Zayn cares about Niall a lot and goes out of his way to protect him, but as Zayn cuts off ties with the rest of the band, their friendship slowly dissolves.
Perrie Louise Edwards
Perrie is the friend of both Zayn and Annie. Both Zayn and Annie 'obsess' over her, almost making the word 'perfect' synonymous with the phrase 'Perrie Edwards'
Ryley Anne Bridges
Ryley is a CIA agent, recruited by Zayn's management to keep Annie and Zayn safe after a few hospital runs. She is constantly followed around by Harry, not that she's complaining.
Zayn Javaad Malik
Zayn is Annie's long-time best friend. Is often referred to as 'Zayn-y-pie' or 'Zayn-y-boo' by his mother.
