The judge relaxes his questioning features, at the words heard from Harry. “Very well, young man. Let me just inform you personally what you have missed so far from the hearing. Mr. Styles over here, claims that his wife, Miss Rider, had an affair with you. Miss Rider has denied any sexual activity with you, is that true? And please, do approach the bench to oath your swear with honesty.”
Harry stands up from his seat, walking closer to the Judge. How could he ignore me yesterday, yet he shows up with complete courage to defend me? Could it be true? Has he really been collecting evidence all day, to preview my innocence?
“I swear to tell the truth, and nothing but the truth your honour. (He raises his right hand sharply, then rests it down) I have contacted Evelyn’s mother, and she was willing to give me the gynaecologist’s number and address; which Evelyn is a patient of. I went to the clinic and he updated me for the last checkup that Evelyn did. It was a month before the marriage, and she was still a virgin.”
Desmond’s laughter roars in madness, as he snarls: “That’s the point, isn’t it? Of course she’d be still a virgin at that time, but I’m sure she isn’t anymore because of you.” The judge bangs his hammer on the wooden bench, as his anger begins to grow. “Mr. Styles this is your second warning. One more, and I will have you in probation due to disturbing the courtroom with your comments.” Desmond sits slowly, as his fits clamper in fury.
“(He turns to look at Harry) Young man, I am afraid that this isn’t the evidence needed to prove the fact you are claiming about Miss Rider. If I don’t have a recent test done, possibly from two days, then I can’t grant Miss Rider a winning case.” Harry surprises the judge with a little chuckle, but then he retains his seriousness while clearing his throat.
“I knew you would claim that, and I have brought the doctor here with me to preform a medical checkup. Would you mind if we used a private room for this procedure?” The judge’s eyes widen as mine blink in utter shock. He did all this for my sake? Oh Harry if I only could hold you right now.“Well, you seem to be prepared. (He sighs in agreement) Very well, I shall have Miss Rider and the doctor escorted to a private room, for an instant checkup. (He bangs his hammer in announcement) The case rests for twenty minutes.”
I hop down from the chair in speed, rushing my heels to hug Harry. He expands his arms widely, waiting for me to arrive in the safety of his embrace. I cling my arms around his neck, as he hugs my waist tightly. “(He coos) I missed you so much, love. Don’t worry; you’ll be free soon. I promise you, Evey.” I nuzzle my head on his toned chest, nodding vibrantly. “I was so torn when you didn’t call me, yesterday. But now that I know where you have been, I can’t be anymore. Did you really go to see my mother?”
He chuckles, while rubbing circles on my back. “Rosalind wasn't a big fan of mine, but she wanted to help you. Evelyn, you need to go outside and meet the doctor. I can’t wait for your freedom any longer. I want to be able to hug you, without you being tied up. (I nod, retrieving my head to look at his eyes) I love you, don’t you ever forget that.” I lean to his cheek, kissing it softly as he groans in a cute way. “Stop teasing me, already.” I laugh, while rushing out of the courtroom. I could already taste the freedom; I could taste the life I dreamt of with Harry. Thank you god, for being with me at my toughest hours.
