The Photograph

Chapter 19

A few weeks began to pass by and things were becoming more and more crazy. I began to have the babies room being set up. I had painters come in and had all the walls painted a light shade of pink but I also had brown birds painted above where her crib will be placed. The ceiling touched up with white and we tore out the ugly carpet and changed it to a light tan shade of carpet. Later into my pregnancy Chelsea and I picked out furniture for the baby. We picked out a dark brown crib, with a matching changing table, with a little dresser for all of her clothes.
As time moved on, I knew things were becoming closer almost too close to believe. By now I’ve already had baby showers all over the place, so I have every one piece, dress, binky, and hair band you can think of. The only thing I haven’t thought much of is what I’m naming her. Usually that would be one of the first and only things you think of most during your pregnancy with any baby but not me. It’s no secret that Harry wanted to name his first daughter Darcy. I like Darcy to think about it, I think I’ll change the middle name though. Darcy Marie? Darcy Lynn? Darcy Marie sounded about right. I was very happy with the name choice, so I shared the news with everyone quickly throughout all of my friends and family. Only few knew the reasons why I chose Darcy as her first name but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Now comes the hard part, as much as I wanted to give Darcy the last name Styles, I couldn’t. That would mean Harry would have to be there, he would have to know about all of this and I know Harry. He would want to be around, I can’t let him, not yet anyways. So she’s forced to stick with my last name.
"You’re up so late." Chelsea said walking into my bedroom doorway and leaning against the frame, while I sat up in my bed frowning and holding my stomach.
"Darcy is really wanting to get out." I gasped and put my hand over a lower part of my stomach, noting there was a tremendous amount of pain.
"Sh-Should we go to the hospital?!" Chelsea asked, beginning to panic.
I couldn’t even bring words out of my mouth, I nodded repeatedly as I grabbed my nightstand to pull myself up to my feet. I had a baby bag packed already which was set in Darcy’s crib. Chelsea searched for shoes, both of our self phones and the baby bag. Eventually she rushed me to the hospital.
Birth was one of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced in my whole life. I can’t even describe how terrible it felt but once I saw her face and held her little hand, all of the pain was worth it. Holding her made everything seem so real and it was crazy to me that now I’m a mom. By now, Chelsea has notified my parents of Darcy being born, most all of everyone who knew I was pregnant, knows about Darcy now being born.
During the first few months of having Darcy at home were rough, I never thought having a baby, even with one of your friends to help you could be so tiring. I’ve never been more tired and drained in my life. Darcy runs all the energy out of me, but thankfully now she sleeps through the night at 6 months old already. It took her awhile to get the swing of things, it’s unbelieveable to think she’s already half of a year old.
I came home one day from work and found Chelsea asleep on the couch, in sweat pants, an oversized sweatshirt and her hair in a messed up bun while Darcy laid maybe a foot away from her asleep in her bouncy chair on the floor. I smiled at my baby girl before taking advantage of the opportunity. I ran to my bathroom and showered, changing into some leggings and a blouse, with some slippers to keep my feet warm. Once I walked out of my bedroom, I heard the movement of Chelsea on the couch, rolling over into a different position. I walked up and unbuckled Darcy out of her chair, taking her into her room and changing her diaper. I made her a bottle and sat with her in her rocking chair I put in the corner of her room by her window. It’s hard not to fall asleep myself but Chelsea’s foot steps woke me as soon as I was about to fall asleep with Darcy in my hands.
"How was work?" She asked, leaning against Darcy’s crib.
"Exhausting. This one isn’t any help when I come home either." I looked at Darcy then up at Chelsea and popped out my pout lip.
"We were sleeping in the living room together, was she awake when you came home?" Chelsea frowned.
"No, she was when I came out of the shower but I think that’s due to her diaper. It’s all okay now though. When do you go to work?" I asked.
"I have about an hour, I should probably start getting ready. I’ll see you in a few minutes." Chelsea said before running down the hall to her room, I watched her waltzed into the bathroom a short minute later.
My phone buzzed against the table next to me, I reached and grabbed it. It was a text from a number I’m not quite used to.
Text: Hey Emma! Gosh it’s been so incredibly long since we’ve spoke. We were heading to New York and wanted to know if you wanted to meet up. We would all love to see you, it’s been so long. Let me know! ~Louis.
Louis. Louis Tomlinson. Their heading to New York, and they want to see me… They have no idea that I’m living here already. Which means there is no possible way that they know about Darcy. My heart began to flutter, and my mind began racing. I can’t start talking to them yet. What will they say? What will they think? What will they do? There’s too much to handle with. I’m not ready… But when will I ever be ready?

Notes

Sorry that the story isn’t as interesting anymore): School has been really busy and I’ve barely thought about where I want to go with the story. I’m having writers block lately but I’m trying my best to come up with ideas! .
