Pure Luck
Chapter 8
Niall's P.O.V
The night was long. Really long. We'd all had a lot of fun as far as I could tell. Everyone had a bit to much to drink, except me and Danielle who were driving them home.
Jess was chatting happily to Danielle and Eleanor, who had seem have taking a liking to her. Kimi was badgering Harry with all sorts of questions about famous life. He answered them carefully and with quite intelligent answers. "So how do you deal with the paparazzi, doesn't it make you wish you weren't well known at all?" Kimi said. Harry paused looking thoughtful for a moment, "not particularly, if I'm in a good mood and I'm not doing anything they can make a fuss about I just stand tall and smile, but sometimes I may be out at a club or something like now and they would probably plot some sort of story, I keep my head low. "
I smiled to myself before Liam and Danielle stood up, "I reckon Danielle and I will head off." Harry and Zayn got up too, they were going with them. I looked up, "hey Dani, would you mind taking another one? You've got 5 seats and my cars only small." Danielle smiled and nodded, "sure! Kimi do you want to come?" Kimi looked surprised but nodded, "uh yeah okay!"
She got to her feet and we all started our goodbyes. As Danielle hugged my she whispered in my ear, "Jess is a keeper." I turned bright red, "she's not..we're not together." She just smiled and turned to the others.
Louis came up to me, "do you mind if we go too now mate? Eleanor has got a headache and would like to go home." I nodded, "yeah, that's a good idea." I turned to Jess, "we're going to go now if you need a lift." She smiled, "yes please!"
We walked out to the car, Jess and Eleanor were ahead of us, talking and laughing. "Nice to see the ladies getting along isn't it," Louis grinned. I chuckled, "who doesn't get along with Eleanor?" He nodded, "you have a valid point."
Louis and Eleanor sat in the back, and Jess sat next to me in the front. We dropped them off first and then Jess told me her address. By the time we arrived at her house it was around 2 o'clock. I got out and walked her to the door. She smiled at me, "thanks for the lift Niall." Then she kissed me.
It was simple, nothing overly passionate. But it felt so right, I was surprised to find myself kissing back.
We slowly broke apart and she looked at the floor, "sorry..." I shook my head with disbelief, "no, it's... fine." She smiled, awkwardly at me, "I better go." And before I knew it she was gone.
I walked back to the car in a state of confusion. I could not believe that I had just kissed my best friend.
Jess's P.O.V
As soon as I got in, I knew I needed to call someone. I thought about Kimi but I shook my head, know that she'd just be freaking out about it. I would tell her later.
Suddenly a person came to mind. Well I couldn't call a guy, that would just be weird. And I needed someone who knew Niall, like a close friend or something. Danielle!
We had exchanged numbers at the pub, Eleanor, Dani and I. I got on the phone straight away and listened to it ring. "Hey Jess! Did you miss me?" She laughed at her own joke. I smiled, "hey Dani, I'm in a bit off a problem and you were the first person I wanted to talk too."
Danielle's P.O.V
My phone rang as I was sitting out with Liam on the couch watching television. I looked at the caller ID and to my surprise it was Jess!
I picked it up, "hey Jess! Did you miss me?" I laughed. Liam looked up with interest, obviously wondering why Jess was calling.
"Hey Dani," she replied, "I'm in a bit of a problem and you were the first person I wanted to talk to." I looked up at Liam, "what sort of problem?" He raised his eyebrows but I just shook my head.
Jess sighed on the other end of the phone, "I... um.. we kissed." I already had a suspicion, "you and who?"
"Niall."
Honestly I wasn't the least bit surprised. They had looked like Louis and Eleanor, or me and Liam at the pub. Like any other average couple.
"So when did you and Niall kiss?" I asked, sitting up straight. I saw Liam's jaw drop. "Just now when he dropped me off, I kissed him. But it's just, I can't believe I kissed him, I mean what was going through my mind?"
I felt bad for her, "Jess, it's just a small kiss, not a huge problem." She objected, "no it's not the fact that I kissed him, it's that he is one of my best friends."
