Just a Kiss

Leighton’s P.O.V.:
We had just finished our soccer game and were on our way back to the boys’ house. Sadly, my team lost, but it was still a good game. Niall is really good at soccer and he looked so hot while playing it. I would never tell him that though, I don’t want to ruin our friendship. We decided to hang out at the boys’ house for a while.
“Dibs on the downstairs shower!” Harry shouts.
“Ooh dibs on the upstairs one!” Louis shouts right after.
Right as they said the word shower, I began to realize how sweaty and gross I felt. Maybe I should go back to my place and shower so they don’t think I’m gross.
“I think I’m going to go back to my place to take a shower so I’m not all gross then I’ll come back. Addison do you want to come with me?” I announce.
“You guys can shower at our place. If you’d like, I mean. You can even go first.” Liam responds.
“Thanks Liam, but I don’t have any clean clothes with us and neither does Addison.”
"Oh, you can borrow some of our sweats and shirts, if you'd like." Niall chimes in. I open my mouth to decline the offer, but Addison begins talking before I can.
"That would be great thank you!" Ok I guess we are showering at the boys' house. I pull up to their house and we go in.
"Leighton, you can borrow some of my clothes." Niall says as he leads the way to his room. Addison had gone off with Liam to his room, as he is in the downstairs bedroom. I hope they don't do anything stupid. I stand looking around Niall's room as he shuffles through his drawers. He grabs a pair of sweats and a t shirt. He turns around and hands them to me.
"Here ya go love," he says to me. "The bathroom is down the hall, first door on the right."
"Thanks Niall." I say before heading down the hall. I can't believe I'm about to shower in One Direction's house AND wear Niall Horan's clothes. Somebody pinch me I must be dreaming. I walk into the bathroom, lock the door, and turn on the water. I begin humming to my favorite song at the moment, Stay With Me by Sam Smith. Once the water is warm enough I get into the shower. I begin rinsing off the sweat and dirt while softly singing the song. Yes I sing in the shower, it has great acoustics. Once I finished I dry off and put on the clothes Niall gave me. Before leaving the bathroom I throw my hair up into a messy bun. I walk out of the bathroom to head downstairs, before I reached the stairs Niall pops out of his room, stopping me in the hall. He is shirtless, it looks like he already showered, I guess I took longer than I thought. His eyes land on me.
"Thanks again for the clothes Niall." I tell him.
"No problem, you look good in them." He responds making me blush. I look down so he doesn't see my flushed cheeks, my hair falls into me face . I hear him get closer to me, making me looks up. He pushes my hair out of my face and looks into my eyes.
"You are beautiful Leighton." He tells me. Before I know it I am leaning in. No, Leighton! You need to stop. Don't ruin this friendship. I am so drawn to him I can't stop myself. My lips touch his and I freeze. Why did I do this!? He probably doesn't even like me like that. I pull away and run down the stairs with out looking at him. I'm so embarrassed. 'Why did I do that' is the one thought that repeats over and over in my head. I reach the living room.
"Is something wrong Leighton?" Addison asks me seeing my panicked look. I attempt to recompose myself sitting my self down next to her.
"Yeah I'm fine." I try to tell her, but she knows me too well. She gives me her look that says we will be talking about it later. I sigh in defeat. Addison and Liam continue talking, I just sit absorbed in my thoughts about what had just occurred. Suddenly I hear foot steps coming from the stairs. I look up to see Niall standing there. He looks at me with a look I can't place. Gosh he probably hates me. Why did I kiss him, I am such an idiot. Suddenly the room is filled with yells and other loud noises as Louis, Harry, and Zayn rush into it being very rambunctious. Niall tears his gaze from mine and looks over at them and decides to go join them in their game. I look down at my lap thinking 'why do I always ruin everything?'

Niall's P.O.V.:
I had just got out of the shower. I'm in my room getting dressed. I put on some sweatpants when suddenly I hear the most beautiful voice I've ever heard drifting from the bathroom. It's Leighton. She is singing Stay With Me by Sam Smith. Wow, not only is she gorgeous but she can sing. She could really get places with that voice. Suddenly the singing stops and the water turns off. Soon after I hear the bathroom door open. I walk out of my room to see her standing there. She looks so great in my clothes, I should let her keep those. She looks at me and says, "Thanks again for the clothes Niall." I respond by saying " No problem, you look good in them." She really does she is so beautiful. She looks down. I walk towards her. I need to tell her how beautiful she is. She looks up at me as she hears me approach her. I reach out and push the hair that has fallen into her face away.
"You are beautiful Leighton." I tell her. I feel myself leaning in. I really like this girl. I hope she likes me too or else I'm about to do something really stupid. My lips touch her's and right away I knew I made a mistake. She doesn't respond. I pull away and she runs with out even giving me a glance. I sat down with my back against the wall. I put my head in my hands. I just ruined every chance I ever had with her. She probably doesn't ever want to see me again. I get up and begin walking downstairs. I wonder if she is even still here. I reach the bottom of the stairs and see her sitting there. I stop in my tracks, what do I say. She looks up at me with an upset look. Damn, I really screwed up. Suddenly I hear a rambunctious noise entering the room. I look up to see Louis, Liam, and Harry playing some sort of game. I decide to join them so I won't have an awkward confrontation with Leighton. Why does this always happen to me with girls?
Leighton's P.O.V.:
After about an hour of sitting on the couch absorbed in my thoughts, Addison knew it was time to go.
"Well guys I think it's time for us to go, we are pooped." Addison chimes in.
"Oh ok well bye, we'll see you later." Liam responds. I stand up, say a quick by and make my way to the door. I look over to see if Addison is following. When I turn I see her and Liam in a sweet embrace. I can't help but look over at Niall. I see him looking at Liam and Addison who just quickly gave each other a sweet peck on the lips. He has a strange expression on his face and looks deep in thought. He is probably thinking about earlier. 'Why did I do that?' I think to myself. Soon after, Addison makes her way over to the door, saying a quick goodbye over her shoulder. We make our way to the car in silence, but as soon as the doors are shut and the car is started Addison begins questioning me.
"Ok Leighton, what really happened back there, and no lying, I know you to well." I sigh and begin driving home. I begin telling her about the whole ordeal that happened in the hall, while sits quietly and listens. By the time I was done we had gotten back to my house.
"Wow..." Addison says in response.
"Yeah..." I reply while sighing. "I just don't know what to do."
"You're sure that he didn't want to kiss you?" She asks.
"If he did then why did he give me that look? I totally just screwed up my chances of just being friends with him. I knew he wouldn't like me like that."
"Leighton..." Addison sighs. "Let me talk to Liam in sure he's talked to Niall."
"Well nothing is going to change because I totally screwed everything up. I don't want to talk about this anymore. Let's talk about you and Liam." I tell her. She sighs in indignation.
"Well," she says "we kissed and now I guess we are dating."
"Dating!?" I practically yell at her. She just laughs.
"What are you going to do when he leaves on tour?"
"Ugh, don't mention it in just living in the moment."
"Ok Addison." I reply laughing.
