Just a Kiss

Niall’s P.O.V.
I stand in the doorway and wave goodbye to Leighton before heading inside and watching her drive away from the window. I walk into the kitchen and let out a sigh.
“Something wrong mate?” Liam asks me.
“No,” I reply. “I’ve just got a lot of thinking to do.” I make my way up to my room and strip down to my boxers and throw on some sweatpants, making myself comfortable. I collapse onto my bed and submerse myself into my thoughts. I had a fabulous night with Leighton. I like her a lot but she is just a friend, right? She probably doesn’t even like me more than as a friend anyways. Besides, it wouldn’t work out. I’m traveling the world she has a life here, I couldn’t take her away from that. That doesn’t matter anyways she is just a friend. Suddenly there is a knock on my door. I sit up.
“Hey mate, just checking to be sure you’re ok.” Says Liam poking his head in.
“Yeah I’m fine.” I say.
Liam walks into my room and sits next to me on my bed.
“So, did Leighton tell you that she and Addison are going to be at the concert all three nights, right by the stage?” Liam asks.
“Really?!” I exclaim smiling.
“Yeah, Addison told me tonight.”
“Wow, that’s great!” I say.
“You really seem to like Leighton.” Liam states.
“She’s just a friend.” I say. Out of the corner of my eye I see my phone light up. I grab it and check it. I can feel Liam reading over my shoulder, but I don’t care.
Leighton: hey! We just got back to my house
Me: what are you girls up to?
“Oh, that reminds me!” Liam exclaims, pulling out his phone to text someone. I look over his shoulder to see who he is texting. Addison.
“You really seem to like Addison.” I state
“I do. At least I admit it. You won’t even admit you like Leighton, but I can tell. Why?” Liam asks.
“She would never like me back and it could never work between us.” I reply.
“You never know until you try Niall.” Liam responds.
Leighton’s P.O.V.
I wake up to the sun shining in my eyes and my best friend softly snoring next to me. I sit up, stretch, and rub the sleep out of my eyes. I grab my phone off of its charger and check the time. 10:30 am. I see that I also have two messages. I unlock my phone and check them. They are from Niall.
Niall: good night :) sleep well!
Niall: good morning! The boys and I are going to go play football today. Would you and Addison be interested in joining us?
Me: Yeah! We would love too, but neither of us really know how to play it.
Niall: Oh, well now you have to come! We will teach you! Zayn says he will ref.
Me: Sounds great! Should I pick you all up? We can go to the park I met you at.
Niall: Sure! How does 1 sound?
Me: sounds great! See you then :)
I get up out of bed and decide to wake Addison up to tell her the plan. I gently shake her shoulder.
“Addison, come on. Wake up” I say softly. She just moves around a bit, groans and keeps sleeping. I guess I’m going to have to use the magic word.
“Addison, Liam is here to see you.” I say. Right as I say it she shoots up.
“You better not be lying to me or I’m going to be severely pissed.” She says sleepily while looking at me.
“Sorry,” I reply. “But we are going to go see him later today so I thought I would wake you up and tell you the plan so we can get ready.”
She gets up out of bed and stretches.
“So what’s the plan?” She asks me.
“We are going to go pick the boys up at 1 and go to the park. They are going to teach us how to play soccer.”
“Us? Playing soccer? That’s funny Leighton, we both suck at sports that involve a ball. Now what are we really doing?”
“I’m serious. I thought I would be a fun thing to do. Plus if they are teaching us how to play it then maybe we won’t suck anymore.”
“We are going to end up hospitalized.” She mumbles.
“Oh shush.” I tell her making my way downstairs to get breakfast. Addison and I quickly eat some breakfast and head back to my room to get ready. We decide to both wear athletic leggings, a t-shirt and Nikes since we will be playing soccer. We both throw our hair up so it doesn’t get in our faces and put on minimal makeup. I quickly check the time again. It’s 12:00. We decide to go grab a snack so we don’t get hungry while we are playing soccer. While we are getting our snack I fill up two water bottles for us and stick them in the fridge so they are nice and cold for us when we leave. We sit down in my living room and watch a bit of Criminal Minds until it is 12:50. Once it is 12:50 we grab our water bottles and leave to get the boys.
We get to their house and get out of my car. We get up to the front door and Addison rings the doorbell. The door opens up a minute later to a smiling Liam.
“Hey guys come on in!” he says brightly.
“Hey Liam.” I say giving him a hug and stepping inside the house.
“Hi Liam.” Addison says cheerfully giving him a long hug. We all move into the living room and sit on the couch to wait for the other boys. A few moments after we sit down Niall comes down the stairs. As soon as he sees us a smile lights up his face. He walks over and gives me a hug.
“Hey Leighton.” He says.
“Hey Niall.” I reply. He then moves to say hi to Addison.
“Hey Addison.” He says giving her a quick hug.
“Hey Niall.” She replies. We all sit down on the couch and begin talking. Niall tells us that Addison, Liam, and Louis will be one team. He, Harry, and I will be the other one. Zayn is going to be the referee.
“It’s just so he has more time to text Perrie.” Liam says.
“Well that’s ok. It makes it even.” I say. Then all the boys come downstairs.
“Hey guys.” I greet them.
“Hey Leighton.” They respond.
“Hey everyone.” Said Addison.
“Hey.” they respond.
“Well, let’s get going.” I say heading to my car. I get into the driver’s seat and see Niall get into the passenger’s seat. I guess Addison is sitting next to Liam again. Once everyone gets into the car I drive to the park and park the car. We got out of the car and walked to the small soccer field.
Addison’s P.O.V.:
We had just gotten to the park and the boys began to teach us how to play soccer. Liam and Harry were on one side of the field passing a ball back and forth. Leighton and I had been paired with Louis and Niall, she with Niall and me with Louis, to learn the basics of how to play. Zayn was sitting on a bench, probably texting Perrie.
I watch carefully as Louis dribbles the ball one last time, in his attempt to teach me.
“Ok,” he says. “Your turn.”
He kicks the ball to me and I trap it, just like he had taught me a few minutes beforehand. I begin dribbling the ball just like Louis had just demonstrated. I make it all the way down the field without messing up, so I decide to pick up my pace. Two steps in, I slip on the ball and feel myself falling back. I land with a thud on my ass. That’s going to be bruised tomorrow I think to myself as I try to collect myself. Suddenly, there is a hand in my face. I look up to see Liam standing there with a concerned look on his face. I grab his hand and he helps me up.
“Are you ok?” he asks me, checking me over for injuries.
“I am fine Liam. Thank you.” I reply before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek in thanks. I walk away towards Louis, with the ball in my hand. When I reach Louis I turn and look back at Liam. He hasn’t moved from the spot I left him in. He is just standing there with a huge smile on his face, his cheeks a little flushed. I giggle to myself. Is that because I kissed his cheek? That is so adorable, he is so adorable. Dang I am falling for this guy, fast.
“Hey Li!” Louis calls. “You’re in our way!”
“Sorry Lou!” Liam yells back as he runs back over to join Harry.
Louis has me dribble the ball one more time but keeping with my first speed, we decided that we didn’t want me to fall again. After I was done we started our game. I join Liam and Louis on one side while Leighton joins Niall and Harry on the other. I catch Leighton’s eye and wiggle my eyebrows at her while looking between her and Niall. She just blushes and gives me her “stern” look. I giggle to myself. Zayn walks to the middle of the field with the ball. Louis and Niall join him there for the kickoff. Zayn sets the ball on the ground and walks back towards the side lines. When he blows his whistle Niall and Louis are off. The ball gets kicked to me I trap it fast and begin to dribble it down the field. I see that Louis is open I pass it to him and he shoots but Harry blocks the goal. Liam is being our goalie. We keep on playing and when we all decide we are done, my team had won. I knew we would Louis is so talented when it comes to soccer. I give Louis a quick congratulations hug, the turn to see Liam jogging over to me. He picks me up in a bone crushing hug, but it feel oh so nice to be wrapped up in his arms. I throw my arms around his neck.
“You did so great Addison.” He whispers in my ear.
“Thanks Liam so did you.” I reply to him is a soft voice. He lets me down but doesn’t let go. Before I know it we are both leaning in. Our lips touch and I feel electricity course through my body. The whole world gets drowned out. All I can think about is Liam and his oh so soft lips that were on mine. I could get used to this. Suddenly I come back to reality with wolf whistles and cat calls in the background.
“Oi! Get a room!” Louis shouts at as. This time it’s Leighton wiggling her eyebrows at me. All I can do is blush and bury my head into Liam’s chest.

Hey guys I know its been a while, I've been super busy with school work and stuff, but as this year is winding down to a close I'll be posting a lot more often I'm probably even going to post one or two more chapters tonight! Keep an eye out for them! Hope you enjoy and don't mind any grammatical mistakes!
