Epilogue
Graduation.
This was the biggest day of our college lives. After today, we went out into the real world to make a career for ourselves. I twiddled my thumbs nervously as I waited for my name to be called. The moment my name was called, my legs turned to jelly and I walked up the stage like I owned the place. I shook the president of the college’s hand with one of my own, and grabbed my diploma with the other before walking off stage and taking my seat back next to my best friend.
That was it. College was over, and I was ready to take on the real world with my English degree.
I looked up as Niall’s name was called and gave him an encouraging thumbs up as he followed the same steps as everyone before him.
I felt relief wash over me as we marched out of the building as college graduates. The second we were all outside, we all yelled and found our loved ones, sharing our excitement. I ran over to Niall and jumped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. “We did it!” I yelled and laughed as Niall jumped, holding onto my waist.
“I’m so proud of you, baby!” Niall put me down and pulled me in for a long, passionate kiss, resting his hands on my lower back.
“There’s one last frat party tonight, Horan!” Harry said and basically pulled Niall off of me. “You two have got to be there!” Autumn wrapped her arms around Harry’s waist and kissed his cheek. I caught a glimpse of her engagement ring she had received last semester and smiled, holding onto Niall tighter.
“You can count on us.” Niall promised.

When we entered the frat house, Niall and I were greeted with cheers as one of Niall’s younger frat brothers walked up to him and gave him a hug. “A bro-hug before you leave, mate.”
“Thanks, man.” Niall chuckled and intertwined our fingers before leading me through the crowd.
Niall’s POV
It was nearly two in the morning and the party was still going strong. Katie hadn’t had too much to drink that night, but I had a few pints to calm my nerves. Tonight I was going to be asking Katie possibly the biggest question of my life and hopefully the only time Katie will ever be asked.
I downed the last of my pint and walked over to Katie who was chatting away with one of her friends. “Hey, princess.” I said in her ear and placed my hands on her waist.
“Hey,” She giggled and excused herself from her friend before turning around and wrapping her arms around my neck. “What are you doing?” Katie smiled and I nodded my head towards the back door.
“Come with me.” I pecked her lips and grabbed her hand to lead her outside. When we stepped into the warm summer air, shutting the party behind us, Katie let out a happy sigh and leaned against the railing of the back porch.
“Can you believe it’s actually over?” She asked and looked up at me.
“It’s weird to think about…” I sighed and wrapped my arms around her waist from behind. “This is where everything good ever happened to me… mostly in the house.” I kissed the back of her neck and nuzzled my face against her skin, taking in her scene.
“The first night we met is definitely one to remember.” She giggled and turned to face me.
“The day we decided to become fuck buddies.” I smirked.
“When you first told me you loved me.” I tucked a loose strand of hair behind Katie’s ear and smiled. “It only took me forever to say it back.” She smiled and pecked my lips.
“All that matters is that you said it back… even if I did nearly break my wrist for you.” Katie rolled her eyes playfully and shoved me. “I kid, I kid…” I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my forehead on hers. “I was thinking… maybe one more good memory here… yeah?”
“Niall, what are you planning?” She cocked and eyebrow and I shook my head.
“It’s not what you’re thinking.” I promised and slid my hands down her arms, taking her hands in mine before taking a deep breath. “Everything good that’s happened to me is all because of you; and honestly, I have no idea what I would do or where I would be without you…” I inhaled deeply before going down on one knee.
“Oh my God…” Katie breathed and one of her hands flew up to her mouth. I pulled the ring out of my pocket.
“Katherine Ann Anderson… will you do the extraordinary honor of becoming my wife?”
“Yes!” My insides filled with happiness as she screamed and handed me her left hand. I slipped the ring onto her finger and stood up, taking her face in my hands and brought my lips eagerly to hers. Katie had just agreed to marry me!
