Daphne POV
"What's your favorite animal?" Liam yells from his perch on the armchair pen poised in hand.
"Squirrels, what's yours?" Dustin yells back from where he is sitting on his bed folding clothes.
"A dog, Daphne what is your favorite animal? Please give me a real answer this time." Liam says in a cross between sternness and pleading.
I look up at him from where I am sprawled on the couch at the back of the room. "A bloody unicorn. Is there anything to eat is this stinkin' mansion?" I reply standing up.
Adjusting my jean jacket I made my way to the door.
"You can't go out there without us." I hear Liam say smugly from behind me. "Really?" I reply turning in the door to see Liam's smirking face. "I saw Luke out and about earlier on his own I'm not going to get in trouble."
I slam the door behind me as I stalk down the hall. I go down the hallway and make too many wrong turns until I end up completely disorientated. Why does this house have to be so big? Picking which set of doors seems most likely I push through a set of double doors and end up on a large balcony.
Giving up despite my stomachs protest I jump onto the railing and swing myself around reaching for my cigarettes.
Pulling one out I stick one in my mouth before realizing I don't have a way to light it. "Need a light?" I hear a gravely voice say from behind me.
Grabbing the railing so I don't fall off I turn to see Zayn slip onto the balcony.
I smile, "That would be nice thank you."
Zayn comes and stand next to me lighting mine before lighting his and leaning against the railing next to me.
"Liam annoying you already?"
I laugh lightly.
"The both of them actually. They have decided our forms have to be done right this very second. It is like having two Leenas around. I don't think I will survive ten months of this. So why have you made your escape?"
Zayn looks at me.
"Michael and Cassidy have shut down and retreated to their rooms I figured that was my cue to go have a smoke. You know you might be good for Liam help his learn to be a bit more flexible." I feel my cheeks warm a bit at Zayn's comment.
"Um thank you? And Cassidy retreats into herself a lot. Don't let her shy girl act fool you though sometimes she's crazier then I am. Oh and if you need a smoking buddy Cass smokes too she is just trying to quit."
Zayn and I sit in comfortable silence for a few minutes, smoke and the smell of nicotine wafting through the air.
"This doesn't look like the kitchen." I hear Liam remark from behind us. Turning and almost falling off the railing I see Liam standing at the door of the balcony.
"Did you get lost or did you never intend to go to the kitchens at all?" He asks sternly. "And put those out. I wont say Zayn was being a bad influence on you because I am sure your just as much to blame."
I jump off the railing and saunter up to Liam. I blow a slow stream of smoke into his face making him cough and his eyes water. "I got lost and Zayn was obliging enough to offer me a light but I have no need to report to you you're not the boss of me." I say as I slowly circle him.
"Now goodbye." I say and walk off.
As I walk down the hallway I hear footsteps hurrying to catch up. "Sorry about that. That is why we call him Daddy Direction." zany says apologizing. "It's not your fault and I figured that's why let me guess I can call Dustin Daddy summer a well."
Zayn chuckles lightly.
A loud clanging echoes through the house.
I turn to Zayn. "What do you figure that is?" I ask
Zayn shrugs. "The dinner bell?"
