Codi's POV

This past week has been terrible. I know getting the cut in my head wasn't on purpose but that doesn't excuse that fact that it happened. Liam has been pleading with his fans and the paps to back off, they're getting to be too much for me and for him.

We haven't been able to do anything. Every time I leave in the morning to go to school they're on the street taking pictures of me, asking me questions, fans are screaming at me to get Liam, it's so overwhelming. Liam is so over protective that he won't let us go anywhere, we've been arguing non stop about everything. I know he's stressed, but taking it out on me doesn't help. School isn't any better, imagine teaching hundreds of One Direction fans. No one pays attention, girls are constantly trying to take pictures and disturb my class, I can't even leave the room to use the bathroom without taking my phone with me and locking my classroom door because I've already caught girls trying to break into my phone and steal pictures and info. Every thing is just so stressful.

Liam had a show tonight, in fact it was Niall's 21st birthday tonight so they were all excited for that. Liam had already turned 21 while he was on tour, I was sad I missed it by a few days but I had the boys surprise him with a cake at one of their Chicago shows and the whole crowd sang to him.

I braced myself before I left the school. I could already see the paparazzi waiting on the sidewalk. They had gotten in trouble with the principal of our school because before this they had been waiting right outside the front doors. I took a deep breath, made sure to get my keys and adjust my bags before I opened the door to a sudden raise in volume.

“Codi, Codi, over here.”

“How was school Codi?”

“Liam ever come to your school?” Yeah, like I would let a famous pop star come to my 11th grade Government class, hard enough to get them to pay attention.

“Are you going to the show tonight Codi?”

“Are you and Liam in love?”

“Has Liam talked to Sophia or Danielle?”

I fight my way to my car and slam the door. The nerve of them. Having Liam here has been fantastic but since I got my head injury he's been extremely on edge and over protective. The first day it was cute, after that not so much. I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself.

School had an early dismissal so I was able to catch Liam before his show. I wasn't planning on going tonight because I went last night, and I'll be there tomorrow. Plus I had to go to the club to make sure everything was set up for tonight. They guys had rented out Hollywood's notoriously famous club, Avalon Hollywood for their big bash. I just wanted to make sure the cake was set up, I ordered them three weeks ago just for them, a superhero cake for Liam, and a soccer/ Derby cake for Niall. A few fans had won passes to their party as well, I was just beyond excited for tonight. Just ready to kick back with him and relax like before.

“Liam!” I yell as I shut the door with my foot.

“In here babe!” I hear him yelling from the bedroom. He's changing to get ready for the show.

“How as sound check?” I ask as I put my bags down in my room.

“Fine, you sure you don't want to come tonight?” He asks me for the millionth time.

“Yes Liam, I need some space to be honest. You know, 20 minutes without paps in my face and fans screaming in my ears. I don't know how you can stand it.” I'm getting angry about all these people invading my life.

I hear him walk into my room and see him lean against the door frame. “I'm sorry about all of this baby. But I'm doing my best. I love you.”

“I love you too, and I know you are, it's just overwhelming. I would love to see you tonight but I'll just be at the club early to get everything ready for tonight.”

“If you insist.” He said as he walked towards me to pull me in for a hug, kissing my forehead. “How was school today?”

“Fine. I had some girls try to steal my phone again, then Mr. Walters made the paps stay on the sidewalk, and I was told that if our relationship continues that he's going to insist on putting a safe in my room for my personal belongings.” I say in a huff. I just want to teach and be with Liam. I didn't realize it was too much to ask.

“I'm sorry Codi. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal for us to be together.” He shares with me as he's still holding me.

“The price we pay. Hopefully it will die down, I'm sure it's just all hype because you're here right now.” I really do hope that it dies down when he leaves. Not that I want him to leave, but I would love for everything to die down.

“It will, I'm sorry love but I have to get going. Mike is outside waiting. I'll see you tonight after the show?” He asks.

“Wouldn't miss it for the world. Now leave so I can shower and get ready!” I yell at him playfully.

“Shower? I can always be late if you need someone to wash your back?” He has a devilish grin on his face.

“Mr. Payne, you don't need to be late.” I turn him around and start pushing him out of my room.

“Uggg you kill me when you call me Mr. Payne. I love you!” He shouts as he walks out the door and Mike slams it shut.

Ahh. A moment of peace and quiet.

At the party

Everything looks fantastic. The cakes look amazing, the line is already out the door as people are waiting to get in, and the guys just finished their show so they're expected to be here within the hour. I decided on wearing my leather leggins (not what I usually wear but I wanted to look nice), sky high black heals, and a gold tank, my hair is curled even though with how hot it is in here I don't know if it will hold for all night.

I hear a big roar at the front and look to notice the guys have arrived as everyone cheers for them. They're all smiling and happy as they make their way down to the front towards me. Perrie is busy with her own tour and Eleanor was unable to make it as well so I'm the only girlfriend here but I did invite some of my teacher friends to come down so when Liam and the boys are busy I'll have someone to chat with.

Liam sees me and opens his arms to me as he's walking I can't help but smile as he wraps his arms around me and kisses my jaw line and neck. “We've been drinking in the car.” He whispers in my ear. Great is all I can think.

Before I can say anything, the party planner comes out of the kitchen wheeling the boy's birthday cakes and everyone starts singing “Happy Birthday” to Niall and Liam. They are grinning from ear to ear like little boys when they see them.

“I don't even want to cut it, it's so pretty!” I hear Niall yelling. Guess I did good picking them out.

The party goes on and on, drinks flying, people dancing and yelling, it is so much fun. My 21st birthday was nothing compared to this, I got drunk thats for sure, but it was just some friends and I at a bar. I only had one drink because I was driving home and I thought Liam should celebrate his birthday to the fullest tonight.

Speaking of Liam, he's finally making his way back to me as I'm sitting in a booth with some friends. He scoots over next to me and rests his head on my shoulders.

“Hi.” He says as he smiles up at me.

“Hi yourself.” I let out a giggle.

"I love you."


"I love you too Liam." Drunk Liam is out to play.

“So I've been thinking.” He starts out, I can tell he's beyond tipsy. “That you should move to London with me, when the tour ends.” He jerks himself upright and looks very serious.

“I would love to move with you Liam but I can't, I have a contract, I have to finish out the school year, remember?” I remind him, we've had this conversation plenty of times in the last few days. In fact, this topic of conversation has caused many of our arguments this past week.

“I just want to protect you. And you can go on tour with us, you can be at my side every waking moment.” He's starting to slur his words slightly.

“I know Liam, but that's not what I want, I want to teach and get my Masters and P.h.D. You know this.” I gently remind him again, he's drunk, this is his party, I don't want to upset him.

“But can't you just give it up for me? I have money, I can pay for everything you'd ever need. Isn't that every woman's dream?” Really?

“No Liam, it's not every woman's dream. Mine is to be a professor, not a house wife. I don't need your money. You're making me really upset, could you please just stop talking about this and not ruin the night.” I really don't want to deal with this. And if we talk about it I'd rather do it when he's sober.

“You just don't want to be with me at all. It's all about you. You never sacrifice for me!” Liam starts shouting at me as my friends look at me confused.

“Liam, please stop and lower your voice.” I'm trying to calm the situation before I say something I'll regret.

“No, don't tell me to calm down. I'M CALM.” He yells at me, obviously not calm.

I start looking around in a panic to see if any of the guys or his security team will help me as all my friends scoot out of the booth. How embarrassing.

“Nothing to say? Nothing to tell me with that fancy university education? I could get any girl in this place and I picked you, and you won't even quit teaching to be with me. I'm not giving my life up, my life is amazing, people want to be me Codi. You know how many girls I turn down a day because I'm with you? Huh?” He's just letting it lose now.

I'm not saying a thing. Words cannot come out of my mouth. Tears start to fall from my face as I look forward and down. Apparently this is how Liam feels.

I hear Niall and Harry come to my rescue.

“Hey Liam, lets get some water.” Niall says as he attempts to grab Liam's arm.

“No, I don't need water, I need another drink, its our birthday party!” He yells. “Happy Birthday to me!”

“Is that why you're making your girlfriend cry? Because it's your birthday party and you think you can do whatever you want?” Harry asks as he stands in front of me almost to protect me.

“She's being selfish! She won't move to London so I can protect her and see her all the time. She just wants to teach. It's stupid. She's over reacting.”

“No, you're overreacting Liam.” Niall yells at him. “She's crying because you can't respect her dreams like she respects yours. She'd never ask you to give us up, don't do that to her.”

“I don't need to give up my dream, I'm successful. She's just a teacher.” Throwing more hurtful words towards me.

“You're saying some stupid stuff mate, really hurtful things. Back off.” Harry threatens.

“Oh, and you're telling me what to do now? You love Codi? I waited over a year to be with her and you think that sticking up for her is going to get you somewhere? It's not, she's a prude.” Liam is all worked up now and I have no courage to even look at him.

“Stop Liam!” Niall yells and pushes him back. I can't take it anymore.

“I've had enough. I'm leaving.” I finally get the courage to stand up for myself. “Don't bother coming back to my house Liam. I'll have your stuff packed and waiting for someone to pick up.” I push past him and wipe the tears that are falling from my cheeks.

He grabs my wrist as I brush past him.

“Don't touch me. Don't you dare touch me.” I command him as I jerk my wrist free and continue walking. Nobody tries to stop me. And of course, once outside the paparazzi are all over me as soon as I walk outside.

I've had enough. I've had enough.

I'll be posting the last chapter tomorrow!! I could have done it today, but apparently I just want you all to wait. :)
