Megan's POV

"Sweet heart, wake up." My mom said shaking me.

"Why?" I asked my voice hoarse, and eyes still closed.

"It's past eleven thirty. You need to wake up and face the day." She said in a happy tone.

"Would you like some lunch?" She asked.

"No thanks. I'm not hungry and I'm really tired still" I said.

"Okay. Well I guess you can sleep a little longer lazy bones." She said jokingly walking out of my room.

A few minutes later of trying to fall back a sleep but failed miserably. I sat up and put my hand to my chest because for some reason it hurt, it's been hurting a lot lately but I haven't put much thought into it. I finally have up on trying to sleep, so I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of jeans and a plain black t-shirt. Once I got dressed I walked down stairs coughing.

"Megan that cough has gotten worse. Are you okay?" My dad asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lie, I think it's just a cold. But I don't say that because they worry to much.

"Well I scheduled a doctors appointment yesterday. Because your cough sounded like it was getting worse. It's for today at three. I looked at the time and it was twelve.

"Well I'll be in my room if you need me." I said and walked back upstairs. I laid back down on my bed and turned on the TV and started to channel surf until I saw reruns of Full House. Before I know it I drifted off to sleep as little Stephanie Tanner said "how rude."

"Megan wake up its time to go to the doctors." My mother said waking me up for the second time today. I groaned and got up to brush my hair. We left the house and my mom started the car while I put the cd I made with all the Demi Lovato songs. The first song that started to play was La La Land. The drive to the doctors office went by quickly and before I knew it we were in the room waiting for the doctor to come. A few minutes later my doctor came in.

"Hello Megan. What seems to be the problem?" Dr. Bongo asked.

"Well she's been coughing but it's been getting worse." My mom answered for me.

"Anything else?" She asked while writing what my mother said down.

"Well actually my chest has been hurting when I cough, breath deeply, or laugh." I said.

"Well were going to have to run some tests on you." She said then walked out out if the run, to come back moments later and started to run the tests.

Once she was done running the tests she went to wait for the results. When she came back she had a deep frown on her face.

"Well the results came back as I suspected." She stopped for a moment then continued. "Megan, you have lung cancer."

I stared at her with no emotion. I didn't think she was telling me the truth. But she continued again.

"We will give you an air tank to use to help your breathing. You will have to take it everywhere you go. I'm sorry this happened to you. But here is a support group for girls with diseases. You may go if you'd like." She said handing me a card which I'm guessing was information on the support group on it. "Will you think about it? They help many girls get through their disease. Please give it some thought." I nodded.

"I'll think about it." I said barely above a whisper.

"I'll go get you an air tank." I nodded again and waited for her to return. My mom said in the corner on the chair and silently cried. I hadn't yet shredded a tear. I was too mad at the world. To show any emotion. Soon Dr. Bongo returned with a tank and showed me how to put the 'cord things'(idk what their called) in my nose and how to turn the tank on. She gave me a little cart to roll the tank in while I walk. My mother and I left the doctors office while I rolled the tank while the 'cord things' in my nose. Aren't I in for a living hell.

Hiiiii, Megan here. I hope you liked this chapter. :) Btw, I chose lung cancer because I finished The Fault in Our Stars and I'm literally obsessed. So yeah. :)
