To the Rescue

" Come one were going to late! " My mum practically screamed. I jog down the stairs wearing this. We are heading into the local clinic because lately I have been having some problems breathing.

I got to the living room and she was standing there ready to go. " I'm all ready to go." I told her. She nodded and we trotted outside to her blue Geep, she put the key in and started the car. I immediately turned up the radio and she gave me one of those 'my car my radio' looks. I gave her a sheepish smile. Me and her have a interesting relationship where we really didn't communicate as far as talking goes.

We pulled up to the clinic parking lot and stopped. "This is it." Mum stated "Yup. " I agreed

We walked into the small, old town clinic and marched to the front desk.

"Hello. " She greeted "Hi my name is Bethany Shuman I'm 18 and I have an appointment. " I said " Uh, yes Ms. Shuman, your nurse is waiting. "

Mum took a seat. I walked over to the door where the lady pointed me to and stepped in.

"Bethany! " My nurse exclaimed "Hi Rob! " I greeted. "So you say you have been having some problems breathing? " He asked " Yes. " I said " Okay then let's run some KAT
scans. " He said and we walked into another room.

' Skip Scan '
I sat down on the bed that was in the room and awaited Rob's return. He opened the door with the results in his hand and looked me in the eye.

" Beth, I have some bad news... " He started " Your lungs are beginning to fill with puss, Beth you have pneumonia. " He stated with a sympathetic look on his face.

I felt a single tear run down my cheek.

" Now listen, there are support groups fore girls with diseases like yours, would you fancy going to them? "

I nodded

" Okay, we need to run some more test on you so your going to have to stay over night. " he said " Does that mean I get to wear one of those air tube things? " I asked. He chuckled and stepped out the room.
