Forever and Infinity
Sexy and the Beast
Harry
It had been five days. Five whole days since I had last seen or talked to Paisley. I wanted to call her and talk to her, but I didn't really know what to say. I wanted to know what was wrong with her, and why she wasn't as open as she used to be, but I didn't want to pressure her.
I missed the times when we did everything together. We had so much fun. There was an ice cream shop a block from her house in Holmes Chapel, and we'd go there every Friday and try and see who could eat the fastest without getting a brain freeze. There was also this pet shop a block from the discount store that always had a new litter of puppies. She always told me she wanted a Klee Kai, but they were too expensive. But we went there almost all the time just to play with the puppies.
After school sometimes we'd visit the pond out behind my house in Holmes and swim until our lips were blue and the pads of our fingers were pruned. Then we'd go inside and drink hot chocolate and watch old Disney movies. Her favorite Disney movie was The Lion King; a movie I haven't seen in at least four years. Then she'd force me to watch Cinderella. "It's the perfect love story," she would always say. "I could only dream of a happy, sappy, romantic ending. What about you?" I would just shrug, mentioning that I've never really believed in happy endings.
I pulled up to a deserted coffee shop just outside of town, and went inside. For a second I thought it really was deserted, but then I noticed a girl sitting on a lounger in a big sweatshirt, drinking coffee and staring out the window into nothingness. Not giving her a second glance, I ordered my mocha.
The barista wasn't the same one as usual, because she was deciding to be a little flirtatious today. She went on and on about useless shit, and by the time she was finished, she somehow managed to slip a piece of paper with her number scribbled on it in my hand. "Call me any time, babe," she smirked, biting her lip seductively. Or, she tried to bite it seductively. She just looked like a fucking cow. "Definitely," I fake smiled.
I turned and noticed the girl that was sitting there before was gone, and the front door was swinging. My curiosity got the best of me, and I walked out and saw a figure not too far ahead.
I picked up my speed, and once I reached her, I noticed something different. It was-
"Harry."
That's it. Not even an ounce of joy in her voice. She spoke my name as though I was just thin air.
"Paisley, fancy seeing you out."
She closed her eyes, and the wind whipped her hair around her face. Opening them, she didn't look at me, but off into space.
"V'got nothing better to do."
"Damn it, Paisley!" I suddenly voiced, almost spilling my drink. She was caught off guard at my sudden harshness and took a step back. "Do you not like me? Huh? Did I do something to piss you off and make you cower away? Is this what this is?"
"N-no, not at all. I just.... I just... I don't know anymore!"
That's when she lost it. She fell to the ground in a heap and started to shake uncontrollably. Thank God the streets were empty.
I sat down beside her and pulled her into my lap, so her legs were on either side of me and she was facing me. She refused to look at me, and continued to look down as soft whimpers released from her lips.
"Paisley, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to lash out. I just care about you so much, and it hurts me to see you this way," I said, pulling her closer so our torsos were touching and her head was resting on my shoulder. "I miss you. I miss the old you. And I'm scared that I'll never see her again. She made me so happy, and now she makes me want to cry, knowing that there is nothing I can do."
She remained silent, so I leant down and pressed a delicate kiss to her neck. I felt her stiffen in my embrace. "Please, Paisley. I'm begging you. Come back to me."

"OH MY GOSH ARE YOU KIDDING ME, HARRY?" Desiree yelled in my face. Don't get me wrong, she was an amazing girl, but she had a temper.
She pulled out a tabloid and shoved it in my face. "What's this, huh? cheating on your girlfriend?" I stepped back so I could fully take in the picture. It was a picture of Paisley and I sitting on the ground all wrapped up in each other. Thankfully, her face was hidden. But how did they- "HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF PAPS HIDING? THEY'RE EVERYWHERE-" I slapped my hand over her mouth. "I didn't cheat, Desiree. And stop the damn yelling! She's my best friend, and she's going through a hard time, so just leave it be." "LEAVE IT BE? LEAVE IT BE?" She threw her hands up in the air and paced back and forth.
We were currently at her house, and we were supposed to be acting like a normal couple, but no! She has to pull the damn jealousy card. "DESIREE CALM THE FUCK DOWN! GET A FUCKING GRIP, ITS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU! I CARE ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE, TOO!"
She stopped pacing, turned around, strutted up to me, grabbed the collar of my shirt, and slammed her lips onto mine. I tried to keep up with her, but her lips moved on my own as fast as they do when she's bitching.
I pushed her off of me. "Oh, so is this about this bitch in that photo? AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH? IS SHE AS SEXY AS I AM? IS SHE AS-"
"I'll be back when you're done," I said calmly. And with that, I walked out, slamming the door in her face.
I wished she understood that I liked her a lot, instead of getting jealous.
But I wish she understood that Paisley meant a lot to me.
Desiree and I had only been together for about three weeks. She and I got together after I broke up with Carley. Even though Carley and I ended not only because she was a bitch, but she was hating on Paisley, I hoped that this relationship would be different. Plus, management said she would be good for the press.
There was only one problem, though. When I was with Desiree, I felt nothing. Not even a little spark.
