Niall

As I walked down the hallway, I catch a glimpse of her. Loren. She is skipping, literally skipping down the other hallway with Louis and Leah, and they all look so cheerful. Just the sight of her makes me stop in my tracks and want to fall to the ground. But then I remember that I don’t want to be late to jazz band and that I am carrying a guitar and I don’t really think that the middle of the hallway is a good place to collapse. Or any place, really. Speaking of going to jazz band, I have to remind Mr. Hasen that Leah has drama today. She alternates days when she has drama and jazz band, and today she gave me the honor of telling Mr. Hasen about her whereabouts.

Further down the hallway, I see Harry shutting his locker.

“Hiya, Harry!” I call.

He turns and once he realizes who I am, he grins. “Hi.”
“What are you up to?” I say.

“Nothing, about to go home. What about you Niall? I haven’t seen you in ages it seems.”

“On my way to jazz band. We should hang out soon.”

Harry nodded and his phone buzzed. Holding up a finger, he looked at his phone. It seemed to be a text message. “From Loren.” Harry said, answering my thoughts.

Trying to not seem to straightforward in my motives, I asked, “What are you guys talking about?”

At this, Harry smiled the widest grin ever. “Well, she is just helping me with some girl problems, nothing much.”

“And who’s the lucky lass?”

Harry blushed. “You know Erin...”

“Erin? Oh, Erin! Harry, that’s great! I hear that she might like you too.” I was beyond relieved. I thought for awhile that Harry and Loren had finally decided to go out, but at this news I was ready to try and get Loren’s attention. Keyword: try.

“You think she might like me? Well that just makes this text so much better.” Harry cradled his phone like it was a baby. I was just a tad bit confused, but I didn’t press on. “I gotta go, like, now,” he said.”See you Niall!” He was already starting to jog down the hallway.

“See ya.”

Then, I realized that I was late for jazz band, so I sprinted down the opposite end of the hallway.
