Loud and Clear

Dorothy?

"Hello. My name is Dorothy." I stared at the woman, not believing my eyes.
"And I'm Sarah. Sarah Velicity." Velicity? What kind of name is Velicity?
"N-nice to meet you." I said, quietly. She looked at me, up and down.
"Obviously. Uh, Mom? Do you think us three can go shopping? Like, as soon as possible." She said, looking at my clothing. I pressed my lips into a line, narrowing my eyes.
"Of course! What a wonderful idea!" Dorothy said. I'm expecting a tornado to come through and take her and her dog "Over the rainbow". Seriously. I'd be happy.
"Awesome! Can we go to the mall? Like, ASAP?" She asked, glaring at my clothes. I narrowed my eyes, glaring back. She scrunched her nose, and looked away.
"Of course! I'll get my keys." She said, starting to walk away.
"Wait!" They turned, looking at me. "Did you ask my dad?" I said, emphasizing the my. Sarah rolled her eyes when her mom wasn't watching.
'Yes of course." She said, turning to Dad, "Is it alright with you, Greg?"
"Greg? Greg isn't his na-" I said, before getting cut off.
"Of course it is! Don't mind my daughter. She's used to calling me the old man." She smiled. Sarah snickered. Before walking to the car.
"See you out there! And try to actually look like your not an emo." She said, no louder than a whisper. I touched my blue highlights, running my hands through them.
"Stupido." I muttered to myself, and walked out the door.
"I will see you after dinner. We have very important things to discuss when you get back, Dorothy." I stopped. Shaking. I finally managed to walk away, tears not threatening to fall.
