Their Anniversary

Harry’s POV

After I’m done with my quick shower, I rush over to a guest bedroom which I claimed mine a long time ago and find my old clothes. Quickly putting them on, I rush downstairs and see Alexandria baking cupcakes. “You’re doing that wrong. You mix to the left when you use milk, and to the right when you use water.” I say walking over to her and she huffs. “Well Styles, how about you cook the cupcakes and I ice them?” She says. “Ok Ms. Payne.” I say rolling my eyes and I start to make the cupcake batter. Alexandria watches me intently as she makes the icing for the cupcakes. “I also need you to make pies and a cake with two tiers because I’m throwing Liam and Danielle a home coming party.” She says smiling and dips her finger in the icing. “Why exactly? You see them every day.” I say but she smiles wickedly. “Unlike you, I remember that today is their anniversary and the day they decided to adopt me.” She says as she starts to make pies. Placing the cupcake batter in the oven, I close it gently and turn it on 450 degrees Fahrenheit. By the time I walk over to Alexandria, she has the two cake tiers made and is placing them in the second oven. “Tell me, how are my parents so rich?” She asks and I smile. “Well, one was a lawyer the other was a doctor. Liam of course being the lawyer because he doesn’t have a damn steel stomach.” I say chuckling and Alexandria smiles. “So tell me Alexandria, why are you so fond of that puppy of yours?” I ask. “Well, Scooter is my puppy. The puppy that literally attacked a teddy bear because he thought it was hurting me. And Scooter is a close friend, he knows my deepest darkest secrets.” She says. “Oh, and Harold call me Alex or Andria.” She says taking out the icing she made, while I get out the cupcakes. I watch her frost each one quickly, while adding in a cute little candy cane part. “Since it’s close to Christmas, why not make this?” She says sliding me the 32 cupcakes. “Go get out the cake tiers while I get out the decorations.” She mummers turning on some music. I hum along quietly as I let her frost, ice, and decorate the cake. “Do you think they’ll like the cake?” She asks examining her work. “Honestly, we all let Niall inspect the food because if he says it looks good, it’ll be amazing. And Alex, this looks amazing, I’ve never seen a kid your age be able to do this.” I say smiling and grab out the pie. She smiles back and starts to make the pie, and once she’s done, she grabs out 16 glasses. “Ok, I need you to call or text every main person we know. As in mum, dad, Lilly, Barbara, Niall, Zayn, Perrie, Sky, Bella, Ethan, Louis, Eleanor, Megan, and Sianna. This will be a family thing.” She says and starts to blend vanilla ice cream, while putting in fudge and caramel randomly. “Those look really good right about now.” I mumble and she finishes off everything. “Ok, so this is based off of chocolate and such. Do you think my parents will like it? Not Niall, my parents.” She says and my smile grows wider than ever, showing both of my dimples. “They won’t love it, they’ll stare in awe because they truly have a gifted daughter.” I say and text everybody on my important contact list saying to come to Liam and Danielle’s at 4 pm. “Harry, I have a banner in the closet, and I need you to hang it up.” She says, tipping some vodka in her parents glasses. I do as I’m told and hang the banner up as people knock on the door. “Stall them! I need to set this up!” Alex says and starts to move everything to one spot or another. She runs away from the kitchen, up the stairs, and to her room I guess. Three minutes later she rushes downstairs slipping on her left shoe, completing her outfit. Alex walks to the door and opens it, letting everybody enter. Liam and Danielle enter last and they cover their mouth with their hand. “Officially the second best day ever!” Danielle says. “Second? Second? What, why?” Alexandria asks. “After adopting you.” Liam says. “Ok…Now everybody follow me!” She says clapping her hands and we all walk to the kitchen. “Holy crap…Who did this? Harry?” Louis asks looking at me. “I only made the cupcake batter, she did all of that.” I say and everybody nods. “Ok so I only had limited supplies, so everybody only get’s 2 cupcakes, 1 piece of pie, 4 pieces of cake, and one glass of milkshakes.” She says and Niall smiles. “Food! You are now officially my cake manager.” He says patting Alex on the back and Lilly scoffs beside me. “She always tries to show off. It’s so annoying.” She says rolling her eyes. “Lilly, she worked hard for this, so just be happy for her because she was freaking out.” I say and walk over to Liam. “You know, Alexandria always comes up with ways to surprise us. I’m proud of her.” He says. “She has a gift.” I say smiling and he nods.

***1 hour later***

“Ok, since it’s my parents anniversary, and another anniversary, we as the kids are giving the parents a day off!” Alex says happily and everybody cheers. “Hmm we don’t even need a day.” Lilly says tracing over my arm. “Stop, our kids are here.” I say and walk off again for the 3rd time. “Hey Harry!” Somebody shouts. I turn around and see Alexandria. “Thank you for helping me with the cupcake batter. It means a lot.” She says and hugs me. I hug her back and let go. She walks off and out of the door with Megan and her friends.

I think I like my best mates daughter more than I should…
