Niall’s view:
“You little shit!” I yelled. Everyone stopped and looked at me. “I was kidding.” I laughed and they followed. Tyler took the ball and was gone before I was able to even think about what to do.
“Niall cover left!” Jasper hollered. I did as I was told and Michelle was able to get the ball and pass it to me. As soon as I had it I took one glance and saw Jasper wide open. I passed and he scored. We all chest bumped and set up for the next play.
“Niall who is that??” Michelle asked pointing to a van with cameras hanging out of the windows.
“Shit.” I ran behind a trashcan to hide.
“Niall what's wrong??” Anna crouched down with me. I cuddled her into me and smiled.
“Paps just found me and I need to be going.”
“Are you ashamed to be seen with the ratty kids from the block??” Tyler asked looking mad.
“No it's not that!” I said defensively.
“Then why are you hiding behind a trashcan??” Jasper asked following Tyler’s example.
“It's just a habit.” I whispered to myself as I looked at the metal in front of me. I stood up with Anna on my arm.
“So are you leaving??” Jasper asked staring at the van.
“It is late.” I sighed not wanting to leave.
“Well it was fun whilst it lasted.” Michelle seemed down.
“Hey, hey, hey. Cheer up. I'll be back. It may be a whilst but I would love to actually beat you guys sometime.” I smiled and dropped Anna to hug Michelle.
“Come here you crazy player.” Troyer pulled me into a hug. Anna was a bit shyer and less forward so I had to hug her and then I fist bumped the guys and headed to my car. I didn’t want to leave them at the drop of a hat but it was late all together and Liam was probably going to question me then murder me when I walk through the door. I honked and waved goodbye. I drove home and as I neared the cozy yellow house I started to get drowsier and drowsier. I slumped inside and felt the nice scent of candles bring the aroma in my nasal passages.
“Where have you been??” Liam questioned. It's not like I wasn’t ready for it but just the anger in the voice made me jump a bit.
“I was out with some friends.” It's not like it was a total lie. They were nice enough to be friends. I'm sure they considered me a friend too.
“Why so late?? Did you not notice the time?? Today was our only day off for a whilst and tomorrow we have to get right back to work and set up battles.” Liam was trying not to scold me but failing to his dismay.
“Look, I'm tired and going to shower and bed. I'm here and I can tell you I didn’t get into any trouble. Isn’t that what you wanted??” I got snippy but I thought I had the right to since he has been nothing less than on my case lately.
He sighed. “Just go.” He wasn’t happy. I just left like he told me. I showered off the nasty sweat smell I worked up and felt a bit sore from all the playing. I haven’t really had much work out time since I have hit this depression streak. Maybe some extra time at the gym would help me feel better. I'll have to see what I can do to get some time off.
“Niall??” There was a knock on my door.
“Yeah.” I really wasn’t in the mood to see anyone, actually I haven’t been in that mood for a long time but I just needed to pretend I was ok. Maybe then I would start to believe it.
“Could we talk??” I knew who it was by the pleading voice.
“Sure.” Harry came walking in and sat on the bed and I sat up.
“Look I said some things that were clearly out of line and I just wanted to apologize and see if we could figure out what is going on. We never fought over a girl until Izallouis came along and I still don’t think that it is worth it.” He smiled weakly.
“You knew I liked her. You even made jokes about it.” I said going back to the first time I saw her. I knew I wanted to know her then and there.
“I know but it's not what you think. We are just friends and she doesn’t want me, just like I don’t want her, like that.” He explained.
“You told her you love her on the phone.” I was bringing it up.
“No I didn’t.” He defended.
“At the show, during the break I heard you in the bathroom on the phone.” I looked at my hands. I shouldn’t deceive him like that. We got so caught up on her that we started to hurt each other intentionally. I hate hurting him because he seriously is one out of four of my best friends.
“That was my mum, Niall.” He smirked downward.
“Oh…” I feel so stupid. I am such an idiot. Then it hit me. He was meeting that person at Charlotte’s. His mum is in London right now. “You're lying.” I called him out.
“What??” He gave me a look.
“Your mum is in London.” I called out again.
“No she came in for a vacation.” He was going to keep with this. Seriously, even after I called him out??
“If you want to make this better stop lying.” I said just mad again.
“Niall, I swear she is here.” He said.
“Just get out of my room.” I said pointing to the door. I'm ok with him trying to fix everything but if fixing everything means lying about it then I frankly don’t want it to be fixed. I would rather fight with him about the truth than be his friend with a lie.
“Just trust me.” He croaked out. I didn’t look at him. I knew he had left when I heard the click of the door.
“Ugh.” I groaned leaning back on my bed. This is bullshit.
