It Never Ends

Makeshift Chemistry.

*Louis’s POV*

Seeing Monse kissing illianna kind of triggered me into anger, but hurting Niall broke me into a million pieces.

Niall was right though. I did embarrass him in front of his family.

It just made me upset that he wouldn’t believe Lily and me about his girlfriend. I know what I saw, and I was never one to lie to Niall.

He must’ve like Monse a whole lot for him to deny everything. I know he has deep feelings for her, but I wouldn’t make something up like that.

And then he threw all of mine and illianna’s relationship struggles back into our face. It really hurt, but I guess we deserved it for yelling at him in front of everyone.

I was very angry that he classified illianna and I as the ‘broken couple’, but if anyone were to reflect on our past and the little bit of time we were together it would make sense.

My only hope is to not try and lose a best friend. Niall is too fragile to be left by himself without me.

It was a Sunday afternoon and I was laying in my bed, so many things flooding into my head.

There was only about two weeks left of school and then I would have to be on my way to college.

I didn’t get any scholarships for soccer and my main goal was to play college soccer. I never filled out any college applications so I guess it meant I would have to stay local.

There were so many things coming up such as the senior pictures, the senior parades, and graduation.

I spoke to a college scout after our last playoff game and he talked about recruiting me to go play for him at some college, not sure which one.

I wanted to see what the rest of the boys were going to do after graduation so I figured I call each one of them, starting with Niall.

His phone rang three times and on the forth one, I was pretty sure he didn’t want to talk to me.

He answered, but his voice was very dissatisfied.

“Yeah, Louis?” he answered with agitation.

“Hey, Niall…” I responded with embarrassment.

I could tell Niall was still upset, so I thought I’d just make this quick.

“You have a lot of nerve calling me after that stunt you pulled yesterday, man.” He blurt.

“Look, Niall. I’m sorry. If I could go back and approach you in a different way, I would.”

There was a silence and I had to speak his name to see if he was still on the line.

“Monse told me everything. She told me about the kiss and you yelling at her.” Niall finally spoke.

“I’m sorry for yelling at her.”

“Don’t tell me.” Niall said. “Tell her that.”

“I’m just sorry that I didn’t believe you. I didn’t think she would do something like that.” He continued.

I nodded my head, even though he couldn’t see me.

“I don’t blame you, man. I wouldn’t have believed it either even if illianna was the one to come on to Monse.” I giggled.

Niall giggled back and I knew that everything was going to be okay between us.

“Sorry for being a bitch and not apologizing to you in your face.” I said.

“I forgive you. I wouldn’t do it either if I was you. This is awkward.” Niall laughed. “It was awkward when Monse told me.”

“So are you two still together? You guys were perfect.”

“Yeah. I forgave her. She made it hard not to.” He chuckled. “And I am so sorry for bringing up all of the personal issues about you and Lily.”

“We both fucked up yesterday, man. But I guess it’s something that we all needed to hear.” I tried to agree with him.

“That sounds alright.” He agreed. “I’m behind on a shit load of homework. I’m about to give one-hundred percent on it right now.”

“We have to. These teachers swear they aren’t going to let us graduate if we don’t do their work.”

We both laughed, because it was true.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, man.” I finally said.

“Yeah, bye Lou!”

I hung up, pleased that we were able to become best friends again in a short time. I’ll have to ask him tomorrow about his plans after graduation.

I needed to do my homework, but I was hungry.

My food was downstairs so I tip-toed down the stairs and into the kitchen. I looked into the pantry and refrigerator, becoming upset because all the food needed to be cooked.

I needed illianna here, but I knew she was probably wrapped up in her own homework or making up with Zayn.

I was too lazy to cook, and because I didn’t know how.

So I just went a checked the mail flipping through the envelopes that were just in my parents’ names.

One envelope caught my eye because it had my name on it. It was from a boarding school.

I opened it and read the letter thoroughly and looked through the pictures of the school.

The letter was written from the college scout I spoke to, Edward Burgoius.

Edward is the head coach of an elite soccer camp in Spain, and he is giving me a full ride scholarship to go and play for him.

He is willing to pay for me to travel to Spain, take my college courses, and help me become an international soccer star.

He handwrote the letter himself that I wanted to be sure so I licked my finger and spread it over the ink of his pen to make sure it was real, and it was.

Burgoius even left his phone number and email for me to contact him.

All the crazy thoughts went flying through my head.

“I could soon play for the World Cup!” I whispered with so much enthusiasm.

If I chose to move to Spain, I could get a free college application and become a famous soccer player all over the world!

I could be playing besides Leo Messi, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Javier Hernandez, and so many others! I could play on the same team as my idol if I take this opportunity.

This was always my dream to become an all-star around the world and I was finally going to get my chance.

After graduation, I was going to Spain!

I ran back inside to show the letter to my parents, who were sleeping but stopped when my phone rang.

illianna was calling me, and all of the air left my lungs. There wasn’t going to be an easy way to tell her about this.

She meant so much to me that I could never picture her without me by her side anymore. She needed to come with me.

But she has to finish her last year of high school, and I knew that Zayn wouldn’t let her come.

And as much as I really wanted to go, I knew I couldn’t leave her behind.

But if I didn’t go to Spain, I wouldn’t do nothing here after graduation.

And if I did go, it means that I will have to leave illianna.
