*illianna’s POV*

Louis and I have been together for a week now, but it feels like eternity. The days seem to go by slower, perhaps of all the time I spend with Louis.

I’m no longer the only single girl on the soccer team. Louis makes it seem as if he was always my boyfriend. And he lets everyone know that I’m his.

And whatever happened between Jenna and Louis must have been awful. I can tell that she hates me but she doesn’t have Louis anymore, and that is all that’s important.

Today is a game day for the boys. It’s their first round of playoffs against a school called Grand Oaks High. The boys have beaten them before, but they need to prevail against them again tonight to advance into the second round.

The girls and I were sitting in the cafeteria during lunch, waiting for our boyfriends to return with our food and discussing Grand Oaks.

“We beat the Oak girls in a regular game this season and last season in the playoffs. I think the guys have it in the bag tonight.” Harry’s girlfriend Elsa, reminds us.

“Yeah, but the guys were tougher than the girls. Our boys barely won last time. Remember?” Liam’s girlfriend Reyza, informs Elsa.

“Well if the boys beat them last time, I’m pretty sure they can again tonight. It was only one goal that made them win.” Monserret predicts.

“Ladies, we’re thinking positive here.” Ariana tries to calm the girls down.

“Grand Oaks is good, but we’re better. We can win tonight. The guys won’t let us down.” I persuade them as our boyfriends join our side.

Louis places a spicy chicken sandwich with a Gatorade in front of me. I should be continuing to eat healthy, but what’s the point?

“What do you mean we won’t let you down?” Zayn asks, handing Ariana her food.

“We were talking about the game tonight. We believe that you guys can win, but it may be a close one.” I admit, seeing their faces drop nervously.

“Oaks is good, they just got lucky with their penalty kick.” Liam says, mentioning events from the last time they played Oaks. “I feel confidence in our game tonight.”

The moods bright up a bit from everyone.

“We told you ladies that we’re going to win it all for you, and we’re going to.” Harry chimes, sliding his arm over Reyza’s shoulder.

“You guys will win tonight. I know you can.” I cheer.

“There’s the spirit!” Louis cheers as well, pecking me on my cheek.

We start eating and make conversation. Our conversation consisted of who had the answer to the physics test or who did the book report for our novel, ‘The Scarlett Letter’.

Zayn, Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam, Elsa, and Reyza were all seniors, but were in the lower English class which made them have the same curriculum as a junior English class.

Ariana, Monserret, and I were juniors and in the AP English classes. So it meant that we were able to help our friends in need. And I understand why they all chose to take the lower academic classes.

They’re seniors. They want to relax their last year of High School.

“You’re coming tonight, aren’t you?” Louis asked me, regarding the game.

He talked in a whisper, seeing that every other couple was busy in their own conversations.

“Of course. I have to make sure my boys win. I know you guys will.” I encourage.

“I agree, you have pretty feet by the way.” He told me, motioning towards my pedicure.

“Please keep your weird fetishes to yourself.” I laughed.

I will admit that this is probably my third time wearing sandals to school. I’m not in my usual outfit which was a t- shirt and jeans or training pants with a jersey.

I was in a pair of dark blue jeans, a white crop top, my beige cardigan, and gold sandals. I feel utterly uncomfortable, but I wanted Louis to know that I have a soft side towards him.

As for him, he will always look good in training pants.

Louis snorted and poked my sides, causing me to giggle and thrash around until I was pretty much leaning on him.

I sat up next to him and brushed my long hair to the side.

Louis grinned and rested his hand on my hip, running it up my cardigan coming in contact with my bare hipbone and tracing my curves.

I always thought I had a perfect body shape, but it sort of fell off after I used to dose myself with supplement shakes. I haven’t gotten near on in a while, so I was able to gain some weight back but nothing dramatic.

“You know, you’re the most beautiful girl in the world.” Louis informed me, running his hands down my arms and to my hands, where he laced our fingers together.

“You really mean that?” I mumble.

Louis sighed.

“In my eyes, nobody will ever compare to you.” He spoke, pulling me closer to him.

I nodded and connected our lips.

We both smiled into the kiss and Louis’s hand released mine and then began to roam my backside, I did the same to him.

We relished each other’s touch for a few minutes before someone stepped in front of us.

Jenna Russo.

The both of us sighed and pulled away from each other. The rest of the group turned their attention towards Jenna.

“So you broke up with me for her?” Jenna points out her finger to you.

Louis puts his arm around me protectively.

“And for another reason. But I don’t think you would want me to say it now, would you?” Louis interjects making Jenna’s eyes widen.

“Yes, I broke up with you for illianna. And I’m glad that I did. She actually supports me. Something you never did.” Louis retaliates.

I relax my tense shoulders, noticing that Louis has the situation under control.

“All you have is dirty hair and clammy skin.” Jenna snickers to me. “I will never understand it.”

“Maybe because I support Louis’s goals and dreams, and I make time around his busy schedule, and I go to every single one of his games, and that I will always be his number one fan.” I retort to her. “What do you have that I don’t?”

“If you’re looking for a fight illianna…” Jenna carries off. Her friend Nelly, as of on point walks to her side.

I escape from Louis embrace and stand from the stool, Ariana joining my side.

“I’m not scared Jenna. I’m no bitch.” I reply.

Zayn stands to stop me and Ariana which causes James Oliver and Brandon Waters to stand by Jenna and Nelly.

Louis stands his ground next to Zayn, grabbing a hold of my hands.

The entire cafeteria has our attention and it is silent. Not a single teacher or assistant principle around.

The baseball and tennis table are standing watching us, and our soccer boys stand up facing them.

“Louis, you better tell her something before I do something. I already told you that I wasn’t going to fight over you.” I remind him.

“No! Just relax Lily. She just wants to humiliate you.” He tries to soothe.

Nelly has stepped back, seeing that she is terrified of Ariana.

“Jenna, back the hell away now. You are not going to start mess right now, especially not what I know about you and James!” Louis yells, earning smirks from everyone in the cafeteria.

James takes a step back, standing next to Nelly. Brandon is confused, as I am.

Zayn grabs Ariana by her arm, making sure she won’t step forward. Louis secures me by my waist. After what Jenna has said to me, he knows that I’m in a dangerous mood.

Jenna and her group walk away, still leaving the heat in my cheeks.

Ariana and Louis sit me down and try to calm me. I don’t know why I’m so upset all of a sudden.

“Thanks for stepping up.” I tell Ariana.

“Aye, it was about to be the five of us against the two of them.” Monserret giggles.

“You don’t have to worry about them babe. I’m here to protect you. Jenna and James should now know to not mess with what’s mine.” Louis assures me, connecting our lips again.

He hugs me and doesn’t let go.

“I want to know what happened between James and Jenna!” Niall whines.

“I’ll tell it if they ever come at us sideways again.” Louis confines.

Wanting to change the subject, I bring up the playoffs again.

“So after you guys beat Oaks tonight, who’s next?” I ask, sipping my Gatorade.

“Our next game will be against Ridgeway. And if we win against them, our third round will be against Clements from Fort District.” Harry and Liam explain.

I spit my drink out of my mouth.

“Clements?!” I repeat, choking.

“Yes! Why?” Harry yells, surprised at my outburst. Reyza begins to clean up the spilled drink.

Louis’s stops me from choking.

I look over at Zayn and Ariana. Zayn in shock and Ariana with her hand over her mouth, looking at me sympathetically.

“What about Clements?” Louis asks again.

I quickly remember my encounter with Clements.

And I want to tell, but I can’t.

But I used to date a soccer player from Clements.

He was number eight and played as the forward.

Nathan.

Nathan Sykes was his name.
