Why Did We Have to Fall in Love?

*5 years later*

Sarah's POV

I opened my eyes after replaying everything that had happened over the last 5 years. Meeting Niall and the rest of the boys and Perrie, Sophia and...Eleanor. Fracturing my ankle, becoming Niall's girl, Harry and Beth's crash, Perrie and Eleanor getting pregnant, Eleanor passing away, Louis going into rehab, Perrie having Maizah, Niall and I became godparents, Sophia and Liam got engaged, Louis got released from rehab, Perrie and Zayn got married, Beth got signed to a record label, Sophia and Liam got married, One Direction went on their "This Isn't Goodbye But See You Later" Tour, Niall proposed to me on their last tour date, Louis met Sierra, his new girlfriend, Beth and Harry got engaged and then married 3 weeks later and now finally it's mine and Niall's wedding day.

I looked at the reflection of myself in the full length mirror that was in Greg's guest bedroom as I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said my voice weak from being nervous. Beth walked in wearing her pale purple chiffon dress, her hair was now a light mousy brown and pinned up, she looked at me and smiled.

"Sarah, you look beautiful."

I looked at myself once again in the mirror and then turned back round to face my best friend. I walked towards her and carefully gave her a hug trying not to damage our hair or dresses.

"You ready?" She asked me.

"Yeah. Yeah I am." I smiled at her and then picked up my bouquet and Beth picked up her and Perrie's smaller bouquets. We then went out into to hallway where Perrie was waiting with my dad who Niall and I had reconciled with after 2 years of not talking to.

Perrie stood up and retrieved her bouquet from Beth and then placed her hand on my elbow softly before smiling at me. My dad cleared his throat before walking over to me and hugging me gently.

"You look beautiful Sarah. I..It's going to be hard for me to give you away today." He said to me his eyes glistening slightly.

"Dad, I love you. I know its been rough this last 5 years on us. But family is family and no matter where we are some part of us will always be there for each other." I said back to him placing one hand into his. "For now lets concentrate on making it down to the altar without a disaster happening yeah?"

He nods agreeing with what I had just said. We all then made our way to the white limo that would take us to the church. After about 10 minutes in the limo we arrived at the beautiful church. Zayn, Maizah and Theo are waiting outside the church patiently as Maizah is the flower girl and Theo is the pageboy. We all got out of the car one by one, I got out last. Zayn went inside after giving Perrie a quick kiss and Maizah a hug. We followed Zayn into the entrance while Zayn went through the next set of doors where everyone was waiting for the ceremony to start. We got lined up in the correct order. Maizah in front with her basket of white and lilac rose petals then Theo holding on a lilac pillow the rings then Perrie being my bridesmaid then Beth being my maid of honour and then my dad and I last.

I heard quiet fall in the chapel where our wedding was being held and then I heard "Beauty And The Beast" being played on the piano.

We all began walking down the aisle. I looked at my dad before we entered the chapel and then I looked at the bottom of the aisle and seen Niall. My heart fluttered and I felt my cheeks flush slightly as his eyes brightened and a smile crept on to his face.

Once we reached the end of the aisle, my dad shook hands with Niall then kissed my cheek before taking his right hand, and removing my right hand from his left arm and placing it in Niall's left hand. I then passed my bouquet to Beth who was standing beside me.

The minister then began the ceremony with us joining hands and facing one another.

"Niall and Sarah - Today you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife, blending your lives, expanding your family ties, and embarking upon the grandest adventure of human interaction. The story of your life together is still yours to write. All those present have come to witness and celebrate your love and commitment this day - eager to be a part of the story not yet told."

The minister continued, "True marriage is more than joining the bonds of marriage of two persons; it is the union of two hearts. It lives on the love you give each other and never grows old, but thrives on the joy of each new day. Marriage is love. May you always be able to talk things over, to confide in each other, to laugh with each other, to enjoy life together, and to share moments of quiet and peace, when the day is done. May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness and a home of warmth and understanding. Niall and Sarah have both decided to say their own vows. Niall you may begin."

Niall cleared his throat softly.

"Sarah. Before I met you I thought I was happy but then when I met you I knew I was happy. You won't believe how happy I was and still am that you said yes to becoming my girlfriend and then saying yes again to becoming my fiancee. We've been through the hard times and we've still got millions more good times to have together. No matter how old we are, no matter where in the world we are, no matter what happens I will always love you. I promise that I will love you forever." He finished with tears rolling down both our faces.

"Sarah you may begin" the minister said.

"Niall, I don't know who I'd be without you. You are my rock, my star, my other half. I never thought in a million years that I would ever get the chance to meet you never mind realize that you are the one. I love you so much I don't think anyone could understand just how much I am in love with you. We always ask each other this question but neither of us ever had the answer until now. Why did we fall in love? We fell in love because both of us were broken in some way and we both fixed each other. I promise to love you forever and always." I finished my vow to hear sniffles to the right of me from our family and friends.

The minister continued to finish wedding us.

"Do you Niall James Horan, take Sarah Metters to be your lawfully wedded wife, promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"

"I do", He says looking into my eyes.

"Do you Sarah Metters, take Niall James Horan to be you lawfully wedded husband,promising to love and cherish, through joy and sorrow, sickness and health, and whatever challenges you may face, for as long as you both shall live?"

"I do", I say looking into his eyes.

"Who has the rings?" The minister questions. Theo then comes up to the altar and holds the silk ring pillow in front of us. "You have for each other special rings – symbols that love is the most precious element in your life together. The ring has no beginning and no ending, which symbolizes that the love between you will never cease. You place these rings upon each others fingers as a visible sign of your vows this day, which will make you husband and wife."

Niall then takes the ring he is about to place on my finger and slides it gently halfway down my finger.

He then said "Sarah, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day."

He then slides the ring down the rest on my finger where it will remain for the rest of my life.

"I promise to wear this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness." I reply.

I then take the other ring and slide it halfway down his finger.

"Niall, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day." I said to him before sliding the ring down to where it will sit for the rest of his life.

"I promise to wear this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness." He replies.

"And now, by the power vested in me by the Church of Ireland, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. Niall, you may kiss your bride."

Niall leaned in to kiss me for the first time as husband and wife, as our lips touch the whole chapel fills with the sound of applause. We part from our kiss and the applause fades.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you for the first time Mr and Mrs Niall James Horan." The minister concludes.

*Kinda like a voice-over in Sarah's POV*

Life is one of those complicated things that no-one will truly understand. Love is one of those things that people can live without but not truly be happy without. Laughter is one of those things that only genuinely happens when you love your life.

However, all those things are just hypothetical.

Life has been good to us all, eventually, so we can't complain.

Harry and Beth have 4 year old twin girls, Anne and Kara.

Louis and Sierra are now engaged after 3 years of dating.

Sophia and Liam have their 2 year old son, Jonathan.

Zayn and Perrie have Maizah and are 5 months pregnant with their second child.

Niall and I are now expecting our first child to enter the world any day now.

One Direction however never continued. The boys are going their separate ways but staying brothers.

Liam, Zayn and Niall have all went solo while Louis has became a professional footballer and Harry has joined a show on the West End.

Every year on the 23rd of September we all meet up and visit Eleanor's grave. We have never forgotten her and she will always be looking after us.

So...

All I can say is love is one of those things that never leaves us and that everyone in love will always ask this question...
