I was having a hard time comprehending what Calum had just told me. I had just gotten back from America, which was amazing might I add. Working with Eminem was fast, hard work, but we have our song written now and he is very inspirational so the whole experience was great. Calum was just explaining to me everything that had happened while I was away. The boys had been writing more songs, rehearsing and travelling a bit for their tours and they also had the pleasure of getting to know Gabrielle – please note my sarcasm. What I was struggling to comprehend though, was the fact that Calum actually liked her, he said and I quote: ‘she was genuinely nice and funny, Luke was happy and we all enjoyed her company I think’. I almost threw up, what a fake little bitch. She must be bi-polar or something and the boys all need their heads bashed into a wall if they actually enjoyed spending time with her.
“You alright there?” he asked looking over at me before returning his attention to the road once I nodded, not being able to form words apart from my hatred of her. “Good, she’s having a party tomorrow night and you’re coming as my date.” Ok now I am seriously going to throw up. There is no way in HELL I am going to that person’s party, nup, nope, not at all.
“You’re terribly funny,” I told him and he looked at me confused. “It must be a struggle being delusional.” I patted him on the shoulder.
“I’m not delusional…” He trailed off.
“Well if you think I’m going to her party then you are.” I huffed and crossed my arms across my chest.
“It’s because I said you would be my date isn’t it? I was just saying that otherwise we are going to be wheeling it as all the others are going to be lovey dovey and it will be awkward for us. Plus, I didn’t want to leave you out of the fun. Anyways even if I wanted you to be my date, Luke would kill me. Shit, I wasn’t supposed to say that out loud. Anyway, at least you get to see Gabrielle, she said she really enjoys your company, it should be really fun.”
“Can you pull over?” I asked him and he looked at me confused. A ‘why’ slipped from his and I rolled my eyes. “Because a. I cannot stand hearing you talk about your new best friend and b. I’m going to throw up because you got the thought of her in my head.” He let out a sigh.
“Don’t be like that Billy.”
“Why not? And how dare you tell me that she enjoys my company, it’s like you believe it yourself. I think you’re replacing me with her. I told you everything that happened out on that lunch and I go away for like two weeks and she’s already got you all wrapped around her little manicured pinky and you don’t even care about any of what I’ve said anymore.”
“Don’t say that, I’m not replacing you. I just think you should get to know her better, she’s really not all that bad when you get to know her. We all have bad days and she is no different. And Bill, you will always be my best friend, don’t doubt that. Plus the only manicured fingers around here are yours so you don’t have to worry about that,” he winked at me.
“Can I poke you’re eyes out?” I asked him seriously.
“Um no,” I saw him gulp, he knows I’m in a mood and being jetlagged doesn’t help.
“Well just stop talking. She’s not a good person, she gives off a bad vibe, she’s rude, disrespectful and she thinks she’s amazing because she has Luke.” I looked over at Calum who now had a smirk on his face.
“You’re jealous,” he pointed out with a slight chuckle and my eyes widened.
“I’m poking your eyes out now,” I said beginning to reach towards him.
“You’ll make me crash the car and then we will both just die, do you want to die?”
“I’d die with my best friend for sure, but right now he doesn’t seem to be around so I guess I’ll have to wait for another day.” Cal frowned and I couldn’t stand to look at him so I sunk down in my seat and squeezed my eyes shut.
The rest of the ride home was silent and I felt worse by the minute. He pulled into my driveway and turned the car off before reaching for the handle, I stopped him though.
“Cal,” I whispered. “I’m sorry,” I told him sincerely and he nodded.
“Me too,” he told me and I shook my head.
“Don’t be, it’s my fault. I’m moody, jetlagged and missing everyone at home. I’m sorry for snapping at you, you’ll always be my best friend Cal, please don’t forget that.”
“I won’t, but it is also my fault. I get the same feeling when I’m around Gab but she is generally nice to me, I’m just glad you’re here, you keep me grounded and you remind me to always consider things so thank you. I missed you. Now get round here and give your best friend a hug.” I jumped out of the car and rushed around to where he was already waiting with open arms. Calum hugs were the best.
“I’m sorry,” I mumbled into his chest and he chuckled.
“Me too, but it’s ok, I forgive you.” I smiled at this and he kissed my head.
“It’s good to be back,” I mumbled, neither of us letting go of each other yet.
“I’m glad you’re back,” his grip around me tightened and I closed my eyes in contentment.
“Something else has changed too.” My eyes fluttered open and I pulled back slightly to look at him.
“What has?” I asked quietly as if it would unsettle the air around us. He started leaning towards me and for a second I thought he was going to kiss me but turns out he was heading to my ear.
“YOU HAVE A NEW ROOMMATE!” He screamed in my ear causing me to jump back and clutch my head, this is the Calum I was used to. But new roommate, the fuck?
“Who? When did this happen and why wasn’t I notified.” He grinned wickedly at me.
“Oh Lauren gave Gabrielle her room because she needed somewhere to live.” He told me as he began to run away from me.
“Nope, I can’t go into that house if she’s contaminated it.” And with that I turned around and got into the car to see the keys were still kindly hanging before I started the car causing Calum to run over and jump in the other side before I could take off and be as far away from that bitch as possible.
“Billy, calm down, I was only joking. Truth is my landlord needs a flat for his visiting family and because he thinks I have all the money in the world he so kindly asked if he could rent out my flat for a month or two so I have just been sleeping on everyone’s couches the past week. Lauren suggested that she could just stay with Ash and I could have her room but I didn’t want to move in until you got back so you were okay with it, but if you’re not I’ll still be fine sleeping on couches.”
“You can move in for sure.” I told him bouncing around in my seat and smiling like an idiot at the thought of moving in with my best friend and all the trouble we’ll be able to cause.
“Thanks Lil,” he told me sincerely. “I think we should get your stuff upstairs so I can move in.” I nodded in agreement and turned the car off before chucking him his keys and climbing out of the car. “I can’t believe you thought we would let Gabrielle move in without your permission.” He laughed at me so I flipped him off.
We unpacked my stuff and headed for the elevator, Cal still somehow managed to have his arm around me though while I was struggling a little. We shuffled out and Cal knocked on my door, causing me to give him a confused look, who would be there? Luke opened the door with a smile on his face and I now understood. He observed us before his smile dropped, Cal’s arm dropping from around my shoulders subsequently. The air around us was tense so I gave Luke a quick hug before pushing past them and heading for my room. I wonder what that was about, what happened there when I wasn’t here?
~Calum~
Luke continued to glare at me as Lily headed towards her room. She looked lovely for having just taken a plane. Luke was being a bit childish about the whole thing, he wouldn’t even admit that he liked her to her face after at least two years, well that’s how long since he acknowledged the fact that he liked her to himself and everyone else, like she’s not that scary, she won’t bite your head off. I think she likes him herself, whether she knows it or not, I’m pretty good at figuring these things out. The only problem was, the thought of her liking Luke hurt me. I let out a sigh as I pushed past Luke and slumped down on the couch next to Ashton.
“You like her, don’t you?” he asked me quietly and I dragged my hand down my face grunting. “I won’t tell Luke, if you work on getting over it.” He compromised with me and I found myself agreeing, Luke was my best friend and he couldn’t find out, he would either kill me or get depressed and self-doubt, knowing him he’d probably do both. Ashton patted me on the back as Luke joined us on the other couch next to Michael. Giggling was heard from the direction of Lily’s room before her and Lauren came skipping out, causing a grin to form on my face.
Lily was the kind of girl who caught every guys attention but she just didn’t know it, and I wanted to show her.
Notes
It's been too long, and this chapter is shorter than normal as well so I apologise :(
I had to go back to school today so I apologise for my language but I fucking hate fucking school and whoever invented that hell whole should die a long, torturous death and go to hell because no one fucking likes it! Anyway, rant over
I don't really have much to say but what do you guys think of Calum's little admission??? Any ideas of what is going to happen?
