“What do you mean it’s not a gum pack/bottle?” I furrow my eyebrows, confused at Niall’s answer. “That’s why I zoomed in, on her lower hand. Here, (He zooms in to Perrie’s hand again) read what’s on the bottle.” I blink my eyes to gain full focus on the letters. “Okay, Niall what’s YAZ?” He jolts back a little bit, shocked by my question. “Jan, you’re a lady. (He blushes) You should know what these are.” Okay, let me think. YAZ… YAZ…Oh no, no it can’t be. Is it the same one I use for...? No. Maybe they have the same names? But it looks so familiar to the one I have?!
“(I speak in fear that I may be right) Niall, are these birth control pills…?” He makes my conclusion turn to a complete truth, just by nodding slowly. “(My voice speaks) It can’t be… (I place a hand over my mouth) She’s pregnant, so how come she’s taking… (I stop as my pupils grow to the extreme size) Wait, does this mean that she’s not?” Niall sighs, moving my hand from my mouth; clearly since I can’t control my physical movement any longer. So this means that there is no new born? Which means Zayn and I … no this might be a misunderstanding.“Niall wait, I don’t want to judge her. So what if she’s holding that bottle?”
Niall waits no longer to reply: “Jan, I swear that I saw her taking the pill. I caught her taking one after we had lunch at the hotel’s restaurant. I was going to the toilet, and then I spotted her swallowing a pill; so I had to snatch a picture. I don’t really know why I took the picture, but it turned out to be handy.”
I cross my arms over my chest, as I ask: “How is that?” He smiles and answers:“Louis has a big mouth you know. (I gulp my breath, as he proceeds) When you left, he told the guys and me the real reason for you leaving Paris. It was the same day I took the picture, yesterday to be precise. I showed it to Lou, and he immediately told me to come here and talk some sense in you, to come back before the wedding ceremony. (He pats my hand) We all support you, because unlike Perrie; you didn’t lie to Zayn in a negative deception. You deserve him and he deserves you, so what do you say?”
I close my eyes, trying to convince myself that this isn’t real. It can’t be, not after what happened. Not after the big act in front of Zayn, no it’s not right. I planned on quitting my job and moving out of the country, how could everything change in a blink of an eye?
God, I question your power and wisdom about one thing: Why is this happening to Zayn and I? Is this finally coming true? Do I still have a chance to fix the unfixable? “(I whisper with a smile, keeping my eyes closed and my head lifted upwards) Thank you.” Niall asks directly in confusion: “For what, love?” I can’t force myself to keep it in any longer, as I fire my loud laughter.
Niall looks at me like I have gotten mentally ill, but for some unknown reason; he joins me in the laughter. “(He speaks through laughs) Seriously, Jan why are you laughing all of a sudden?” I shake my head and jump on him for a surprise hug.
“You’re innocently stupid, do you know that?” He nods on my shoulder, and I laugh more. “I was thanking god, and you thought I was thanking you. but now that you mentioned it, thank you Niall. You know what you just did? You gave me the final chance to save myself from falling apart for the last time…” He rubs my back, and I feel his happy breath released.
“I just want both of my best friends to be happy you know? I know Zayn will be the happiest he can be, if its you wearing that dress at the alter.” I squeeze him in my arms, and thank him. Really I need to thank him and everyone as soon as I am back to Paris… but wait. How am I supposed to go back?
I’m certainly no longer the maid of honour, and I’m sure that vixen, Perrie, told our parents about my slap. God, you amaze me. You fix one problem, and leave the rest for me to untangle on my own. I have faith and patience, and I know that one way or another; I’ll solve this.
