“I’m so not in the mood to go doll up.” Safaa, Zayn’s youngest sister, groans out her true feeling. Right now, it’s Zayn’s sisters and I, sitting around my hotel suite. I enjoy the company of each of Zayn’s sisters; they are so humble and down to earth, unlike their future sister-in-law. “Jan, have you ever considered straightening your hair like mine?” Doniya reaches her hand over my wavy hair (http://www.polyvore.com/aye_captain/set?id=117402992&lid=3453986), while she senses its texture. “Actually no, I never did. I don’t know I’m just used to having waves all the time. I guess I never thought of a different hair do.” The three sisters share a sneaky smile, and then look at me like hungry coyotes.
“Oh no, no n-…” Waliyha jumps and snatches my hand to stand me up, as the other two sisters rush to their positions. “Oh yes, and you will not argue. We will personally prepare you for tonight’s wedding rehearsal dinner. (She smirks and I groan) You’ll be our Barbie doll for tonight.” I roll my eyes in surrender, as each one of the girls finds a task. Safaa takes out my chosen dress for tonight from the closet, and I hear her gasp. “What?” I ask as I turn around, worried that there is something wrong with the clothing.“It’s just beautiful. So simple yet so elegant…” I smile at her admiring looks at my dress, while Waliyha nods with Doniya; approving their little sister’s words.
“(She jokes in a serious tone) Do you trust us for tonight, captain?” I play along with Doniya, as I salute her with my hand.“Alright, mission dress to impress begins now.” I laugh at Waliyha's joke, while I sit down on the chair facing the mirror. “Safaa, go help Waliyha to grab the straightening wand, and grab all of my makeup kit.” The two sisters nod at their eldest, as they leave my room. “May I tell you something, from a friend to another?” I nod to the seriousness of her tone, as she shares with me the same seat.
“Don’t get me wrong, I like your sister so much; but you’re different you know? Like I feel more comfortable joking around with you and acting casual. With Perrie, I feel like I’m a case study’s lab rat. She keeps observing me and if I do something not perfect, I could tell her negative reaction in a glance. I just hope that my brother will be happy with his choice, but really Jan; I prefer being around you more than Perrie. I’m Zayn’s elder sister, and I know a good person when I look at them for the first time. Call me crazy, but I’m never wrong. You’ve been a sister to the three of us from the moment we met you.” I can’t stop my smile, nor make it go away. But a curious comment, swims in my mouth: “Why three and not four? Doesn’t Zayn count me as a sister too?”
I tilt my head low, half happy and half sad. I’m happy that Zayn doesn’t see me as sister material; clearly proven by our session last night. But at the same time, it makes me sad because I feel far from him in the social matter. “Don’t be silly, and yes he doesn’t consider you as a sister. Jan, I don’t know if I should be telling you this, right now. I don’t know it might mess up everything, and you’d be over e-…” I lift my face, and deliver a comforting smile at Doniya.
“It won’t, trust me.” She sighs, and then speaks: “Zayn had feelings for you back in college. I remember him coming to my room daily, and he would blabber about you for hours. (She smiles at her memory) He used to yap things, like: Elle, did this, and Elle said that...He never had the guts to tell you, but I guess he chose Perrie in the end.” I nod, while I feel a heartburn blow up my feelings, making me crooked.
Notes
Let me clear out some things for today. I wrote a chapter, mentioning the voices of Zayn's sisters; because I wanted to show the relationship that they share with Janelle. Clearly, by now, you must have known how much they are close with her, more than they are with Perrie. Doniya's admittance, made everything clear. She told Janelle that Zayn was always fancying her, and how much he was into her. Now, I know a lot of you are wondering, where are the rest of the boys? And why is it only Liam? Don't worry, because they will all show up in the upcoming chapters <3
Questions for tomorrow: Crystal glasses? Someone holding Janelle's waist? Perrie has a huge smile on her face? Someone cutting in? :O
