Janelle's POV:

Zayn’s arm wraps around my waist, and he pulls me tight to his side. “So, I presume you two made up?” Shehroze asks, and I nod slowly with a thankful smile. “Honestly, cousin. Why haven’t you told me that this was THE JANELLE PARISH that you never stopped blabbing about in the previous years? But you know? I could tell there was a strong spark between you two.” Zayn’s palm squeezes stronger around my hip, and I whimper quietly from the minimal hurt.“It’s non of your business, Shero. Go back inside, we’ll be there soon.” Shehroze smirks, as he sends me a playful wink; before he leaves the terrace.
“(He turns his head to look at me) You will not, WILL NOT sit beside that prick of a cousin that I have.” I shrug my shoulder, as his eyebrows furrow in confusion. “I can do whatever I want Zayn. I don’t belong to you nor to anybody. And you, out of all people, don’t get a say in this. You’re a yet-to-be father and husband. Now, if you’ll excuse me I-…” He commands in begging tone, interrupting my words: “Kiss me and I’ll let you go.” I try to wriggle myself from his touch, but he doesn’t allow it. Instead he places his other hand on my free hip, and turns me to face him. He leans down to peck my lips softly, and I do the same. “Was that hard, baby? (I shake my head in denial) Now we can both go back inside.”
…After Dinner/ Back at Home (Past Midnight)…
“Do you need some help in packing?” My stepdad surprises me by poking his head from the door. I’m not packing everything, because I still haven’t emptied my suitcase. The reason why I am choosing what to take out from my bag is because we will be heading to Paris tomorrow in the afternoon. Yes tomorrow, but the wedding isn’t due till more than two weeks from now.
“I’m almost done. Its okay, thanks.” He nods at my reply, and sits on my bed mattress. “You know, I wish I could see you happy with the person you might choose someday. You never showed any interest in finding someone, Jan. I know you might say its non of my business, and I completely agree. But I really want to see you happy, like smiling because a person is the reason, and not for what you might hear or watch; you know?” I nod, my back facing my stepdad’s face, since I’m still packing.
Tears are waving down my face, but I don’t make a sound. If only the world knows that I had a few moments of love, but they were taken away with the person, to another girl. “I’ll let you finish up fast so you could sleep. (He kisses the side of my head) Goodnight.” I nod again since I find it hard to speak while crying.
Once he leaves I breathe out with a voice, an exhale tone if I may say. I wish that these outfits would turn into dust, I wish everything and everyone I hate turns to dust; leaving the people I love alive. The world will be so better without all the negativity. But then again, the balance of good and evil will be broken, and it may cause endless chaos.
I zip my bag, once I finish placing my clothes in; then jump to the mattress so I could lie down. I’ve slept all my life on a bed with no one beside me, and I never seemed to care that much. But now, everything is different. Now, all I want is to see Zayn sleeping peacefully beside me, and being the only reason that I wake up each day for.
