Gone
Eighty-Nine
I was a little bit surprised when the Prom Night menu screen came onto the TV. A horror movie? I had no idea that guys like him were into or even watched movies like that one. I found it quite amusing. Personally, I'd seen this movie before and it wasn't bad. Horror was my favourite genre though.
Why? Well I'm not sure why, there was just something about it really. Maybe it was the gruesome gore; or the frustration you get when the screaming girl doesn't make a fucking run for it; or the squelch as the blade of the knife cuts deeper into the skin of the victim. I mean, really, what wasn't there to like?
"If you don't want to watch it we can change it to something else," I was busy staring off into space, just thinking everything over, "Babe? Is everything alright?"
Well, if I was being completely honest then I had just lied. If he found out what I'd done, my first ever serious relationship, hell, my first ever relationship, would be over before I could say 'he kissed me'.
So no, everything definitely wasn't alright and it wouldn't be until I found a way to make all this go away. Of course, I wasn't going to say any of that though.
"Mhmm,"
He frowned, creating wrinkles in his forehead.
"Well, okay then. You'd tell me if you weren't, wouldn't you?"
I just nodded.
Unfortunately, secrets had a habit of rising to the surface, metaphorically speaking. It would be just a matter of time before mine became public and I had a hunch about who would be the first to speak up. I hadn't had the chance to call him yet, to ask him what he wanted.
It sparked an idea. I probably shouldn't have done it right there and then and even less with his phone, but I had almost no battery left. Not only that but I was desperate to stop feeling so uncomfortable about everything, so guilty. I knew it was going to come out of his mouth sooner or later but I hated not knowing when. Honestly, it was killing me from the inside out.
"Can I...uh...use your phone please?"
He smiled sweetly, letting go of my hand.
"Absolutely, hun, it's on the kitchen bench," he pointed behind him.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that it was his home phone. At least Josh wouldn't know was calling and hopefully Niall wouldn't know who I called.
