New beginnings
Chapter Eleven
“Christ, it’s cold.” I complain. Louis gives me a look.
“Don’t swear.” He scolds me.
“Why not?” I cock my eyebrow.
“It’s impolite.” He replies.
“You guys swear all the time!” I protest. It’s true. One time Louis stubbed his toe on the kitchen table and spilled his coke.
You should have heard the string of profanities that came out of his mouth.
I sigh and roll my eyes, opening the car door and pulling myself inside.
The ride to the restaurant is mostly loud. The boys talk about football and food and Niall complains about how hungry he is.
When we finally get to the restaurant, I’m starving. I haven’t really eaten much all day.
I take a deep breath and run my hand through my hair. I know that there’s going to be paps here. Somehow, they all know the location of the boys. All the time. It’s creepy if you ask me.
“Ready?” Zayn asks. I nod, biting my lip slightly. I really hate the bright white flashes that hurt my eyes and make it hard to see where I’m going.
He opens the door, and we file out. Niall is last, and he closes the door behind him.
I sigh as the cameras start going off. The security guard that accompanies us everywhere went first, making a path for us to follow. My eyes are burning from the light, and I don’t think I can walk any more.
Louis is directly behind me, and he sees me stumbling. He picks me up and carries me the rest of the way.
The paparazzi shout questions, mostly about the twitcam and how I was doing. As we open the door to the restaurant, one of them shouts a question.
“Louis, why would you adopt such an ugly bitch?”
I think it was one of the fans, actually. Louis hands me to Harry and turns around slowly, making eye contact with the person.
“What did you just say?” he asks, in a scary, menacing tone.
The fan stuttered. “N-nothing, Louis.”
“That’s what I thought.” He answered, turning on his heel and walking into the restaurant.

“So Vi,” Perrie begins. “How’s Zayn treating you?”
“Oh, he’s just awful.” I giggle.
Perrie gives Zayn a mock-disappointed face and Zayn does puppy dog eyes.
Perrie is really nice. So is Sophia. They asked a lot of questions, but none went over the line.
I smile and twirl my fork, collecting spaghetti onto it. We mostly make small talk as we walk back to the car. This time, we went out a back entrance, so there are no paps.
The driver, Jim, had taken the car around back. We all piled in.
First, we dropped Perrie and Soph off. Then, we made our way back our house.
My house. I’m still not used to saying that. I miss everyone, but I’m also glad that I’ve been adopted. Maybe I can visit the orphanage soon.
We pull into the driveway and close the gate, sealing the outside world off. I’m glad to be away from all prying eyes. Especially the paparazzi. They’re so rude!
I’m absolutely exhausted after everything. The spontaneous footie match, the twitcam, and dinner. It’s been a really long day.
I change into my flannel pjs and crawl into bed. Soon enough, the dark overtakes me.
