"Fuck."
The clumsy person I am, I tripped over my own feet, but quickly stood up. Zayn started laughing when I played it cool like nothing happened, Niall however, kept walking without saying a word.
"That's my response to everything in life."Zayn said, his laughter getting louder. I shook my head and laughed along with him. I was expecting Niall to laugh along with us, but he didn't, he kept his head down low and took large steps forwards without letting out a noise.
"What's up with him?"I nudged Zayn in the shoulder after our laughter ceased a little and nodded towards Niall.
I tightened my grip around the straps of my backpack that clinged to my back like a heavy magnet that pulled me down and groaned. When packing a bag for a vacation or a road trip, everything becomes useful and important all of a sudden.
"He's on his period."Zayn rolled his eyes and straightened his posture.
"His penis is bleeding."He snickered, his voice laced with annoyance.
"Zayn!"I snapped in a harsh tone."That was rude!"Rolling my eyes, I decided to drop the subject.
If Niall wanted to talk he would've talked to me already.
He's probably not in the mood of dealing with idiots like me and Zayn at the moment, and I can't blame him. A small part of me wanted to go and ask him what's wrong, but I decided against it, because right now I'm moody myself and it wouldn't be the best idea to put up with other's bad mood.
We've been walking for atleast three hours, and my feet started to burn, my back started to ache and sweat gathered on my forehead. I don't even want to know how I look like, I bet my hair is fuzzy and my clothes are muddy from all the falls I had to witness in the past few hours. I don't even see the point in walking, when we can use vampire speed.
"Why can't we use your supernatural speed? We would've been there already!"I groaned tiredly, before sliding the back bag off of my aching shoulder.
"I'm taking a break."I muttered before the boys could say anything.
I crossed my legs in indian style and looked up at Zayn who stared down at me in amusement. Niall stopped walking too, and locked eyes with me.
He wasn't frowning nor smiling, he had a blank stare causing the feeling that something was wrong cross my mind again. I hate it when something is bothering Niall, it makes me feel like I did something wrong even though I probably have nothing to do with his issue.
"We can take a break."Niall said in a bold, intimidating tone."Then we're going to find the highway and use the speed."He said without looking at us.
Niall threw his back bag on the ground next to a tree, and sat down on the slightly snow-covered ground, leaning his back on the tree trunk. I looked around for Zayn to find him passed out by a tree trunk a few feet away. I sighed and took another glance at Niall who had his arms slumped lazily on his knees, his gaze focused on the ground making him look deep in thought.
"Psst,"I hissed at Niall."Hey, Niall!"I whispered, trying to catch Niall's attention without waking Zayn up.
Poor Zayn, he must've been really exhausted to instantly pass out like that.
"S.hitface."I hissed in annoyance when he ignored me.
"Niall!"I rolled my eyes in his direction and gave up.
Hell, no way I'm crawling over to him, I'm too tired.
But then I kind of felt bad, because Niall was always there when I needed him. He helped me, comforted me, asked about me, held me, healed me, gave me advice, and now he's keeping me under his wing until my life hopefully gets back to how it used to be.
So I did an effort, and picked a small branch and threw it at him, causing it to hit his shoulder. He turned his head to glare at me with his glowing golden eyes. Atleast I caught his attention.
I flashed him a wide smile, but he just shook his head, signalling that he's not in the mood for my stupid games and turned away. I sighed, failing to find an easier way to grab his attention than walking over to him. I'm lazy and proud.
I got up and walked over to where he sat and made myself comfortable on his left.
"What's up?"I nudged him in the ribs with my right elbow.
"C'mon Niall, don't give me that frown!"I pouted, in a childish manner, hoping that it might lighten up the mood. Niall groaned and leaned his head on the trunk of the tree, closing his eyes.
"What happened?"I asked in a calmer tone, leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Harry happened."He snickered.
"What did he tell you?"I asked.
"He sent Zayn to spy on us."He said in a disgusted tone. He picked the branch I threw at him and started digging and scratching the ground with it.
"What?" I let out a short laugh."He doesn't trust you?"
"He thinks that I'll take this as a chance to make a move on you."Niall explained without taking his eyes off the branch.
"He's such a child. I mean, he just broke up with me for God's sake and now he's worrying that a guy might make a move on me? What the hell!"I raised my voice in rage and fisted my palms.
"He's in love with you."Niall said blankly.
"Bullshit!"I shouted and glared at him. I got up and brushed away the dirt that might've stuck to my jeans. I'm sick of listening to bullshit such as that.
"Whatever."Niall muttered leaning his head on the trunk of the tree.
"I'm going to look around and explore a little."I mumbled before getting up.
"Don't."said Niall causing me to look down at him with a raised eyebrow.
"What?"I asked, frowning in confusion.
"It's dangerous."
"Pfft."I rolled my eyes."The big bad wolf is coming to get me."I said sarcastically, waving my hands around.
I looked at Niall and he was glaring at me with his golden, intimidating eyes and bared canines. Shit, I forgot he's a werewolf. My bad.
"Okay. Go ahead."Niall said with a sarcastic smile."Explore."He forced the word in a mocking way.
