Sage’s POV

“So, who’s rooming with who?” Louis asked holding the room keys like a fan.

“We can room together, boo.” Liam slung his arm around Louis’s shoulder.

“You and me?” Zayn asked Niall while Louis and Liam laughed about something.

“Movie night!” Niall cheered.

“Of course.” Zayn said it like Niall should’ve known.

“That leaves us.” Harry grabbed a key from Louis’s hand and looked at me. “Do you need help?”

I shook my head and followed him to our room. It’s going to be a long night. He held the door open for me with his foot and let go when I was inside. I was thankful to see there were two beds.

“This ones mine.” I mumbled setting my stuff on the half covered bed.

“I don’t even care.” He sighed lying down on his bed. “It’s so much more comfortable than any other bed I’ve slept in.”

“I wouldn’t know, mine’s covered with stuff.” I pointed at my bed that had his bags sitting on it. “So, I’m taking yours.”

“Like I said, I don’t care.” He rolled his eyes as I laid down next to him.

“Oh my…” The bed felt like a cloud.

“I know.” He laughed as someone knocked on the door. “I’m not getting it, I’m too comfortable.”

“You suck.” I grumbled walking to the door.

I opened it to see Louis standing with his hands in his pockets and Zayn resting his chin on his shoulder from behind. They both smiled at me with pleading eyes.

“What?” I asked knowing they wanted something.

“How are you?” Louis asked as Niall walked over.

“What do you want Louis?” I asked with attitude and leaned against the doorframe.

“Why would we want something?” It was blatantly obvious.

“We wanna go out and have fun tonight and need a designated driver.” Niall blurted it out. “Will you be ours?”

“We’re going out?” Harry asked excitedly from behind me.

“If she says yes.” All the boys were giving me puppy dog eyes.

“Fine.” I sighed in defeat.

“Yay!” They were cheering and high-fiving.

“I need to change.” I turned around and walked to my room.

“Thanks Sage.” Zayn called out before I went into the bathroom.

“We love you!” Louis cooed.

I laughed to myself and opened my bag and heard Harry shooing the guys away. He hummed to himself while he got ready.


I looked up from my soda and saw Zayn sitting with his arm around a pretty brunette girl named Arianna; they’d been flirting and talking since we sat down. Louis and Niall were playing beer pong with guys who were obviously frat boys. Without meaning to, we’d entered a college party but nobody seemed to care. Harry was in the booth next to us with a group of girls that were swooning over his curls and he loved it.

“Why’re you all alone, gorgeous?” A sweet voice asked.

“Excuse me?” I turned around with attitude that faded when I saw that it was just Liam. “Hey handsome.”

“What’s up? Why are you sitting here and not hanging out?” He sat down next to me.

“Harry’s with those girls, Zayn’s with that girl, Niall and Louis are busy and you were gone and I’m not allowed to drink so I was just waiting for someone to come back.” The real reason I was alone was because I didn’t feel like getting beer spilled on and not be able to drink it.

“Oh. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened between you and Zayn?” He was shy when it came to asking personal questions.

“I felt overwhelmed with everything so I ended things between us.” I shrugged looking across the table at Zayn who was now kissing Arianna. “He seems to be okay with it.”

“That’s kind of a dick move.” Liam looked upset.

“No, it’s okay. We broke up so he can do whatever, or whoever, he wants. If I were drunk, I probably would be doing the same thing he’s doing.” I looked around and saw Harry cheering Niall and Louis on.

“Probably him huh?” Liam blurted out.

“Yea, maybe.” I blushed.

“Oh.” I couldn’t tell if he was drunk or something was bugging him but I wish I knew. “Go have fun, if you want to drink you can because I’m not.” I guess he wasn’t drunk.

“Okay, thanks Lili.” I smiled as his lips pressed against my cheek.

I took his advice and stopped caring for the night. While I was walking around, Niall came up behind me and hugged my waist, he kissed my cheek lightly and let his hands rest on my hips.

“Having fun?” I asked as he played with my belt loops.

“Maybe.” He laughed turning me around. “Are you okay after everything?”

“Yea, I’m okay.” I shrugged getting a ‘don’t even try to lie to me’ look from him. “Okay, no I’m not okay. I don’t really like seeing Zayn kiss that other girl after we just broke up, I want to be in the hotel or drunk and kissing someone or somewhere quieter so we could all hang out.” I let it slip that I actually cared what Zayn was doing.

“I’m sorry Sage, I wish things didn’t happen like that and that he cared enough to not do that shit in front of you but I cant fix what he’s doing. And the drunk and kissing someone part, Harry’s drunk enough for both of you and we all know he’s willing to kiss you at anytime of the day.” He laughed gripping my hips. “Plus, there’s always me.” He made a kissy face.

“You’re too cute,” I giggled kissing his cheek, “But I’ve already been with two of my best friends, I’m not going to add you to that list.”

“Aww, so you’re saying if I wasn’t one of your best friends you would kiss me?” He seemed really happy about that.

“Yea” I laughed grabbing his neck. “Of course I would.”

“Harry’s right, you are a tease.” He frowned hugging me.

“Well, this is awkward.” Louis interrupted our hug with a concerned look.

“We were just kidding Lou.” Niall let go of me and looked into Louis’s. “I mean, she would never really get with me.”

“Well, of course not. She’s into me.” Louis smiled grabbing my waist.

“Nope, she’s into me even though I have a girlfriend.” Liam kissed my cheek from behind.

“You guys are so weird.” I shivered out of their arms and backed into Harry on accident.

“Guys, isn't it obvious? She likes me.” Harry was so cocky. “Look at us, we’d have the cutest babies ever.”

“Oh my gosh, let go of me you freak.” I laughed wiggling away from him.

They all laughed it off and walked away besides Harry who wouldn’t let go of my hand no matter how much I tried. He pulled me closer to him and hummed into my ear.

“I wasn’t lying, our babies would be adorable.” He whispered.

“Yea, because they’d be imaginary.” I laughed pushing his chest.

“You’ll see that I’m right.” He let go of my wrist, finally.

“How?” I asked confusedly.

“We’re going to have babies someday.” He was completely serious.

“Whatever.” I shrugged hearing yelling.

“-such a douche!” I looked over and saw Niall and Zayn in each other’s face.

“This isn't any of your business, back off.” Zayn shoved Niall, hard.

“She is my business.” Niall snarled stepping up to him again as Harry and I walked over to them.

“What happened?” I asked Liam.

“Niall’s calling him out about you.” He answered like it was normal.

“Why?” I was so confused.

“Because Zayn’s being an insensitive jerk.” He shrugged not looking at me.

“Did you even care about her?” Niall asked through gritted teeth.

“Yes.” Zayn snapped back.

“Be honest.” Louis blurted out as a crowd was forming around them.

“Fine, no I didn’t. She was just another girl I could slee-“ Niall cut him off with a punch to the face.

“Stop it!” I yelled stepping between them with tears in my eyes.

I pushed Niall’s chest as he wound up to hit him again. Zayn was pissed; his eye was already swelling but he was ready to go. I turned around and shoved Zayn back from hitting Niall because I had no strength compared to a drunk and angry Niall.

“You’re a jackass.” Niall snarled.

“Niall, shut up.” I snapped at him as Zayn realized that I was crying.

“I’m so sorry, you know I care.” He pleaded with me.

“No, just stop. I don’t care.” I wiped my cheeks.

“But…” He sounded like he was going to cry.

“You deserved it Zayn, just be happy I’m not letting him kick your ass.” I pushed him again and walked away to the table.
