Love & Betrayal

American Top 40

To say everything between Harry and I was okay, would be a lie. We were straining to maintain a normal relationship.

When we woke up from the nap after our fight we sat down and had a civilized conversation. I agreed to go see someone for help and he agreed to not be a complete twat about who my friends were. I was going to be careful but I wasn't going to cut out two really good friends.

I was currently cooking us some dinner seeing that we were living together in the city now that the tour was over. Harry was at an interview and photo shoot for some magazine. The magazine was shooting the guys separately because they really wanted the story then they'd piece it together to go into print. Whatever I didn't get it anyways.

Before Harry left we actually had our first semi normal day since the fight a couple days ago. We laid in bed all morning talking and laughing about anything and everything. He had made us breakfast then we went to the grocery store to stock up for his time off. If I thought Niall ate a lot, I was in for a shock with all the crap Harry bought.

I decided to attempt making dinner for us. I was whipping up some grilled chicken and vegetables. Simple, but it was the thought that counted right?

I had the music blasting through the kitchen so I didn’t even know Harry was home until a felt his arms around my waist.

“Beautiful, smart, funny and she cooks? I may just drop to one knee right now.” He whispered into my ear, placing a few quick kisses right below my ear.

“Just because I’m cooking doesn’t mean it’s going to be any good.” I shrugged, stirring the carrots on the stove. “It’s so basic.”

“Babe I could care less if you nuked it.”

“Nuked it?” I laughed, glancing at him. He was still standing behind, arms around me. He had his chin rested on my shoulder. I really don’t even understand how I get mad at this kid. He’s so cute.

“Like microwave it, you know a fast meal.” He said.

“Well you better get used to that because that’s generally all I do. I figured cooking dinner was the least I could do after we went on that huge grocery trip.”

“I did go overboard. I apologize.”

“Get off, I gotta check the chicken.” I shrugged him off of me, heading for the patio door.

“Where are you going?”

“I grilled the chicken.” I said as if he was asking a dumb question.

“When did we get a grill?” he followed me onto the porch.

“I got it while you were on tour. I like making things on it and it fits out here so why not.” I shrugged.

“Babe, this looks expensive. You should have told me, you could have used my card.”

“How am I going to use your card when we’re on different continents? Silly boy.” I slapped his chest playfully.

“Could have ordered it online or something, I don’t know. I feel bad you paid for this all on your own.”

“Harry, I have money.” I rolled my eyes.

“Yes, but I’m the man in the relationship I should help provide.”

“You pay rent every month for both apartments, I think you’re doing enough as a ‘provider’.” I mocked him.

He stuck his tongue out. “I’m just glad we’re able to do all of this.”

“Me too babe.” I smiled as I removed the chicken from the grill onto a large plate. “It appears dinner is ready.”

“I’ll go set the table! Look at us! Our first meal in new house, we’ve only had this place for months.” He laughed.

I watched as he ran into the apartment ahead of me. I rolled my eyes at his excitement. He was right though, this would be our first actual cooked meal as a couple in this new home. Home. I smiled every time I caught myself calling it that. It was still rough between us but something about today was good.

“Did I do it right?” Harry asked as I brought some of the food to the kitchen table.

“It looks fine, calm down.” I set the plate I was carrying down taking in his work. “Let me go get the rest.”

“I’ll help.” He smiled.

We finished carrying in the rest of the food together. We finally sat down to eat and I couldn’t help but smile back at Harrys huge grin.

“What’s going on crazy?” I laughed.

“Well first of all this chicken is so good.” He said shoveling another bite into his mouth. “Second of all, I got some good news.”

“And what is that?”

“Gary from management called today. They got a call from the producers of American Top 40 and they want an interview.”

“That’s so great. Haven’t you been on there before?” I asked.

“Yes but you see the thing is…” he paused. “They want us to come do the interview.”

“What?” I put my fork down.

“Yeah! They want you and me both or no interview at all.” he smiled.

“I don’t know about that Harry. You’re management can’t decide what I do or not.”

“They didn’t. They always ask us first before they book anything.”

“Harry, I don’t know.”

“Spencer it would be a great thing for us to do! We could go on a clear all the dodgy air around us! We could set everyone straight. Oh! And you could talk about your work, being a designer all of that good stuff!”

“Harry.” I looked at him, why did he want to do this so badly? “Why?”

“Okay, I won’t lie. I wasn’t exactly on board with the idea either. Management is sort of pushing for us to go on because of everything that has happened in the last few months. They want us to go on and tell our side of the story as a couple, not he say she say or tabloids. Also, they are a little worried our fans are starting to hate on you and they don’t want that.”

“When is it?”

“He didn’t say an exact date, just next week.” Harry looked at me hopefully.

“Isn’t that in LA or something not here?” I rolled my eyes. I couldn’t take any more time off.

“Yes, we’d only be gone 2 days max. I promise!”

Harry was practically begging me. I had never seen him want something as much as he wanted me to come with him. Like he said, without me there was no interview. I don’t even see why anyone would want to interview me. I’m just an average person.

“Fine. Call management and say we’ll go. I’ll have to work extra the rest of the week so I can finish this stupid suit.”

“Are you almost done with it?” Harry asked curiously.

“Yes, it’s a lot more work than you think. I just have to finish the pants up. Everything else is done.”

“I’ll find something to do or someone to hang out with while you work overtime.” He smiled across the table at me. “Now finish eating I have something I want to show you.”

“Oh really?” I asked surprised. “What is it?”

“It’s a surprise. I have it in the bedroom so once you finish your plate we can go see.”

“I’m done enough.” I shrugged. “I’ll clean up after.”

“Oh you’ll need to clean up after.” He winked, strutting down the hallway.

“Harold Styles. Is your surprise….you?” I laughed.

“Yessssssssssssss. Now come get me.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. He was literally the most adorable guy I’ve ever met. I followed him into our room where he was already kicking his shoes off. He pulled me down on top of him onto the bed.

“You know we haven’t done it in forever.”

“We did it in New Zealand.” I laughed in between kisses.

“Like two weeks ago. Spencer love, I’ve been on tour for bloody months. I got sex here and there when you came. Now that I’m here and you’re here…in the same place…we’re going to do it all the fucking time.”

“Whatever you say dear.” I rolled my eyes.

“I want to be inside you more hours of the day then not. Sex all the time, every morning before work, every day when you come home from work, every day when we’re done eating, every day when we go to bed, we’re doing it 4 times minimum every day.”

“Harry shut up and fuck me?” I laughed at his rambling.

“With pleasure.” He smirked before assaulting my body with his.

LOS ANGELES

(Harry POV)

Today was it. We were going on the radio to clear up whatever questions Ryan Seacrest could throw at us. Spencer had talked to work and was allowed to talk about her work on air, which I couldn’t have been more excited about. She was a fantastic designer and I wanted her to excel. But at the same time I also wanted everyone to know that we were still going strong. We hadn’t been seen out together since her night out with Zac. Rumors and speculations were all over the tabloids. I was growing tired of it as was Spencer. I know I sort of pushed her into coming, because management pushed me into coming, but we needed to do this. Just like any other interviews some things were off limits, such as anything about the rumors dealing with Spencer’s drug problems. She still hadn’t gone to see anyone about her problem but she agreed to go when we got back from our two day trip. We had to make it quick because she needed to do a final fitting for Zac before he needed his suit for the weekend.

I hadn’t told her yet but I was planning on taking her on an extended holiday. She needed a break from the real world more than anyone. When we started dating I never thought it would be this hard. I suppose that every girl that I have dated since becoming famous has also been famous. I never stopped to think about what this would be like for the average person. It was hard for me to adjust too, hell most days I wasn’t adjusted yet, so I could only imagine the pressure on her. The pressure definitely grew since she had landed Zac Efron as a client as well. It wasn’t that I was mad at her for befriending him and going out places together, I was mad at him for thinking he had a chance. That anger generally came out on Spencer when it needed to be unleashed on him.
I was pulled from my daydream as we pulled up to the venue. There were screaming fan girls everywhere. I really hated that they advertised who was going to be on the show what day, but I knew it’s how they got listeners.

“Are you sure about this?” Spencer asked me for the millionth time today and it was only 9 am.

“Just breathe Spencer. You’ll be fine.” I squeezed her hand.

“That’s a lot of people.” She looked out the window.

“Spencer, you’ve been to a premiere. I think you’ll be okay.” I laughed at her.

“Yes, but those people were there for more than just you.”

“You mean us.” I corrected her.

“Us, you, whatever.”

“Relax baby. You’re going to be fine.”

“What if someone asks me about the drug rumor?” she looked at me.

“It’s on the ‘do not talk about’ list.” I reassured her.

“Okay.”

Management had set-up a car and security service for our short stay here. They didn’t want us fending for ourselves. The driver half turn around, gaining our attention.

“With all these people here, we’re going to drop you off in the back at a service entrance. Not very glamorous but it’s safer.”

“No that’s fine.” Spencer said quickly. “I’d prefer that honestly.”

The driver nodded, spinning back around and continued to drive. We entered the gates that led to the back of the building before stopping in front of a garage. The fans and paparazzi could still see us, but they couldn’t reach us. They were easily 300 feet away, closed off by the gates. I hopped out of the car first when our security guard opened it. I helped Spencer out of the car, noticing the worried look on her face.

“Do I look okay?” she fretted.

“You always look okay. More than okay really, stop freaking out.” I grabbed her hand tight.

“So right now we’re going to go right in, but after if you’d like to come out and sign stuff and meet some fans that’s perfectly fine.” The security guy, Dan, said.

“That’s great.” I smiled.

I always loved meeting the fans and doing what I could for them. We followed Dan through the underbellies of the building eventually getting on the lift. We made our way to the 7th floor before exiting the lift and headed into a large waiting room.

We sat for a few minutes before a younger blonde lady came into the room.

“He’s all set and ready for you guys.” She smiled. We followed her into the studio.

“Hey guys, glad you could make it.” Ryan Seacrest said, standing to shake my hand.

“Hey man, thanks for having us. This is Spencer.” I smiled, introducing her.

“Hi, it’s great to meet you.” she smiled, shaking his hand as well.

“Pleasures all mine.” He smiled. “So have a seat, grab a pair of headphones. We’re going to go on with you guys in about 2 minutes after this song finishes up. Do you need anything before we start? Water or something?”

“No man, I think we’re okay.” I smiled, Spencer looked more nervous than before, if it was even possible. I grabbed her hand giving it a reassuring squeeze.

“Nervous?” Ryan asked.

“Yeah, a bit.” She laughed.

“Well nothing to worry about here, I’m just gonna ask some general questions everyone wants to know about, you know the rumors surrounding you two, and I know what to stay away from. It’s harmless I promise. I never get to personal.”

“I’m holding you to it.” She giggled.

He smiled as he got ready to bring us on. “Just let me do some bullshitting and then I’ll introduce you and we’ll go from there.”

“Sounds good man.” I nodded.

I watched Spencer as Ryan began his spiel once the song ended. We were on the air.

“That was OneRepublic’s Counting Stars still on the charts at number 28. We had Ryan Tedder on the show last week if you missed that interview with him head over to the website and check it out. He’s a great guy, super funny. Go watch it. Now when he was here I don’t think we had nearly as many screaming girls outside the studio. In fact, last time this many girls were outside the building was when One Direction was here which can only mean one thing. Someone from One Direction is here again. Harry Styles, how do you make these girls so crazy?” he laughed looking at me.

“You know I really ask myself that every day.” I joked.

“How’d you even get through all those girls? There is not a hair out of place on your head. You were here with the band and got completely swarmed. I was surprised to see you come in so poised and relaxed.” Ryan said.

“Yeah, I think we wised up a bit, I wasn’t going to get drug down to the ground like Zayn last time. We took the back way in. It was much safer.” I laughed, remembering the last time we were here.

“You just finished up a tour, right? How was it?” Ryan asked.

“Yeah, we finished about a week ago. I have to say it could have been our best tour yet. It was really amazing, we got to stop in places we’ve never been before.” I smiled.

“The band is having some down time now I’m assuming or are you guys ready to jump into something else?”

“No not right away. We’ve got a few months to unwind and relax.”

“What are the other guys up to? Better yet how are you going to spend your down time?”

“The guys are really just hanging out, seeing family and friends we’ve been away from for a while now. I’m just spending some time in New York right now, hanging out enjoying the simples things.” I smiled over at Spencer.

“And instead of the band this time around, you’ve brought your lovely girlfriend, Spencer McMichael, who is gorgeous I must say. Congrats on that." He joked. "We’re so glad to have both of you here today.”

“She is isn't she?" I said, making her blush. "Thanks for having both of us. We’re excited to be here.” I smiled over at Spencer.

“So let’s get down to it.” Ryan looked between the two of us. “You guys pop up on our radar out of the middle of nowhere a couple months ago. How long have you actually been together?”

“We’ve been dating for about 9 months now.” I smile.

“How’d you keep it so low key for the first, I don’t know I’ll say 6-ish months?”

“We were both living in NYC when we met so it was pretty easy to sneak around and hang out in super low key places. No one knew where she lived so we spent a lot of time over there.” I mentioned.

“Yeah, I think it helped a lot that no one knew who I was too.” Spencer joined in.

“That’s right, what’s it like to be suddenly famous?” Ryan looked at me.
“It’s a little overwhelming at points but it’s something I’m slowly getting used to.” She smiled.

“It seems like you’ve been making a name for yourself though. You currently are head of design for designer Igor Boris, in his New York City office, is that right?”

“Yeah, I absolutely love working with Mr. Boris, he’s so fascinating.” She smiled.

“More recently though, it’s been getting you into some trouble. You’ve been seen hanging around a lot with Zac Efron. Some say it’s business, most say it’s pleasure. What’s been going on? We wanna know your side of this situation.”

“Those who say business would be right. I’m currently making him his suit for his upcoming movie premiere.”

“So would it be safe to say it started out business and has turned into pleasure? You and Zac have been seen out getting drunk at bars together and yelling at paparazzi, that’s not much business now, is it?”

She looked over at me before answering. “We’ve slowly been becoming friends, I guess you could say.”

“Now I know you guys listening can’t see us, but Harry and Spencer just shared a look before she answered. Harry what’s your take on the whole situation?”

“I mean she’s friends with him, I don’t really think much of it. We both are mature enough to have other friends. I never really get why people dig so deep into nothing.” I said.

“So the relationship is happy?”

“Oh we’re very happy yes.” I smiled.

“Yeah I’d have to say this is the happiest I’ve ever been.” Spencer smiled back at me.

It was so nice that we could be on this show and put all the rumors to bed yet no one knew how big of a fight we just had a couple nights ago.

“Sorry to say this ladies, but Harry Styles looks crazy in love.” Ryan joked. “So what is this now, 3 of the 5 of you are off the market?”

“Yeah, this makes 3 of us.”

“These poor girls chances are just dwindling down slowly and surely. We’ve been trying to get down to the bottom of this so let’s see if you can help us out. Is Liam engaged?” Ryan tried. I knew that was one of the things that I was forbidden to answer because they haven’t even come out and said they were yet. I quickly shrugged it off.

“You’ll have to ask him man, I have no idea.”

“Are you sure? There’s pictures of you guys all on a beach in New Zealand and it looks like he’s proposing.” He tried again.

“We were all just having a laugh on the beach, it was a down day.”

“Alright, fair enough.” Ryan laughed. “Now Spencer, before you guys go you have to tell us something we don’t about your beau.”

“Ummm….” Spencer looked at me before giggling. “Where do I start?”

“Spencer!” I said, faking offense.

“He’s completely rubbish at picking up after himself. He leaves everything, everywhere.”

“You’d know about that now, huh? You guys were seen out buying a place in London a little while back.”

“Yeah, we did. I wish I would have known that before agreeing to move in with him.” She laughed.

“I’m not as bad as she makes me seem.” I tried to defend myself but it was a lost cause.

“I don’t know man, she seems pretty fired up. You better start picking up after yourself of you’ll be sleeping on the couch.” Seacrest laughed.

“I know, you gotta watch out for this one.” I laughed along with him, squeezing Spencers hand as she laughed with us.

“Being from different countries, how’s it work? Does he ever say something to you and you just look at him like ‘what the hell is this guy saying to me?’ I’m sure it could go both ways.”

“When we gets really excited or angry and goes off on a rant I can’t understand his accent. It’s really cute but it also really sucks since I need to know what he’s saying.” Spencer laughed. “But he has some sayings he’ll throw out there and I’m like okay fish and chips, explain that one.”

“I think my words and sayings are cool.” I stated.

“Of course you do babe.” Spencer smiled, finally warmed up.

“I have to say you guys look more put together as a couple at 20 then most people who have been married for years do. You feed off of each other so well.” Ryan said.

“I think that’s what got us this far.” Spencer joked. “And maybe not having to deal with each other every day thanks to the tour.”

“She doesn’t mean that. She went batty without me around for months.” I joked back.

“I just let him tell himself things like that so he sleeps well at night.” She laughed.

“You guys are something else.” Ryan butted in. “Harry, you’ve been seen getting a ton of new ink on this tour. What skin do you have left to tattoo?”

“I still got a ton of room.” I laughed. “But no, I did get a few new ones in random places this tour. It was really spur of the moment. Usually Louis or Zayn would be like ‘Hey lads, saw this parlor on the way in, looked cool. Trying to go with me?’ and of course I’m addicted to getting tattoos so I would always go.” I laughed.

“How many did you get on this tour alone?”

“I think 7 or 8. I kept adding to the one each time but it’s really just a rush to have something new on your body. I love it.”

“Do you regret any of them?” Ryan asked.

“I wouldn’t say I regret it but somehow Niall and I were in a bet and I lost so I do have the Irish flag tattooed on me somewhere.” I laughed, Spencer saw that tattoo for the first time the other night when we had sex. She laughed so hard we had to stop and regain ourselves. It was super small and super low closer to my groin area.

“Will we ever get the honor of seeing this flag?”

“I don’t think so.” I laughed.

“I surely hope you don’t.” Spencer added.

“So you know where it is?”

“Of course!” she said as if it was a dumb question. “I’ll be pretty mad if anyone else ever gets to see it.”

“So you only can see it when he’s naked?” Ryan asked, causing Spencers face to turn into a beat red blush. “If you could see the blush on this poor girls face, you’d know the answer to that is yes.”

“Oh my god!” Spencer couldn’t stop laughing.

“I think we’re going to leave you listeners with that, the image of Harry Styles naked.” Ryan laughed. “I want to give a huge thanks to both of you for flying out and taking a few minutes out of your busy lives to sit down and chat with us.”

“Thank you so much for having us on today.” I smiled.

“It was great, thanks.” Spencer added.

“Coincidently enough, here is One Direction at number 27 on the countdown with You & I.” Ryan signed off, motioning it was okay for us to take off our headphones. “Thanks for coming in, it was really great. It’s not every day you get to talk to a couple at the same time. You guys seem happy and great so forget those tabloids. And sorry about the whole Liam thing, I had to ask.”

“No worries man.”

“If it’s true tell him to put a statement out, it would be great.” Ryan smiled.

“If it’s true.” I shrugged.

“Alright man, see you soon.” He shook my hand followed by Spencer. “And it was lovely meeting you. Keep in touch, both of you.”

I nodded as we exited the room. I wrapped my arm around Spencers shoulder as Dan led us back to the lift. Once we were in it alone with Dan, I placed a quick yet necessary kiss on Spencers lips.

“I love you babe. You did great.”

“Thanks, I was worried I would be awkward and the world would think you’re dating a dud.”

“I’m surely not dating a dud. I’m surely dating the hottest girl in the entire world.”

“What about your dream girl Emilia Clarke?” she joked.

“Oh she’s hot, but you…damn am I lucky.” I smiled, kissing her again.

“Shut up.” She rolled her eyes.

“Ready to go meet some of the fans outside?” I smiled as the lift doors dinged open.

“Yes.” Spencer smiled confidently.

“Alright you lot have about 15 minutes to mingle, I’ll come find you whenever times up. I’ll stay close by just in case.” Dan said. I liked him, he wasn’t Jack but he’d do for events Jack couldn’t make it too.

“Thanks man.” I smiled.

Spencer and I walked hand in hand over the gates separating the fans from us. The girls were screaming, some even crying. I meant what I said about not understanding why these girls go nuts over me. I’m just a bloke from England, living the dream. As I signed random things and took random selfies, I glanced over at Spencer. She was smiling and laughing with a group of fans like she was the celebrity. I truly forgot about anything else in that moment. Our problems didn’t seem to exist, all that I cared about was being with her. I walked over to her smiling big. I picked her up, swinging her around in a huge circle. I placed a chaste kiss on her lips as I set her down. We received a huge collective ‘awwwww’ from the group of fans. She was my girl no matter what kind of shit she got herself into. Nothing was going to change that.

I love this story but spencer is a terrible person she's basically cheated on Harry three times, lies about her drug use and hangs out with people she knows he doesn't like and basically can't trust herself with other guys when he isn't around! Yet she blames him for being jealous and overprotective she's a slut tbh
