In less then eight hours, the engagement knot will be tied around my neck; strangling me with suffer till the end of my life. Today is the day I say goodbye to living freely, goodbye to the days I mocked society from arranged engagements and marriages, and finally goodbye to the person that made me see a new angle of the world, without a private jet… Harry. My dad personally called Philip’s mother, Bianca, to assist me in my presentation outcome for tonight. I didn’t bother to choose anything as for hairstyle, makeup, nor clothing.

I made sure to agree to whatever she decided on my behalf. Even though the middle- aged lady was a little confused, since I didn’t share my own opinion. Why should I anyway? My fiancé is chosen for me, my father controls my life; so making my choice in how I look tonight doesn’t undergo satisfactory independency.

“Look at you! Would you at least smile? I feel like my work is bad or something, Hehe.”Estelle, my trustworthy hair and makeup professional, tries to draw a smile on my face; I simply can't. Since that day, I don’t talk that much, I don’t eat that much, and I don’t even care what is going on in the world. All what I do is stare at the pool from my balcony, making sure to catch a glance of his shadow. This is pure torture for the both of us, but at least his mom won’t suffer from poverty, and neither would he. I promised myself to maintain their financial lives no matter what must I do, and I tend to keep it by sealing the deal on the engagement.
“Fine, don’t answer me. (She scoffs playfully, while spraying my hair) There, all done.”I look at the mirror, and shrug. It’s the same bone structure, it’s the same skin, and it’s the same controlled person that I see from my reflection.“Oh, come on you. Let’s get you dressed.”Estelle keeps trying to cheer me up, but really she must get it by now that she is asking for the impossible. She helps me to slide on my dress, without messing up her hard work.“Let’s get you down to your party.”She beams at me, and I nod emotionlessly (http://www.polyvore.com/posh_princess/set?id=115288846&lid=3328693). Once we reach downstairs, Estelle leaves my side. Even though I wasn’t interacting with her, I feel lonely right now.
Everyone’s eyes are on me, looking at me like I am some kind of sheep that is yet to be slaughtered. Everyone looks like the devil to me, but I’m the one in the red dress. I am the devil… I did this to Harry, I did this to myself. My eyes want to tear, but there is no more salty droplets left; it seems I have drained my eyes in the past three days. All of the guests spread their“Awe!”when I walk past them, but my vision is rigid.I’m like a deer that is trying to hide from its hunter, Philip. I don’t want him, but as much as I say this, it won’t change a thing now.
As I click my crystal heels to the outside, I notice that under the lights and decoration, the future man stands looking sharp for his and my evening. He’s smiling, currently believing that I agreed to him for who he is, when in reality I agreed to him to save who I love. My dad spreads his smiles at the Jameson’s family members, and catches my glossy eyes. I want to cry, I really want to cry, but I can’t.“This will be over after tonight.”I remind myself and walk to them.
