A Boy and His Guitar

Two

The next day, Clarity woke up. It was a Monday, and she had to go to school. Yes, she was nineteen and still went to hughschool. She wasn't exactly a genius, if you wanted to know.

"Goodbye, Mom. Wish me good luck with Senior Year in Ireland," she said, grabbing a piece of waffle and shoving it ino her mouth. Clarity didn't like eating what she thought was 'too much.' In reality, she had a eating disorder.

Too fat. Ugly. Slut. All things she was called back in America. She had moved multiple times, then her mother just have up and moved to an entire different continent.

Clarity fled her house, hoping not to miss the bus on the first day. She hoped this year would be better. She wouldn't get strung up in what people thought of her.

Suddenly, a vague image popped into we mind. She saw the boy, on the steps, playin his guitar. Although she saw the boy, she also saw her own body watching the boy. She saw herself and the boy, who's name remains a mystery.

She wondered if he was still in high school, or maybe in college. Maybe he'd been held back also. Was he a good student? Or was he one of those boys who had focused on one things, their dream, and not giving a shit about the other subjects.

"Hey, New Girl," she heard someone say. She turned and saw a boy. He was tall and muscular, brown hair and green eyes. His hair was strait, but his eyes looked mysterious. He was attractive, Clarity could give him that, but not as attractive as the boy with his guitar.

"Hi, I'm Jessy," said the boy, holding out his hand. Clarity took it, shaking it slightly.

"I'm Clarity, nice to meet you." Ugh. She sounded so formal.

Suddenly, the squeaks of tires on the road interrupted their conversations. Jessy let Clarity walk up the stairs first, in which she got many stares from.

"I'm Clarity Constellation," she said to the bus driver. She mumble her name, which sounded like Mildred, but it could have been something else.

Clarity kept her head down, and yet kept looking for an empty seat. She finally found one, in the back. It was across the lane from the One-Seater, which Jessy sat in.

The two teenagers talke continuously, Jessy pointing out to stay away from Annabell, Rainy, and Gemma. (A/n: no, not Harry Style's Sister)

Clarity thanked the boy for the advice, taking a mental note to did out who they were.

The bus stopped, once again, but Clarity didn't bother to see who it was. She didn't know anyone but Jessy, anyhow.

Jessy and Clarity were deep into a conversation about which snack was better, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or Snickers, when a body blocked her vision of the boy.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't see you, you're short," she heard the boy say. It was the boy with the guitar! It was the one she was wondering about!

Clarity scooted over, makin room for him. He slid in and sat silently. She looked at his outfit, a basic plaid T-Shirt and some blue jeans. She wondered if he was cold, because the shirt was short-sleeved.

"Aren't you cold," she asked the boy. She could see goosebumps on his skin, as if he was freezing.

"A little," he mumbled, playing with his fingers. Not once, throught the whole ride to Clarity's new school, did he look at her eyes. He barely even talked, for that matter.

Clarity was even more curious as she got he schedual, found her locker, and put things into it.

One way to start off the year.
