Surprise, surprise!

Isabelle's P.O.V

“I love you so, so, so much, you know that?” Harry asked me, crawling into bed. I smiled at him, wearing only my bra and panties. He was in his boxers, his hair sticking up in a messy quiff, and his eyes sparkling a bit brighter than usual.

“Yeah?” I teased, wrapping my arms around his neck as he hovered above me, supporting himself on his forearms, “And tell me: What is it that you love ‘so, so, so much’ about me?”

He grinned kissing my forehead, “I love your laugh,” he said simply.

He kissed my temple, “I love your personality.”

Another kiss was pressed to my cheek, “And your innocence.” Another kiss on my nose, “And you in general.”

I giggled at his cheekiness and finally pressed my lips to his. He growled, licking my bottom lip, desperately demanding for an entrance, which I gave immediately. Our tongues traced each other and I smiled against his lips, wishing that I could just stay here forever. Really, was that too much to ask for?

Suddenly, the phone rang. “Are you fucking kidding me?” Harry groaned and rolled off of me. I giggled when he swore, and he reached for the phone, unlocking it viciously and putting it to his ear.

“What?” he spit.

“Harry!” I hissed, laughing quietly. He rolled his eyes and listened to the low murmuring that was coming from the other end of the line.

He nodded, annoyed. “Yes, alright, I get it! Yeah, Liam, I heard you! Okay, I’m hanging up now, bye.” With that he closed his phone and threw it to the edge of the bed before lunging back on top of me, kissing me mercilessly.

“Harry,” I moaned while his lips moved down to my neck. “Yes baby?” he asked seductively, kissing my neck, nipping at little patches of skin.

“What—what did Liam say?” I asked breathlessly.

Harry came up, breathing raggedly, “We have an interview tomorrow. Sort of last minute shit. Now shut up and let me kiss you.” He silenced me by pressing his mouth to mine.

“What time?—oh!” I cried when he sucked on a spot right below my jawline. “Eight in the morning,” Harry mumbled against my neck, making my whole body flush with pleasure.

“What?” I shrieked, and I pushed him off of me. I sat up and caressed his face, “We should go to bed. You’ll be way too tired in the morning if you don’t sleep.”

“Isabelle,” he whined, and I almost gave in and pulled him back to me, but I just managed to hold my ground, “I’m serious Harry. We should sleep.”

“Fine,” he groaned, and I smiled victoriously. He eyed me before quickly pressing one last kiss to my lips, before I could say anything, “Now we’ll go to sleep,” he winked at me.

“You cheeky bastard,” I laughed, pretending to wipe away any essence of his mouth on mine. That just made him chuckle, and without warning, he pulled me down onto the bed, sprinkling kisses all over my face.

“Harry!” I batted him away, and he finally retreated, laughing.

He enveloped me in his arms and put his chin atop my head, sighing, “Go to sleep, love. I promise I will too. I love you.”

January 14th

“So you’re finally wide awake now, huh?” I leaned over the table backstage and stared at Lou intently. She grinned, blushing, “Yeah. It’s about time too.”

We were at the boys’ interview. They were currently in the dressing room, changing into their outfits, and would be out here shortly to let Lou do their makeup. I was honestly quite excited. I’d never really been to these kinds of things, and the fact that I was here with Harry made it even better.

Lou had left Lux with Eleanor, who had whispered in my ear after, “It’ll be good practice.” I’d laughed and bid her goodbye.

Now, Paul stood in front of the dressing room, his arms crossed over his chest protectively, while Lou and I tried to get to know each other. Her makeup counter was a few feet away, covered with everything a makeup stylist could possibly want. I’d marvelled at everything when I’d seen it.

“Earth to Isabelle?” Lou snapped her fingers in my face and laughed, and I snapped back to our conversation.

“Sorry,” I grinned sheepishly, flushing, “What were we talking about?”

Lou laughed again, “I was just wondering how things were with Harry.”

“Oh,” I said blankly, a bit surprised at how the topic of our conversation had shifted, “Um, they’re great actually. Really, they could not be better.”

Lou smirked, “Yeah, I kind of figured. You guys were pretty loud last night.”

I blushed and put my head down while she laughed loudly, obviously finding the subject of making me uncomfortably completely hilarious. Paul, who was about twenty feet away, cocked an eyebrow, but I just shook my head, signalling for him to not worry about it.

“We um—we haven’t…” I sputtered out to Lou. She stopped laughing immediately and looked at me with wide eyes.

Fuck, why the hell did I say that? I wasn’t supposed to be going around and blurting out the intimate times I’d shared with my boyfriend. Jesus Christ Isabelle, get your shit together.

“You haven’t?” Lou asked loudly, and I cringed. There wasn’t really anyone backstage except for Lou, Paul, a few members of the lighting and sound crew, and I. But Lou was really loud, and a few people looked our way. I could guess that they knew what we were talking about, and I mentally face-palmed.

“Dear,” Lou said hurriedly, as if she was spilling some giant secret, “That boy must really love you.”

“What?” I asked, trying to pass off my discomfort of the subject with a smirk.

“Mm-hm,” Lou raised both her eyebrows, “Damn. I can’t even believe it. Just the fact that he’s waited this long. You guys have known each other for over a month now, right?”

“Uh-huh,” I said, suddenly interested in what she had to say.

She leaned forward, “Just that in itself is amazing. You guys haven’t…and he’s still…hold on, I need a minute to process this.”

She sat back, putting a hand to her forehead and using the other to wave and fan her face dramatically, which made me laugh. All in all, Lou was really nice. She reminded me a bit of Perrie, with a snarky, sarcastic, I-won’t-take-anybody’s-shit attitude, and I liked that, since that was the opposite of me.

“How about we just stop talking about it?” I suggested, and Lou laughed breathily. Suddenly, the doors of the dressing room opened, and all of the boys stepped out, looking rather posh. I had eyes only for Harry though.

He wore a simple black V-neck t-shirt, from which I could see the wings of his sparrow tattoos sticking out. Black skinnies adorned his legs, along with dark brown ankle boots on his feet. His messy quiff was pushed back with a camouflage headband, and he looked absolutely amazing.

Lou clapped her hands once she saw them, “Oh good, you’re out! Zayn, first one to makeup!”

Zayn grumbled something but when to sit in the chair nonetheless. Lou shot me an apologetic smile as she slid out from her seat and went to do what she did best. I didn’t mind though, because only a few seconds later, the seat was re-occupied.

“Hey,” Harry said as he slid into the chair. I smiled at him and reached for his hand across the table, “Hi.”

He pulled his hand away from mine, and I frowned. He just chuckled and reached behind him, pulling something out. It was a small, black rectangular box. I cocked an eyebrow, still seeming completely oblivious. He just chuckled and opened it, and my eyes widened.

“Holy motherfucking shit.”

He laughed fully then, gripping his stomach and I laughed along, but mostly took this time to notice how the corners of his eyes crinkled when he smiled, or how white his teeth were, or how beautiful the noise was. He was perfect.

“Here,” he said, pulling the bracelet out of the box and holding it out to me. It glinted silver in the light, and I noticed a small, silver charm embedded with diamonds hanging from it. If I looked a bit closer, I saw that it was an ‘H’. I held out my arm silently as he clasped it on, and then brought my hand to his mouth, where he kissed my knuckles.

I pulled my hand back after smiling like an idiot and studied the silver bracelet. There was an inscription on the surface of the fine metal:

I’m yours.
–H x

My hand flew to my mouth and I laughed—I actually laughed—at how beautiful this was.

“Harry,” I whispered, looking up at him. His eyes shone. “Harry, I can’t accept this.”

“Why not?” he asked, his brow immediately creasing with worry and said, “Do you not like it? I can get you something else. It’s not that hard really—”

“Harry,” I cut him off loudly, “I mean,” I stared down at the gift dreamily, “It’s so beautiful. I just—how much did this cost you? What’s the occasion?”

He chuckled, “Don’t worry about the price.” He reached for my hand and continued, “I can afford it, trust me. As for the occasion, today marks a month since we’ve first kissed.”

A month? It’s been only a month? It seems like so long ago…

“I completely forgot,” I admitted, feeling very ashamed. He laughed, “You have an excuse. You don’t remember it. I can’t blame you if it skipped your mind. But I wanted to make it special. Because I love you so much.”

I smiled and leaned forward, wanting to kiss him so badly. He mimicked me and our lips touched over the table. A fiery sensation ripped through me and I hummed in response to it.

I pulled back finally, grinned, and cupped his cheek. “I’m so happy right now. Thank you so much. I love you.”

He chuckled and snuck one more kiss to my lips before Lou called him over. “I’ll see you after the interview?” he asked, looking hopeful.

I almost laughed. This man could be so confident, so seductive without even trying, but at the same time, he was also trying to please everyone. I couldn’t keep up with his mood swings, but at the moment, I didn’t really mind.

“Of course,” I nodded and blew him a kiss. He pretended to catch it and stuff it hastily in his pocket, which made me laugh.

“So sappy now,” Louis remarked, smirking, and Harry flipped him the finger, sticking his tongue out good-naturedly whilst smiling. I stifled a giggled by pressing my palm to my lips and took this time to properly admire the bracelet. God, it was so beautiful. I really didn’t deserve this boy.

I love you so much Harry. I love being with you, lying in bed asleep with you, having your arms wrapped around me, feeling your lips against mine, and just knowing that whatever happens, we’ll be okay.

I hope you know that.

I smiled to myself as I thought those things and kissed the ‘H’ charm on the bracelet. There. I was never going to take this beautiful token off.
